as a korean man, Korean ppl like to discriminate others. others based on university they graduated, regions where they are from , foreinger, of course sexual orientation, skin colour, poor ppl, etc etc. so there is this "discrimination law"차별금지법 that has been pending for years now to pass. the worst thing is korean ppl dont even realize they are discrimitory when they are actually saying and doing it
thats so sad... I mean, everywhere has discrimination to some degree and in some ways, but I do know its pretty bad in some parts of east asia, and that feels like such a suffocating environment to grow in. instead of accepting each other and assessing someone based on their personality and who they are, every little dry fact about you is a chance to lower you and see you as lesser than for no reason.
Bigotry and discrimination in highly collectivistic countries where people are generally expected to get along and maintain group harmony can be WILD. In Western countries where individualism, free speech, and direct communication are prioritized, things like these often do not go as unnoticed, thus, allowing people to speak their minds and stand up for one another (even if they're total strangers).
Although I am part of the LGBTQ+ community, I do have to mention that there are queers who dislike discrimination law too though. It's like the Affirmative Action system. It certainly has good purpose, but it doesn't abide by the constitution. It's more likely to do more harm than good, regarding the freedom of expression. *Even contempt is protected by the freedom of expression.* Discrimination law is prone to failure, and to not make it fail, we have to change the actual constitution.
I literally ended a friendship that was bordering on a relationship due to a person like this. It came out of left field with no warning too; I'd gone to visit them and we were walking around town. I saw a couple of guys walking the opposite way hand in hand and kind of giggled to myself; I like seeing people being open about themselves like that. Then he chipped in and was like 'I'm not homophobic but I hate it when they do that in public where I can see them. It makes me uncomfortable and they should do it elsewhere'. I'm not confrontational but that blew my mind, I immediately retorted with 'You can't say that!' We had a conversation a little later about why he felt that way and I was like 'Does it make you uncomfortable?' Yes, 'is it going to hurt or directly affect your wellbeing?' tried to say that just seeing it was enough of an excuse to say that 'those people' shouldn't be out in public. A few months later, things were still dicey, and then he dropped a freakin' atom bomb of 'I don't get Trans people they shouldn't exist. They just do it for attention'🙂🔪 Bro was lucky that he was the other side of the country otherwise I might well have committed homocide. My best friend is a trans man, my mom has a friend who is a trans woman that I clearly remember from my childhood prior to her transition. I spent most of my teen years horse riding and there were quite the number of LGBTQ+ people there. That's where it ended. I absolutely refused to associate myself with someone that would actively complain because they're uncomfortable or don't understand these kinds of things about people that don't even affect him! He tried to get in touch in the end but I blocked him. There's a lot of things that I'm uncomfortable with especially regarding social interactions but it doesn't give me an excuse to put other people down for it. Uh, he was also low key racist too. I don't remember much about that side of things because I was done.
HE IS SO PRECIOUS. I’D PROTECT THIS MAN AND THROW HANDS FR. You don’t deserve to bullied or hated for who you are or who you love. Just because you are a “straight man” doesn’t mean every gay man out there is attracted to you, its just like not all women are attracted to you.

