I don't know because murao's last performance is very impressive but i see something very robust in tajima's style... he is very explosive and every projections are spectacular and often awarded by a true ukemi.... seldomly a roll up.... that's a real judo style... he deserves a judo award for the beauty of his style...
me toooo!!
Tajima never lost to Murao if I'm not mistaken.
They fought three times Tajima won all three.
@@reymysterio13__50 indeed. That's a difficult and audacious choice...
@@christianmichon1940 it's not really difficult unfortunately. Before this tournament Tajima just didn't have very good results internationally even though he's actually a junior world champion (2017). He's not very consistent internationally even if he's one of the best in Japan (especially in his weight class), and you need to be consistently good in both areas if you want to compete regularly.
Meanwhile, Murao is incredibly consistent and does regularly medal even if he doesn't necessarily win. Murao's biggest roadblock is actually Bekauri since Murao lost at the junior world championship to Bekauri in the finals, and Murao has never beaten him.
I like Tajima's style of judo (possibly more than Murao's) but I expected him to fall out early because that's been the case for most of his previous appearances.
Needless to say I'm pleasantly surprised.
Sooooooo happy to see him on the top of podium. Tajima's dad and mom were there, and I heard his mom taught him all his Katsugi-waza.
watching this again and i think tajima is coming up there to being my favorite judoka in - 90kg
he seems like a really earnest and sweet guy wishing the best for him
great winning!!! Like the very moving commentating. I have been paying attention on Tajima for the last several years and knew this was coming. So happy for him!!!
Marcus Nyman competes often and trains seriously. He just has a full time career in addition to being an athlete. This is his fourth Olympics and he medaled at Worlds last year. He also threw Majdov recently.....
He’s a tank! I trained with his team mates not too long ago. Nothing but crazy stories
@@JudoHighlights2015 would love to hear them. He's one of my favorite judoka. I asked Sweden's former coach about Nyman at a recent training camp. One of the most interesting guys on the IJF tour. He seems to think the freedom he gets from working full time, despite only receiving partial funding as a result of his choice, is worth it. You can't really argue with the results.
@@milanojudo I saw him at his club , literaly came with his work pant . Very impressiv story, impressive athlete and also very kind
@@Thejudonomad Nice! You have a good channel by the way....
Someone who has a "normal" job outside judo and still competing internationally is more impressive than most stuff full time athletes do IMO.
Quite a display of endurance and stamina! Not only did he go six rounds, but most of his matches went the distance and beyond!
Great story with the inclusion of TAJIMA's family in the stands.
Thankyou for shareing this fantastic judoka true Japanese style i will never stop being amazed at the origins judo 🙏 may god bless his path in life
Once again thankyou
all my bros love judo highlights
singlehandedly bringing life into judo commentating. Another great video !"
Glad you enjoyed it!
So beautiful!!!!!!!❤
Hazem of Egypt fought really well actually
Tajima-Spieler ist stark! Glückwunsch. 🇯🇵
At 5:02-5:08Tajima used hara gatame.
ah that's right! cheers!
I thought the same. it's not often used so people tends to forget it
Tajima is only 1 cm taller than Sasaki who is just one weight category below him but also really short for his category.
It's interesting both Japanese who won at this WC are from Tsukuba. Okada must be proud.
Short Japanese judo players doing well these days. Go Hojo!
@@JudoHighlights2015 I'm also the same height as Tajima and roughly in between his and Sasaki's weight. Probably plays into why I enjoy watching them.
The future of Japan is in the short kings.
Note the cauliflower ear on Tajima’s father… 😊
definitely
This weight traditionally belongs to Georgians. Bekauri and Maisuradze were not at the tournament this time.
I think Tajima would’ve thrown Bekauri this time around…
@@JudoHighlights2015 And Maisuradze was a baaaad boy so we won't see him for a while...
Very different style to that of murao interested to see if a rivalry develops between the two and how it could play out
I believe Tajima won every time they fought each other
Bekauri will only compete in the Olympics so we’ll see the real bests in there not here just like Abes and many others, although 81 kg did have the best competing in here to be fair
I think you'd classfiy at that a wake gatame variation due to the rotation of tori's body?
Hello ! The arm bar of tajima is more a hara gatame than a juji gatame ;)
5.08 is (ude hishigi) hara gatame I think
I think Murao Sanshiro became champion in this category,
Murao has never been world champion
will be video about Lukas Krpalek?
If you see right at the end at the quarter final, Tajima bleeds from his eyebrow.
Basic ude garami from half guard found in BJJ.
Tajima stands right and throws left.
🇯🇵❤️🫰
What’s the literal English translation for Yagura Nage?
Yagura means tower or any similar structure. Nage means throw. The name comes from Sumo, not Judo afaik.
Towering throw, I guess would fit.
It's more modified to today's Judo as front uchimata, but I think it was originally picking up vertically and that the opponent was shooting up high, which made the look of a tower.
@@AceInose maybe, I've only ever really heard guys from English speaking countries call it Front Uchimata. Not sure when that started.....
Afaik, yagura was a sumo player and nage means throw

Really enjoy your channel but could we please say judoka and not player please
But they’re not Judoka they’re judo Senshu… 🫢
