Big Papa - You should record with camera angles/position to show exactly what you are doing. Also - You said you were going to adjust the truss rod "a very tiny amount" you then proceeded to crank the truss nut about 6 times at approx. 1/8 turn each time. I was very disturbed and confused
I purchased a 2 year old fg 830 in pristine condition. I discovered it needed the nut and the saddle replaced. The nut was loose in the slot and had not been glued. The saddle was also very loose. Both got replaced with Tusq from Graphtec and the pins were replaced with Tusq too. I reduced the saddle height for better action. The pin holes needed to be enlarged because the pins were too tight. The original pins were even more tight. I did the work myself so the cost was minimal and now it is a great instrument.
Seemed like a solid instrument. Has great tone and the fresh set of strings really made this one ring like a bell. Sounds like a keeper instrument for you.
i have a yamaha ll56 custom and i've tried to tighten the neck with a 5mm and and 4mm allen wrench but they won't fit. any suggestions? different size maybe?
Usually 4 or 5 mm is standard on all nonUSA guitars. Be sure the wrench is secure before turning. I measured all of mine with a micrometer and labeled each with shrink wrap. Treat your truss rods with care. A little goes a long way.
I have an FG830, LL6M A.R.E. and LS6 from Yamaha. Great guitars.
Ordered one friday Supposed to be here Monday. Can't wait !

The make and model of this guitar do not matter. Strings are strings unless using nylon strings.
