As a navite of Wyoming I've long been aware of what the state has to offer. When I think of Wyoming the term "miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles" usually pops into my head as it was one of my father's favorite ways to describe the great state.
It definitely seemed that there were a few riders that wanted to camp more, but they catered to the majority with them, who were probably deterred by the cold Wyoming wind on the nights they did camp. While I would definitely camp the whole route, I also respect that they were trying to promote and support the local businesses. I will say that where you camp makes a big difference when dealing with Wyoming weather.
These BDRs are such an amazing thing to introduce to the world right now. We've become so disconnected with the world and each other. These routes offer a re-connection of both. Re-connecting people in the groups that ride together, and also with the small towns an communities along the way. Then riders get to experience the incredible beauty of the world around them while being able to stay respectful of it. Thank you so much for what you are doing.
My husband is there for work right now (May 2022) where he's at it snowed a couple days ago and he tells me it's so, so windy!!! And weather changes every few hours! But he says the scenery is nice (in some parts) so far he's enjoying his stay, also tells me that everyone has been very nice and friendly to him.
I worked in and near Gillette Wyoming for a year two weeks on two weeks off. Wide open country. Hard to find a place to stay, even in Gillette. Forget about a place to stay during Sturgis Rally. Do not go there in the winter! Snow never stops until everything is buried and it always snows sideways. All entrance ramps to highways has a gate to lock you in where you’re currently are when it snows.

@@captainamerica9353 Previous to this video the BDR's were around $20 each. Available on Amazon Prime Video or Touratech. The BDR crew spends a lot of time and money to make these routes & videos happen. I've bought a few before and was happy to support them. So yes, I'm happy they've released all of them here on YT. That is all I was saying. I'm aware of the YT machine and the game we all have to play when using it. But, if we don't like their rules we can stop using it. That said, I've just learned to play the game and have even made money on YT.
What a compelling piece of film making Sterling thank you. I'm so jealous of the wonderful opportunities for exploration open to you guys over the pond. Here in the UK the vast majority of our beautiful country is owned by wealthy people who have inherited Square mile upon square mile of land from privileged family lines and who are in no way inclined to share it with anybody...... certainly not motorcyclists. "Get off my land!" is what we get at every turn ..... You are so fortunate to live in the greatest country in the world 👍
living in the Southeast I’ve never been jealous of a BDR, but this film has done it. I want to ride it now. Thank you for taking us along on this adventure and for making it available to watch on RUclips!
The southeast is nice but I'm certainly not jealous of you living there:) Wyoming is awesome, actually my favorite of the lower 48...yes, i've been to all of them!
So interesting tidbit, the wilderness areas of the Wind River mountains, just north of where the BDR route passes, is the most remote area in the US outside of Alaska. Also a place which is stunningly beautiful alpine terrain, but few people ever see it because it takes several days backpacking just to get in there.
Not a motorcycle rider but we use the BDR for overlanding with our Offgrid Trailers. So we have to do extra research and planning where we can't take the truck and trailer and just appreciate the BDR and the people behind creating these awesome routes. Maybe you guys can also rate the trails for off grid trailers one day?
I'm not sure about the northern parts of the route, but I've personally driven Bridger peak in a stock Cherokee Trailhawk and would say at least that section is very doable in a stock 4x4, with an off-road trailer.
Looks like an awesome trip! I’ve been through all these areas in my travels. That’s a loooooong ways to ride in the dirt! The poisonous gas is hydrogen sulfide. It’s a byproduct of organic material being consumed by bacteria or something like that. Very deadly.
Thanks for putting this together, it has been very enjoyable to watch and think about how I can possibly do the WYBDR. I have two critiques. The first is the tire with a sidewall gash. That is a non-pluggable issue and for those with tubeless tires, it is vital to carry a tube(s) so you can attempt to get to the main road and correctly repair the tire. I fully understand why you had a SAG wagon on this trip. I just want to throw that out there as a reminder. The second is the broken wrist. Unfortunate as that was it may have been avoided if he was NOT trying to film the sheep and ride simultaneously. Motorcycling in all genres requires perpetual vigilance and attention. Taking your eyes and mental focus off the path of travel, even for 1-2 seconds can be catastrophic. My point is, to stop and look at the sheep, then ride, not both at the same time. Once again just my thoughts on this and I do realize that things happen that are out of our control. Kudos to the rancher and the Jeepers. I have had Jeepers help in the past with, non-other than a broken wrist in a remote area of West Va. Great Bunch.
