What a fabulous party. This great lady really makes the place rock. I got one of my pop-loving kids to sit still for one minute and watch this spectacle. He did admit that the performance was "quite lively". Maybe one day he will listen to it by himself. Uchida is a great and sensitive musician and a marvellous showman, a lovely combination.
The guy at 9:56 in the lower righthand corner just cannot contain himself! lol. Another truly marvelous performance from Mitsuko!!! I love her well-deserved expression after finishing ... very touching indeed!
Lo bueno de la democrática red es que cada quien puede elegir lo que prefiere escuchar. Aquí estamos los que seleccionamos a la Señorita Uchida para este concerto. BRAVO!!!
Cant wait to see Mitsuko perform this at the Proms this year. A treat instore indeed. Wish this whole concerto was on one entire RUclips posting though - bloody adverts in the middle!!
@lllllllllllllll88 a true musician never looses the love and emotions, if you think that she is "acting" the faces then you shouldn't even be watching her in the first place
Beethoven wrote this piece, the 5th and 6th symphonies, and the C minor chorale, all simulatenously!!! if you listen close, you can hear ideas from one piece bleed into the other, especially the famous fate motive.
I couldn't disagree more. Uchida's sensitivity is nonpareil and that's what makes this piece, indeed most pieces, work. Especially please listen to the 2nd movement, among the finest performances I've ever heard. Yes, the notes are easy to play but the wisdom and humanity in Uchida's playing should inspire any listener to be a better, more sensitive human being.
A little too much acting for my taste... And frankly, I'm tired of ochestras. I love solo piano because I LOVE the instrument, and there's too much ochestra in concertos. She plays very well, but can lose all those faces. That's like reality tv. When you've rehearsed something 1,000 times, the emotions are lost, so it's all acting and detracts from the phenomenal playing because everyone's watching instead of Listening...
Tutto bellissimo ed emozionante, grandi Uchida, Metha e la meravigliosa Orchestra Filarmonica di Israele!
Her love for Beethoven is so evident, and so wonderful.

Stupendo...e altrettanto lo sono le faccie che fa lei...!
É lido... Ela parece estar descobrindo um segredo..
Demasiado Staccato!
Unless that this is just this device there is some dirt of skip glitch or something that happens at minute 5:08 roughly.
I mean 5:06
This might BE Beethoven reincarnated!
2:30 Ooop! Iiiiiii have a secret!
詠伝 I think she does it because she made a little mistake when she played this part at the beginning
The dog doesn't seem to be a Beethoven's enthusiast.
And family made fun of me for making faces and movement. Little do they know if the music that makes me dance
Zimerman's is 100x better i hate to say

Marty Nemko I could not have said it any better. I so often feel transported to a higher plane when I hear any of her performances.