Honestly it’s sickening that people in real life actually think that homosexuality is “unnatural” and treats it like an infectious virus. As a homosexual myself, I absolutely have no tolerance whatsoever to any kind of behaviour like that from people in real life. We should all be allowed to live our lives as the people we are
I am an ally for the LGBTQ+ community, and I have a friend who came out to my friend group years ago as lesbian. One of our friends immediately showed their colors as very homophobic and insensitive, which we weren't expecting. They said things like "Just to be clear Im straight, don't get ideas, don't touch me, leave me alone". It absolutely pissed me off. The logic and offensive language makes no sense. That friend has a straight guy friend and he playfully hits her all the time and there's no issue, why not tell him not to touch you too incase he gets ideas?? Its such a double standard and very hypocritical. Just because someone is gay, bisexual, whatever doesn't mean they are attracted to everyone with that gender (ex: a gay person doesn't like every man in existence, a lesbian doesn't like every female). Just like how you as a straight individual may not like everyone of the opposite sex. Love is love, and people who want to get in other people's business and make it about themselves somehow and get offended and rude can just f*** right off.
It's really true!! I was kicked out of a summer camp lifeguard job when I was 18 (I'm 19 now) and before they had found me a way home, me and my friend one night were with a few of our other friends and since there was nowhere else to sit the two of us were laying on the floor and holding hands, as friends do. Another girl came in and asked us if we were dating and I said no, she is straight, so this girl started questioning me and asked me what I was so I answered honestly since I was already kicked out for it I told her I was bisexual and she asked me if I would get turned on my any girl undressing in front of me. I wanted her to understand how awkward and uncomfortable that question was so I directed it back at her and asked would you get turned on if any random man undressed in front of you? She didn't take the hint, answered yes seriously, and proceeded to ask me again a few more times. When I satisfied her with enough no's she walked out of the room and yelled to the whole camp, there's a lesbian couple in there. I was gone the next day. My parents still don't know the real reason I was kicked out.
@@shoshimonster5451 oh my gosh that’s horrible and honestly if it’s not illegal where you live it should be. Yes. I have been kicked out of my job when someone who worked with me told them I was bisexual and they didn't even verify with me, they just kicked me out
It's heartbreaking to watch or hear about the painful experiences that you are forced to endure just because of who you love. It's good that such videos highlight the prejudices in society. I'm a straight woman, and I got backlash at work from older employees for not refusing to work with freelance gay staff - 2 guys in their 20s. One was my manager, who hated gay people because of his religious beliefs. He never promoted despite being very good at what I did. I moved on to another job, and I have no regrets for doing the right thing. Both guys were amazing humans, and they both had experienced rejection from close family members once they came out. I thought they were both very brave for living their lives on their own terms and not hiding in the closet.
As soon as dude started talking about AIDS, I would've turned on teacher-mode and given a long, boring lecture about HIV/AIDS. It's almost impossible to change the mind of a homophobe, but if I can at least educate the person on basic medical knowledge, maybe that person learned something.
If someone said something like that to me, I will cry immediately and just leave that spot ignore that guy. I don't understand why they always think something like that
I'm so happy that the woman stood up against the guy, most people would ignore or just be homophobic together, but she stood up! I don't usually see that much but seeing this makes my heart really happy ❤
it will in 3300yrs. nations with very strong cultures and national identities take multiple generations to make change especially ones with very strict social norms
luckily I've never been in a situation like this, the closest I can think of is someone saying "that's gay" and I asked why, they couldn't explain. I find that often when someone is so hateful to gay people they may be gay & hate themselves for it because of Christianity
Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, not everything means the same in between language, and each cultures have specific ways to speak about them. I would guess that because the Korean gay community is marginalized, this either mean lack of feminity, or that there is nothing wrong with being gay.
These girls are too patient. If that was me I would have already slapped some sense into him, I don’t stand for that crap. Maybe I’m just to hot headed but I would’ve been more rude
Let this be a lesson to EVERYONE! We are all human beings no matter what. The respect and aspect of friendships and peers don't change for the person that's gay or whatever. It just upsets me how two words can change people.
@Based Adonis It shouldn’t matter if it’s even a small touch, we are all human beings no one should be treated different based on what gender they are attracted to.
@Based Adonis I also get it if someone doesn’t want to be touched, but mentioning them being gay literally has nothing to do with it. It’s just random judging.
@Based Adonis people accidentally touch each other like brushing of hands/fingers or pat on shoulder etc since youre straight, does it mean every girl who does that to you likes you that way? NO. ridiculous. lgbt ppl have types too and they dont go around liking everyone of the same gender as them. get over your head
@Based Adonis if someone doesn’t want to be touched male or female they should be respected. But there is no reason to be homophobic, them being gay has nothing to do with physical contact.
Okay but In general I hate when there is a homophobic person that thinks a gay person is even interested in them💀like what makes them think that just because someone is gay they are automatically attracted to them?
As a queer person myself, I would have cried and ofc, stood up for him. Since I'm not Korean, I would be a little harder to shut his bullshit. I'm happy for the girls who defend him. ✨
If I was even in a situation where someone else was being jabbed at like that, I would stand up for them, even if my homophobic parents where around and I would get a talking to when I got home (my parents wouldn't say anything in public) it's worth it for me to stand up for someone else. Obviously, I'd my parents were not there I would bring up personal situations that happened to me as well for the argument
I think it's unnecesary to label people as straight or gay. People are people. That's it. What we do in our private life shouldn't be of anyone's concern.
I know this is supposed to be serious but I'll never get over the (EAST?)Asian (?) use of perfectionally matching soundeffects....at first I found them a bit silly and cringe but now I am so into the deep I literally wished to have that soundboard in real life.^^

