so theoretically, when the sheriff said "if you put the cuffs on him, non of us is getting here out alive" is true.

Like your comment is a revelation.. that's what it means.. The writers knew you would know that every other option leaves everyone dead.. so made the Sherrif say it prophetically.

None of these ending are good. What the fuck was Ubisoft thinking?! A bittersweet ending at the very least would've been fine. But the Father wins in all of these.

Yannkam 212 To each their own I suppose. But I hated this. You tried saving the county from these assholes, who slaughtered and violated people and animals in this 'mission'. And in the end, they win. Even the Father gloated in that one ending he was 'right'.

Kamil Krok a good ending would be one, where jason and lisa kiss and go out together. Now he just saves them and tells them to fuck off as he is changed. The other ending is bad considering that she chose us only to get a baby out of jason. So its bad but not as dark as this

So there is no good ending? You can either :
    1. Be brainwashed at the end
    2. Be stuck in a bunker with a lunatic and do nothing
    3. Walk away
Pretty stupid, if you ask me.

Why is it that the creators of Far Cry, ever since 3, feel the need to give us less good in their good endings? I mean seriously, what the hell? How did the story go from killing the crap out of crazy cultists to two nukes dropping on the state for some unknown reason? Did the Father steal the nukes? Was America at war a nuclear superpower during the game?
This crap literally came out of nowhere

The nuke ending kinda makes sense if you pay attention to watch each of the leaders of Seed's cult says, especially about how shitty our world leaders are, how things are escalating, and how crazy the headlines are getting. It's pretty much our world leaders reaching the point where full-scale nuclear war has been waged and it happens right at the exact moment you resist Joseph for the last time, thus making him "seem" as if he was right all along. It's not god unleashing his wrath upon the world, it's our world leaders pressing their own shiny red button on each other.

  • @davidsolomie162
    @davidsolomie162 6 лет назад +90

The devs fucked themselves over. Basically, the "best" ending is to walk away at the very beginning, which means the "best" ending involves avoiding the entire story. AKA "You want a decent not-fucked-up ending? Don't play the game fuck-face!". The standard endings are a) "bad" (walk away at the end after fighting father Gung Ho for hours then unwillingly kill your friends) and b) "the worst of the fuckin' worst" (God knows how much of the world blew up and you're stuck with the nut job that is Joseph Seed). Kind of a weird situation Ubisoft got themselves into with FC5 and its endings...

    • @ragelion

I've said what I said about how I feel about the endings, but then I thought about something. Does every game truly need an ending thats labeled good or bad. Whats truly a good ending or bad ending? Maybe each ending has its own reason as to why it is what it is. Some people (like myself) think both endings are bad, others think the nuke is good because it elimates majority of the cult, yet unfortunately Joseph seed lives, then others consider it a bad ending if you leave and let the cult live on to cause more chaos. Then again, Nuke would be considered bad, because everyone you became close with, dies, and then leaving ending would be considered good because no one dies and there's no big bomb. Is there really a good or bad ending? Because from what I'm seeing, its all about how you, the player, experience the game and how you take in the outcome of your actions. See it as however you like, just remember, should it truly be a labeled ending to games like these?

It depends when you walk away though because when you do it in the beginning, you miss a lot of gameplay but when you do it in the end, the Father still wins because he turns on the radio and it puts you into "slaughter mode" and you kill everyone in the car. So honestly either way its just not a great option

Wow... all those endings were super depressing. I mean, Far Cry has never been a cheery game, but this one? Joseph wins in all scenarios. he gets to keep doing what he's doing.
IDk, can we have a "happy" ending? Joe goes to jail. you can even make dark, like he just starts the cult up again in the prison, but I put in all this work for Hope County for... nothing?

    • @Havrrics
      @Havrrics 6 лет назад +6

Curse Me Good Pretty much. My question is does the county go up in flames in all the endings or just the one you see it happen in? Either way I have several problems with that, for instance Nick Rye and his wife have their daughter born during the game, which was very touching, but then you remember the "good" ending. Did Nick and his family die? Does Ubisoft do baby killing now? Wait, yes they do, as Joseph himself explained. Another thing is Hurk, is he dead too? He's supposed to appear in every Far Cry game, so is Ubisoft breaking franchise tradition on top of killing babies? Or does this signify the end of Far Cry? If so what a mediocre note to end it on. The gameplay is nice, but the story couldn't be worse.