Thanks so much for making this available for us to watch! What an incredible journey. Amazing scenery. Expertly ridden. Great camaraderie with the crew. And spectacular filming. SO enjoyable. I can't wait to ride it this summer.
As a hobbyist videographer and serious photographer, biker and creator, and ruthless critic, this production was hands down the best I have seen. the videography was superb, the quality of the shooting, the storyline, the vivid colors was astonishing. The audio crystal clear. The drone shots, gorgeous. The interviews made it come alive. This raised the bar for me. Kinda like an IMAX movie or BBC documentary. THAT GOOD. Bravo.
Great route & even better videography. I rode the OR BDR with 5 buddies years ago on a KTM 450. 5 days 1100 miles. Great fun, great ride with a dose of both deserts and technical mountain riding. This looks even more spectacular.
I have almost 50k miles on a Tenere 1200 that I just sold. Many miles of that were on roads that they just showed here. No more big bikes for me off road. How was the 450 on the trip? That is what im leaning toward.
❤️❤️❤️ simply AWESOME… fantastic. I’m falling in love with this kind of journey. In Italy we have fantastic places for motorcycling turn and turn high mountain pass and very beautiful scenery… this is opposite of ours country… I love these open spaces.. miles and miles of wildness. Thanks for sharing
Over the years I've heard that Wyoming is a SUPERB place for back country riding. After watching this, I'm convinced. Super job by your team getting this film out. Will be headed to Wyoming in a few weeks!!

Funny, I sure recognize those two little "jumps" at 1:02:23 because I caught some decent air off of them on my Yamaha Grizzly last summer! I even have some footage of it because they were just right for the heavy utility quad.
I'd love to think that my off-pavement skills would allow me to do this ride, even skipping the expert sections, but I know better than that. However, I can definitely see exploring lots of these areas in my Jeep. Not quite the same, but better than not going at all! Awesome work as usual, congrats to everyone involved!
Well said, cause when you venture off alone on your own, you are better off in your 4x4 Jeep, as you see here, they have a support vehicle and without it, they would be out there for days to get a broken bike back to civilization, but you can carry your own repair kits on your Jeep.
Jocelyn is top notch rider and great partner for splitting off to accompany a fellow rider who was not comfortable with the technical section. Also, I want a tire change truck to follow me around, LOL!
Man, that sure looks like a great time. But I'll be 62 this July. I would need to get in a lot better shape to try this. I enjoyed this movie very much. Thank you.
Love the WYBDR footage. When I rode through Wyoming on the Continental Divide it just looks like Wyoming is a big desert, but it has so much more to offer. I will say, I enjoy the serene and wide open empty spaces of the desert more than most, but love the footage your team has captured. Makes me wanna ride the BDR! Keep up the great work.
What an awesome route. Have done several BDR's. In the process of getting some of my local buddies committed on a '24 WY BDR run. I get that BMW supports your efforts$$$, but it is beyond me why someone would want to ride a 600lb motorcycle, when you could ride a 650 single or 700 twin with soft bags which would be better in every measurable way, and enjoy the more technical parts of the ride with so much less mental and physical stress. To each their own. I digress. Can't wait to run this next year either on my t7 or my 650 that I ran the ID and NM bdr on. Thank you guys so much for all the hard work you do to create these awesome routes.
Nice vid, will head up there in a few weeks. Good thing you guys had Jocelin with ya. Great to see you riding Jos and I remind Antonella all the time...size does not matter. Appreciate all the BDR team does to protect this great place we call the American Back Country.
Excellent excellent work. Sterling is an amazing director. The crew did great choosing / creating the BDR. Jocelyn always adds a nice lively engaging touch. Thanks all
I'm going to start the last part of the AZBDR soon. We're all mostly running jeeps and we've had a blast! Not sure which BDR we're going to tackle next but, looks like we've got some great trail to choose from.
Watched the whole ride. It felt like I was there. I loved how you respected all the riders skill levels. Having a F800GSA and a KTM 690 R The 690 would be the perfect bike. What a great trip to be involved with a great group.. Ride safe and keep riding. Around Bend Oregon 2 wheeling
Thanks for allowing me to come along, vicariously, on your excellent adventure. Two thumbs up for the motion picture Crew for the Professional filming you did. The whole thing was a joy to watch.

Awesome video. Question, was one of those bikes a Tenere? One of them looked like it possibly was. Love the sound of the exhaust on that one bike. Nice rumble
Thanks for posting this, I missed seeing it when you screened it in Ft Collins. Looks like a really fun route, I'm trying to figure out a good way to get back home to Denver, don't really feel like riding the entire way home on I-25 on a 690 Enduro
We're leaving a pickup in Wamsutter Wy, riding down to the start in Baggs via the Red Desert side trip, and then at the end we're picking up a 10' Uhaul in Cody and bringing the bikes back to our vehicle in Wamsutter... the Uhaul in only around $150. Looking forward to riding it in August!!
