    CORRECTION: This video erroneously states that this 4-book AP only runs to 11th level (12th at the end). It in fact runs to 12th level (13th at the end). Below is more detail provided by James Jacobs:
    "One thing though that I do want to point out is that this DOES cover more levels of play than a typical 3 part adventure path, which generally has content for 10 levels of play. Season of Ghosts has content for 12 levels of play.
    A 3 part Adventure Path will usually have two adventures that have 3 levels of play, and then one with 4 levels of play crammed in there with less room available for support articles, monsters, and the Adventure Toolbox.
    With Season of Ghosts, and each volume having an adventure that does 3 levels, we DO have more room for additional support material. By the end of this campaign, your characters will be 13th level."

    00:05 I heard 'Season of Goose." I can never unhear that. Now I shall call the AP the Season of Goose henceforth.

      I wish I had thought of that line for the video... that's an EXCELLENT way of thinking about SoG.

    I GREATLY appreciate this video. Very glad I found it before my session 0 this week! Helped me a lot to set expectations when choosing an AP for my group, and they're excited for the RP!
    I'm also really happy they decided to go with an easier combat style, they're completely right with their approach. At worst, we can as GMs use the plethora of options to increase encounter difficulty. I feel it's much easier to do that than reduce danger.

    Went into GM prep just assuming it's set in the past cause they were about to release the world guide. Good publicity

    humble bundle gave me abomination vaults and age of ashes so i guess there will be a while before i get around to this one but it sounds interesting. Biggest question is probably if i should run phoenix after abomination vaults or this one. maybe pair stolen fates with abomination vautls and let ghosts pair with rube phoenix.
    what order would you run age of ashes, season of ghosts+ruby phoenix and abomination vaults + stolen fates in?

      AV -> SF is really thematic and something I will use at my table, the only problem with SoG -> RP is that APs are released in chronological order, so you would have to shift the timeline a bit

    I agree with you. It's tough to like theater of the mind all the time. Most people want to play-but they get board if they don't do something all the time. It's about equal time to play for each player without any one player feel excluded.

    Been running this campaign, closing out on book one, it has been a great adventure so far. This adventure does a great job at engaging characters in mysteries, players have loved the unique a colorful monsters and opportunities to resolve many encounters through non combat means, and has some very compelling characters. I would say it is pretty easy (we did have two characters die early, unfortunately due to miscalculations on the players part, no way the 4 little gremlins could be dangerous to a level 1 party!) But since the enemies have been unique, combat doesn't feel stale. Also been running xp so they have been over level for a few sections. I'm in 4 groups every week, and I think this is the game im most pumped for!

    One question I have since I’m about to run this with my group, there are references to alignment and similar old pre remaster terms, is it easy to run it with the remaster changes?

    • @HowItsPlayed
      @HowItsPlayed  5 месяцев назад

      Season of Ghosts uses the original Legacy rules, so it has alignments. I imagine it won't be too difficult to run using the Remaster Edition.

    I'm thinking about running either this or maybe something like strength of thousands. I like the idea of heavy RP.
    Does anyone have any thoughts on which may be better?

    How onerous are all the systems they're using? You mentloned a lot of them in the last video, research and points and stuff

    • @HowItsPlayed
      @HowItsPlayed  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, the second book (and maybe 3rd) gets pretty heavy into all the victory point conditions. I think they can probably be ignored if you feel like you don't need a quantifiable explanation for what the players achieve during those pieces.

    I have a Rule Reminder question:
    When I cast enlarge at 4th rank, I get a +10 feet of reach according to the spell. But, according to the table 9-1 my base reach is now considered to be 10 feet already. Do the two stack and I now have 20 feet reach (Which to me seems to be the case but that both unintuitive when reading the spell and seems very strong) or do I just use my base reach as baseline and I now have 15 feet of reach (Which to me seems more rules as intended)?
    Edit: If the former is the case then a tiny creature would gain 25 feet of reach when enlarged at 4th rank.

    • @HowItsPlayed
      @HowItsPlayed  4 месяца назад

      Although you could interpret RAW as adding those numbers together, I doubt that is the intent. I think they simply included the reach increases in the spell to ensure people were aware.

      @@HowItsPlayed Thanks for the reply. Yeah thats what I thought too. But weird then that they did not say "Your base reach BECOMES X" or something like that. I think from that it should still be clear that the Reach trait increases it further.