So let me get this straight:
Ending one is a nuclear explosion caused by the cult or by some forigne Nation.
Ending two is driving away but once the radio got turned on I think the Silent Protagonist got set into a trance like with that music box & killed everyone in the car.
Ending Three (or the secret ending, I think) is getting a warrant to arrest the cult leader but doing so would get you killed, so rather than that happen we just... Walk away & probably got fired.
Man, idk if its just me but I don't like this game after seeing the boss fights & the other endings. Sheesh, you'd think at least in one of them the cult leader would die but nah. He lives regardless no matter what we do & continues with his violent ways.
That to me, blows. 🙅 still not buying this game.
    I appreciate the video 👍

No illegal weapon dealer would ever sell nuke to fanatics. Dealers want cash not world end. 2nd and 3rd are pure bullshit.
+Firas Do you know what is diffeence between good game and book? When you know story in book you don't have reason to read it again. When you know story from good game you still want to do it by yourself for gameplay and own choices. Here? GP is just FarCry 3 version 5.0 and ending ruins plot. FC3 had crazy tribebitch which used random guy to kill her cray brother and his crazy boss. Random guy killing tons of trained mercs are lttle unbeliveable, but still ok. Ending? You become same shit crazy as all at Island or stay sane.
FC 4? Didn't know why Gale can't become Golden Path leader uf eerybody respect him, but still ok. FC 5? Much bigger requirements, go with little changes and ending with:
      1. Strange explosions changing plot.
      2. Killing all just to walk away just b4 completing job.
      3. Just driving to place and walking away without even trying.
2nd and 3rd choices are just stupid and NONE allow us to arrest Seed.
+John Moo plus it's just too overused. In each FC game we have one or few drugged boss fights.

I honestly feel like the "Leave it be" ending is the better of the two. Mainly because of how Joseph reacts to you leaving him. I personally felt bad about killing his entire family, especially in the cutscenes after you kill each herald. Also, "Forgive, and you will be forgiven" tugged the strings a little bit.
Also, if people are right and the Leave it Be ending cuts off before the nuke, then I am sure Joseph would be more than willing to let you go in his bunker after you left him with what little he had left.

Professor Snuggles I just enjoyed the twist at the end that threw my perceptions throughout the game upside down. Realising in one horrible moment that he was RIGHT about the collapse made me question what my character had been doing throughout the game. Sure the cultists weren't great but were the actions of the main character much different? We all fight for what we believe in even if it goes against the greater good. The deputy fought a cult leader that regardless of all his faults was genuinely trying to save people. Who in that situation is the real 'bad guy'?, are there any bad guys? I suppose I just enjoyed the questions it asked and having Joseph survive made it ultimately more bittersweet and mind bending for me (sorry for the length)

  • @TwinHuginHelmet
    @TwinHuginHelmet 6 лет назад +2

I'm really unimpressed with the endings of Far Cry 5.
The "bad" ending: Either Joseph or a foreign power launches a nuclear strike upon Montana. For the sake of how far I'm willing to suspend my disbelief, I'll say the Cult. Why? Because I refuse to accept when something in the bigger universe that has nothing to do with your acts happens just because you made one in game choice, while said event is left out if you pick the other choice. TFU2 did this, and it's shit game writing at it's peak. Therefore, I say the Cult did it.
The sum of this ending: Joseph will blow up an entire state to convince himself he's right when someone actually hands his ass to him.
The "good" ending: You agree to leave, fuck off from there, and presumably kill the rest of the gang in the car. I sorta like it, and it feels like it could totally happen from where we stand in universe. But if Joseph could trigger you to kill them all, then why didn't he do so when you gave him the middle finger in scenario one? This ties back to what I said about the "bad" ending. Don't introduce factors standing outside the overall scenario within one ending if they aren't included in the others. One can still contrive excuses for it in the case of the trance, and why Joseph didn't use it in the "bad" ending, but they would feel more like excuses than actual reasons.
The sum of this ending: Joseph will gladly cut any loose ends. Good on him. Rather boring, but still.
The secret ending: You agree to leave, fuck off from there, and that's it.
The sum of this ending: Absolutely fucking zero. No answers, no character insight... Nothing.
I feel like Far Cry 5 is where the story developers had completely tired of writing the characters and the story. They try to do what they did with Vaas and Pagan Min - both brilliant villains, obviously completely insane, but still oddly human - in particular Pagan - and both of them were, at a fundamental degree right in their ideologies and ways of thinking. They were still fucked up individuals, but they had a point, and that's one of the strongest points of FC3 and 4. That no matter what you did, the villain had a point in what he said.
Joseph Seed? He's a religious nutjobb who will raze the state he's in to the ground with nuclear weapons just to get to say he's right. Not saying that doesn't make a potentially very threatening villain(if handled correctly), but I feel like they're trying to sell him in as being right, no matter what happens. And they just didn't achieve this.
Ah, maybe I'm just searching too deeply. Maybe he's just intended as a religious nutjobb who will raze the state he's in to the ground with nuclear weapons just to get to say he's right. That's fine to. But I've come to expect more of Far Cry Villains, and while I had great fun playing the game, the story left me very unsatisfied.

This has been a constant problem throughout the narratives of the far cry games since 3. They aim to subvert genre tropes by bombarding you with those very same tropes. Like I'm a bad person for murdering all those cultists? utilising the mechanics that not only you put in place, but made REALLY fun?
"Oh well just walk away at the start then"
Aha. £50. To not play a game. Yes.

