im live in spain, friends and family work at seat, cupra in those years was a finish, as fr is, the cupra brand did not exist as such it is now, the virtue of that car, it is not that it has an excessive quality, but the leather interior with the Buquets is a masterpiece ... for 10k or 12k you can get a good unit, complicating cars that double it in price, as any performance golf could be, and even the clupsport. In my opinion as a consumer of the brand, the factory is where I was born, Barcelona, it is the best Leon ever made
My colleague at work wants to buy exactly the same black Seat Leon Cupra fake R with chipped 350 hp... it has 220,000 km on the clock and is now getting an engine rebuilt for around € 9,000... could even be the same car... he comes from the border triangle in Aachen, Stolberg.
This Gen of Leon has a special place in my heart. My first Car was a Seat Leon GT. It had Cupra styling but different exhaust and only 105 HP from a 1.2l 3 Zylinder i believe. 😅

No se los ve todos los dias, pero se vendieron como 2mil en todo el pais y el 80% terminaron en bs as. Se vendieron poco porque primero: no los promocionaban mucho, y segundo: es una marca que fue muy intermitente, iba y volvia, hasta que en el 2011 se fué hasta nuevo aviso. Y casualmente mi auto, se vendió 1 mes antes que la marca se fuera del pais a mediados de 2011
@@Garcheezy que bueno loco, mira lo mismo paso con los Fiat uno turbo que trajeron de Italia, solo trajeron 30 del nafta 1.4 de 110 cv y 15 del diésel creo que 95, de los 2 motores había 2 nafta y 1 Diesel en Córdoba, nosotros lo teníamos una bestia para ese entonces año 97 el Diesel corría hasta los 190 y el nafta lo tenia un conocido y en ese a 210 un verdadero cañazo
My dream car, unfortunately I cannot afford one, I'm driving a normal Leon 2.0 fsi engine and I wish I could drive one like this. Tuned mine a bit so it sounds better and I have a cupra bumper at the front. But this will be my goal to work towards
forgive me if I'm wrong in my think but the only difference between the mk2 cupra and r is the leather bucket seats with high gloss backs and r logo, rear diffuser with two centre pipes, 19" alloys instead of 18 and the standard power increase to 265bhp, once they are mapped to stage1 at least in the uk anyway they both go to 310bhp, so technically this car just needs 19" alloys from a genuine cupra r and the back of the seats painted gloss black and it is a cupra r ??
How do you feel about this car ride comfort compared to other bigger cars like BMW for instance? Yes it can go fast but it seems to be jumping all over the place around 190-200kmp/h.
weird cuz the original stock cupra is capable of going 250 kmh, meanwhile this one was tuned and yet I didnt see any improvement in top speed. Howcome ?
I've got mk2 1.9 TDI 105-->145 330nm and Ive broke an injector's body😅...now it has around 130 and 300 and It's a pleasure to drive...torquey af and fast with very low gas mileage
@@tommyallen8072 injector number 2 failed, coil pack 3 failed then 2 months later coil pack 4 failed. High pressure fuel pump failed. And the final issue which is the reason I traded it in was that the chain tensioner guide failed and ended up in my sump blocking my oil pick up pipe and starving the engine of oil. Which luckily didn’t lead to engine fail but we just cleaned it out got it running and traded it in. 24 months of hell.
@@tommyallen8072 yeah real shame, it only had 42,000 miles on the clock as well. Speaking Revo in the U.K. which is a VAG specialist they did outline these issues before I bought it. I thought I’d be one of the lucky ones.... I wasn’t 😂

Its a blow off valve caused by your turbo. If you dont have this installed it shouldnt sound like this. Check if maybe your PCV valve needs replacement (not expensive)

I had one of those from new. Stage 1'd it... had it for 14 years and did 180,000 miles in it. Then I got my mk2 Cupra and stage 1'd that too. Next one will be a mk3 Cupra ST Estate.... I imagine I will stage 1 that too

These type 1p's drive really amazing same like the fr , only the 1.8t 20vt engines are better in topspeed

Owned one of these for two years. It was a 2009 and was the most unreliable cars I’ve ever had. Constant issues.

This generation of cupra can do early 400bhp-ft/lbs on standard engine. Better than any of its competitors at the time.