as a korean man, Korean ppl like to discriminate others. others based on university they graduated, regions where they are from , foreinger, of course sexual orientation, skin colour, poor ppl, etc etc. so there is this "discrimination law"차별금지법 that has been pending for years now to pass. the worst thing is korean ppl dont even realize they are discrimitory when they are actually saying and doing it
thats so sad...
They just do it for attention'🙂🔪
Bro was lucky that he was the other side of the country otherwise I might well have committed homocide.

Very off topic, but Eunji is so adorable 😢💕
HE IS SO PRECIOUS. I’D PROTECT THIS MAN AND THROW HANDS FR. You don’t deserve to bullied or hated for who you are or who you love. Just because you are a “straight man” doesn’t mean every gay man out there is attracted to you, its just like not all women are attracted to you.

This one time I was in Korea and me and my boyfriend (now fiancé) were kissing goodbye at the subway station and this ajusshi started yelling at us, complaining that Korea wasn't like America and we couldn't do that. Then this one guy passing by with his headphones on literally jumped to our side, took them off, started arguing in a quiet and calm manner with the old guy and then turned to us and said "just ignore him" and walked away. It truly is the smallest of things that make a difference
Sexual preference is not a defining characteristic for a person. It's one aspect but it does not determine badness or goodness. I have gay friends and this made me choke up and cry a little. Be kind guys! And kudos to the ladies who stood up for what is right.

Honestly it’s sickening that people in real life actually think that homosexuality is “unnatural” and treats it like an infectious virus. As a homosexual myself, I absolutely have no tolerance whatsoever to any kind of behaviour like that from people in real life. We should all be allowed to live our lives as the people we are
Welcome to Thailand, we respect each other no matter what your gender ❤🇹🇭
I am impressed, They really are so closed , It was great how the girls acted .
Firing someone for their sexual orientation is both none of the employers business and also has nothing to do with work and is biased and prejudiced.
As for your friend it’s ridiculous how she interrogated you and made you feel less than for something she answered yes too. That is also weird, like what if her uncle or a much older gentleman undressed infront of her - she’s saying that would automatically turn her on??
@@nataliesassano8976 it was New York so it's definitely illegal.... But I couldn't do anything or my homophobic parents would know what really happened and at this point it's too late. I'm a straight woman, and I got backlash at work from older employees for not refusing to work with freelance gay staff -
2 guys in their 20s.
“Just because I’m gay doesn’t mean I don’t have a taste” would have been funny 😂

I think no one likes to be discriminated or persecuted for being gay so it's not a choice. It's who we are and God created me like this.

it will in 3300yrs. nations with very strong cultures and national identities take multiple generations to make change especially ones with very strict social norms
Joontaek and his voice is perfect for making situations uncomfortable 🤣🤣🤣
That guy was so good at acting like a JERK!
luckily I've never been in a situation like this, the closest I can think of is someone saying "that's gay" and I asked why, they couldn't explain. I find that often when someone is so hateful to gay people they may be gay & hate themselves for it because of Christianity
Hongjoon: Hi guys I am a normal gay
Me: What in the queer is a “normal“ gay??
Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, not everything means the same in between language, and each cultures have specific ways to speak about them.
I would guess that because the Korean gay community is marginalized, this either mean lack of feminity, or that there is nothing wrong with being gay.

Let this be a lesson to EVERYONE! We are all human beings no matter what. The respect and aspect of friendships and peers don't change for the person that's gay or whatever. It just upsets me how two words can change people.
This video is truly 😐 showed how they(Straight) thinking, about gay is When we touch them are mean we like Him, 👏👏 lmao
isnt that what homophobes think tho
that gay ppl like every single man in the universe
its so stupid omg
Fr, they completely forget the fact that 'standards' exists.
the girl is so sweet stop😭😭💕💕