Great documentary, looks like a very enjoyable experience. Wish I could go on a ride like that with good people. Hopefully soon, got to pick which bike I want first. Lol Thanks for sharing!
Early shots showed a rider on a Himalayan. Later I did not see him again. Did he not make it? Or maybe that was one of the camera bikes? It was nice to see something other than a European bike on a BDR video.
Beautiful! Another dream ride for me. Living in Alaska means all the BDR's remain a (financially) impossible dream so I watch the videos over and over. Thanks for putting this on RUclips so I don't need to buy the DVD! p.s. Has there been a BDR where nobody got injured and required quitting the team and/or medical assistance? Things happen and it shows how quickly something can go wrong.
"Impossible"?, you just need a $22,000 Limited Edition GSA, thousands in riding and camping gear, money for hotels, food, and then you have a trashed bike when you return, figure about 1/2 in depreciation, oh, maybe a fortune in medical bills . . . .
Thanks for a great video and well done to all those that rode and took part. Hope Brice ! is on his way to a full recovery. I broke my wrist several years ago but at the time I rode a CrossTourer which had DCT which made life easier. I currently ride here in the UK a 1200 GS but having ridden for over 50 years you riders and without wishing to be sexist the ladies in particular put me to shame. Gravel car park is my limit Stay safe out there Ted
Kudos.....that said a small suggestion. Add a side trip to the Red Desert , if you've never heard of it go spend a bit of time riding it , you will NOT be disappointed.
Looks like a great route and if I ever get the chance to ride it I'd want Jocelin to go. How could you possibly have a bad time with her personality and enthusiasm.
Beautiful views & love Wyoming's countryside. Thank you guys for putting this together, few questions 1) any specific tire recommendations for this BDR? 2) What tires were used? 3) What is the alternate route fom the Bridger Peak expert section? Thank you again & hopefully I can get out there soon & enjoy this from a different perspective
LETS GET A MONTANA ROUTE GOING GUYS AND GALS!
Good advertisement for riding a smaller/lighter Adventure bike on the BDRs...
Agreed.
The secret to riding in Wyoming? Fuel up at lunch…shut’er down when you are tired or the view is spectacular.

How about "I Can See For Miles" ?
It's the type of countryside I dream of.. looks absolutely amazing 👏
Great film...love watching the scenery...would of liked to see some camping...so I need to ask..why bring all that gear if you not going to use it???
It definitely seemed that there were a few riders that wanted to camp more, but they catered to the majority with them, who were probably deterred by the cold Wyoming wind on the nights they did camp. While I would definitely camp the whole route, I also respect that they were trying to promote and support the local businesses.
"Impossible"?, you just need a $22,000 Limited Edition GSA, thousands in riding and camping gear, money for hotels, food, and then you have a trashed bike when you return, figure about 1/2 in depreciation, oh, maybe a fortune in medical bills . . . .
@@captainamerica9353 Hahahaha! Right you are mate!
Excellent!
Kudos.....that said a small suggestion. Add a side trip to the Red Desert , if you've never heard of it go spend a bit of time riding it , you will NOT be disappointed.
Riding is the best medicine
Looks like a great route and if I ever get the chance to ride it I'd want Jocelin to go. How could you possibly have a bad time with her personality and enthusiasm.
Jocelyn is definitely the star of this video.
Good to see all them familiar faces, and at 22:14, those Continental tires are just no good for such trails with sharp edges.
Is Klim gear mandatory on the WYBDR?
🤣
It’s great gear I resisted for a few years didn’t see the value. Try some then let us know. For me it’s the best.
Oscar worthy. Fantastic cinematography, sound editing, visual effects / angles, video editing, and live action short film 🏆
We had a great crew on this film, including Director Sterling Noren , Cinematographer Michael Bielecki, and Drone operator Cameron Sale!
Anyone else spend 7 months at the BMW performance center preparing for a BDR? That's a unique training experience.
Imao right. Never been trained myself just figured it out
Beautiful views & love Wyoming's countryside. Thank you guys for putting this together, few questions 1) any specific tire recommendations for this BDR? 2) What tires were used? 3) What is the alternate route fom the Bridger Peak expert section? Thank you again & hopefully I can get out there soon & enjoy this from a different perspective
