What the hell’s wrong with you? For Christ sake it’s a work van, don’t expect top of the line luxury. For a vehicle that was designed in 1995 it’s no surprise that it’s outdated, but at the same time it’s still in production for a reason!
Well it’s called a “cargo work van” for a reason. It’s a basic van just for craftsman/business owners moving/hauling tools from jobsite 2 jobsite. I’ve rented one from Uhaul actually…I’m thinking about purchasing 1 myself for future business start-up. It’s better than a pick-up truck when it comes to storage in my point of view.
What do u expect!!!??? its just a basic used cargo van used to move thing from point A to point B... Most empty cargo vans arent meant to have any creature comforts or luxury features... Theyre mainly used by service providers in the labor field... Carpenters, electricians - plumbers - handymen / general contractors & moving services... Some people buy them, then renovate them into liveable home on wheels
It is actually not a bad van at all. That 4.8L V8 LS Gen3 engine is very good for reliability and surprisingly good fuel economy. 6L90 engine is perhaps the most bulletproof transmission there is. If you want something fast you go buy a Corvette. If you want something super comfortable then you go buy a Cadillac. Interior is cheap plastic but waht do you expect out of a rental cargo van... It's job is to haul crap load of shit (or people) from point A to B and not break down. Just like the Ford Econoline, these are tried and true, all American workhorses. I actually prefer full size vans over any pickup trucks.
Best is an objective term - why is this engine so painfully slow? I've driven 20+ year old diesel vehicles that were faster than this van. I've driven another Savanna (rented from a different company) and it was marginally quicker, but still about 11-12 seconds to 60, that is antiquated performance.
@@YOLOnyc I have a 2500 Savana 4.8 that has power. I also had the 5.7 in another truck. 4.8 is the small Vortec Engine. But your also driving a rental that may not be taken care of well.

I’m getting ready to rent a cargo van from U-Haul for my cross-town move next Saturday, and if ALL of these GMC Savanas or Chevrolet Expresses are as bad as you say they are, I pray to God U-Haul doesn’t give me one of these! I’m actually hoping to get a Ford Transit, as I’ve heard nothing but glowing reviews about those bad boys; barring one of those, I wouldn’t mind giving something like a Ram Sprinter a go. Too bad Toyota doesn’t have anything in the way of a cargo van, as a 2012 Camry SE happens to be my personal vehicle and I absolutely love it…🤗🚘
