Large Band Semi-Finals.
Wonderful and exciting arrangement by Duvone Stewart, he really paid tribute to a calypso classic from the late Black Stalin and unequivocally captured the feeling of a 'party'. The pace was fast and furious throughout the entire eight minutes. I've never heard Renegades sound like this since, not since the Jit Samaroo days. And I'm sure JIt is looking down on Stewart and the players with a big smile on his face.

I rejoiced that from 2016 "soca" won Panorama, but take any of those bands and go back to their winning tunes in the past, just the music, the melodies were much sweeter in and of themselves. I am 70 plus , An ah takin any claim dat.ah bias caus ah old, ah cud liv wit dat. But choose now: Rebecca or Want more Soca? Eh? Woman on d Base or Jammin Still? Eh? Which one really does have u " Feelin to Party" ? Eh? Yuh see wey ah goin wit dis? Mite b 138 Rene Way , me eh no judge, but is jus dat I memba wen d statue start to com dong before time an wen d cellos show we how nice " Mas in Madison Sq. Gdn " was. Dem ting hav mih "Feelin To Party." Wuh bout u?

This reminds me so of when Massey All Stars played Scrunter's Woman on the bass same sort of "wow" energy. BPRENEGADES isthe side to beat and whoever have to come good REAL good.

@shirleywillis3401 I’m saying they got this because I haven’t heard the rest, of bands but the music was superb,arrangement at another level and the transition to the end was remarkable. What you think?
@@richardmartin7867 you know final night is something else all bands step there game up. But Amoco is very confidence. But dont count out phase11 have you listen to there tune all they have to do is get a better ending. Despers not saying to much this year All stars tune i dont know it the little i heard i dont really like it. Then there is exodus they always lack on a final night let us see this year if they could stay in the first three and there is Invaders alway knocking on the door. This finals will be nice
@shirleywillis3401 True the finals is different,and I hvnt heard phase 2 , but I heard supernovas and I think they were good,so let’s see what the finals look like.

I never understand why the arrangers stay in front the band when the players are playing. did the arrangers allready did there part with weeks of drilling the players. could anyone tell me what are they conducting. I know you conduct classical i know Bradley stood in front the band but just lean on a pan rack close his eyes and listen to his sweet music. Please guys let the public see your front liners. I hope no one get mad with this comment.
No worries Shirley, thanks for the comment. I personally find the arrangers antics distracting. As much as I love Duvone and how he's brought the Renegades back to championship form, I wish he'd cut back on all the silly conducting' work he does. But that's how he is, the band members like it and I think it helps the band give them energy while playing. Also I think it's just something the Panorama judges allow now. Plus it may help during the bands Presentation part of the scoring when they get judged.

@@iamjasonlewis true..Amoco tune of choice remind me of long time.years ago i remember when south bands put some lick on town bands the only town band take the shame out of the eyes of town people was Carib Tokyo they came 3rd south came 1and 2 juicey untillencei dont know if i spell it right and the other band was deltones i will never forget that panorama town was so quiet.
Exactly what the world should be doing - building musical instruments that builds communities and nations not guns and weapons to destroy communities and nations … what kind of brain set thinks this way ?