It had to have been an isolated incident. First off no country would waste nukes on a county in the middle of nowhere in Montana. Second, if it was sent from another country, it would have wiped out hope county with one nuke quickly, because modern nukes are way more devastating. Third, if the world was at war and it resulted in nukes this would not only taint the franchise of Far Cry but technically kill the connected games theory that Ubisoft has been establishing. Meaning no Far Cry 6, Assassins Creed, Watch Dogs 3, etc.. also Joseph seems like the dude that would fake the apocalypse to keep his flock

I think it’s great, makes you think about how life isn’t always fair or that sometimes the answer isn’t what we like. I know some people will argue that video games are supposed to be escapism from real life. You can still enjoy the game and do everything you like but walking away making you think is an added bonus too.

Why are people complaining about there being no good ending? The game stayed true to itself. Right from the get go, the Sheriff and the Father said that it's better for everyone if you just leave(maybe then coming back with the national guard or whatever). So the secret ending is the best option actually. But if you decide to stay in this mess, killing hunderds and hunderds of people, getting drug addicted, your mind being manipulated and them constantly trying to make you believe and follow ''the path'', ofcores there will be no good ending after all of that shit, for you, and your helpless friends. And for me this was the best FarCry story yet. In FarCry 3 there was only Vaas, everyone else(I can't even remember any of them) was forgettable and uninteresting whatsoever. Also about who had the better villain, for me the Father is more intimidating than Vaas because he fully believes in everything he is saying and doing, also almost everything he is saying about what's wrong with today's society is true. His actions are evil, but his words are true. Whilst Vaas was a psychopath and evil in everything he said and done. Both are really really great, but the Father edges it for me because of what he is saying.

I really don't think the nuke ending is the bad ending because it's the only logical ending and I don't like how ubisoft tries to shove down our throut that the father was right. OK he knew the prohecy but that doesn't mean he can form a violent cult and kill people who do not agree. what I mean is his knowledge of the world coming to an end does not justify his actions. So in the end when he sais" I was right " I said fuck you, youre not.Great game but mediocre story and not a well thought out ending.

Situation with FC5 looks exactly the same, as with Mass Effect 3 ending, They add some extra endings, because people's hate original endings. I think, Ubi also add alternative endings after critical opinions from players. I like endings in Ubisoft games, but this one in FC5 sucks. It looks like ending from AC Black Flag, we want to be a hero, much guys die, ok, but we kill much of bad guys, not a good guys. In AC:BF all our friends die, because Edward want to find Observatory. Anyway, there are only two good for us guys, Thatch and Marry, another are assholes. In FC3 we want to save our friends, in this time we save all people's on the island from pirates what is good, at the end we can still finished this, what we want to do and save our friends, so there is a good ending, no matter what happen's with Citra(anyway if we look at the Joseph, Citra looks exactly the same, this is fucking cult). In Far Cry 4 we have a choice again, at the start we really haven't any reason's to kill Pagan Min. There's only personal war before Sabal and Amita, but Sabal is the same as Pagan, Amita want to go in the future, what for me was a good choice. But Far Cry 5? We can walk away, Joseph's cult still burn all, kill the people's, steal what they want, if we try to kill him, he destroy all with fucking nukes, or, we can again walk away, but at the end we kill our friends. Wtf Ubi? We play more than 20 hours for saving people's in Montana and our "friends" and at the end all fucked up, cause crazy Joseph Seed have a right? So, in Far Cry 5 we haven't any good, or neutral(if we walk away, cult still destroy all) ending. Ubisoft kill this series. I know, in all Far Cry games we haven't really good ending's, but we have a choice, and the choice is this, what players want.

Dear People who are saying The endings don't make sense:
Let me tell you about a game called "Outlast"....
The ending in that didn't make any sense....But they made a DLC called "Whistleblower" which was even scarier and more fucked up than the original game ( Jesus Christ I still remember it ) which they kinda explained what happened / made a better ending.....
Now....I'm don't work in Ubisoft or either can predict the future but I'm 90% sure that Ubisoft.....is going to do the same thing.....
Because let's be honest.....People would so buy that.....and Ubisoft knows it too......
Sooooooooooo......I guess you should stop complaining and wait for a DLC or Someone explaining the endings in a video couple of months later ( kinda like Bo3 where the story and the endings didn't make any sense even tho I played it like 100 times Until like.... Couple of months later, I found video in RUclips where somebody explained it in 30 minutes or something.....)

What happens in the second ending? I have not played the game so I don't know what that his eyes turning red was...

I think the nuke ending should have given the option to take down Joseph. Like kick him in the face while he's leering at you, then strangle him with your thighs, then sit and starve to death because you're handcuffed to the bed. Kinda goofy, but it grants the player the option to have some satisfaction. I don't think this is too goofy for this game however, this game literally has a diabetic bear as a companion.

Man! If they add another ending that is so good, Rook and his gang would be sending everything they got at them (if they didn't try to arrest Joseph Seed aka The Father) Even the *resistance* too, and the damn *National Guard* on their side against the Cultists. And none other than that, this is going to be "Waco Siege" all over again. This time it's 2.0 😮

Only good ending is to walk away and let NG smash lunatics.
About that Joseph: he is obviously mad but it appears he is a real prophet who saw something from the future (nuclear disaster).

The resist ending is brilliant the more you watch it.
