The 2nd time I made it for my friend who wanted it a bit larger, I cast on 46 stitches, and it came out great, a little slouchy, but in a good way, almost beret-like. I've also made your fingerless gloves and the way you make your thumb gusset is now my go to way. I like how you think! I can't wait to try out more of your patterns! Thanks!
How do we separate the stitches at the start? From the video, I can only count 12 in the middle section, but I can't see the left and right. Or does it not matter?

I’ve never liked knitting mittens like this, but this was the easiest pattern ever to make. I will make more with this pattern
