    We here in the Midwest have a lot to be proud of & thankful for. In addition to Chuck Berry being the first inductee into the RRHOF, there’s also Miles Davis as the first inductee into the JAZZ HALL OF FAME. This album is just one of his many musical gems. It’s part of my playlist on RUclips & will remain so until I die.❤️💯👍🏿🇺🇸

    All of these greats on one stage is such a site to see, and every note they play is total ear candy!

    I recollect that Michael (when asked something like - "how does it feel to be the best sax-player in the world"), answered, "I don't know, you'll have to ask Jerry Bergonzi that". :)

    This is one of my favorite Brecker Brothers songs. It's just very nice to listen to, MIchael's solo is great, and Dennis Chamberst makes this version amazing!

  • @paulalexanderjohnson

    Its amazing how much the power of Dennis Chambers playing the drums making this song what it needed to be. I have to say that this song is one of there best. The sad part is that the Brecker Bros. are no more, but just out past memories & one of the best! Michael is the best in ways people don't understand. This song gave the definition of what the song title is. The adventure in the song; The complexity & the sound; plus the feel was just amazing. All the solos made me smile. Picture Perfect !!

    This is absolutely the most perfect version of the tune ever. Chambers is insane, Whitty is insane, the whole group just plays together so goddamn well! Barcelona gig contained other otherwordly versions too, I love Stern's last solo on Song for Barry.

    but dennis is amazing and surely among the best

    I remember once I've visited this concert in 1993 at the Jazz Festival in Frankfurt (Hauptwache) I almost forgot to breathe - it was absolutely breathtaking in its literal sense!
    Michael, we're missing you!

    Now my favorite Randy Brecker solo! Those block chords behind the last chorus of Michael's solo are totally inspired! And words can't even describe DC!
    Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!

    I saw this tour live. It’s funny to think I was “Disappointed” that Weckl was on the leg I saw 😂 Oh the 90’s were too good to us for jazz fusion.

    These guys are awesome. I love both the Brecker brothers, and Mike Stern and Dennis Chambers are just amazing. I wish they'd let Mike Stern take a solo, he's a great guitar player.
    I've been able to play with Randy Brecker on stage and it was a very thrilling experience. That was with my high school band three years ago, before Michael got sick, but it got me to practice more improv and inspired me more than anything else.

    if there's one most influential tenor sax player, he must be john coltrane, and michael would surely agree :)

    @callumlicks I wondered the same the first time I was the video. But it was only a weird illusion caused by the camera angle and the way his elbow is positioned. He's totally normal person physically :)
    But anyways, this is one of the best live performances ever, all the solos are just totally exhausting. I can't breathe at any point - just waiting for the next note!

    Yeah, I'm sure he would agree with you, because he was extremely modest. I'd say that Trane and Mike are definitely at the top of the list when it comes to the most influential. To me, Mike was and still is just way more inspiring, and sometimes more emotional with his playing that Trane was.

    Hey man, not to burst your bubble but this isn't a remake. It's their own song with the same title. Sorry man. Not a cover. I listen to the version you spoke of, it's okay . But there is a reason why nobody knows about this band and nobody knows about the band you desire.

  • @georgeyk123
    @georgeyk123 11 лет назад +1

    Not that Coltrane cant rip it up too haha just preference in tone

  • @JoshBigPocketMiller
    @JoshBigPocketMiller 13 лет назад

    @mbos4115 No doubt he's one bad mug but Steve Smith's interpretation is a little bit more fuller and beefier than Dennis's on this tune. But Dennis is still probably one of the World's best players
