I watched alot of "Just a few acres" and thiugh your telling his story pretty close to what he's doing, your still off. His family owned that land and they farmed it. He left and eventually came back. He did completely renovate that home from top down.

I think as 23 year old male in this society some type of farming is essential for survival in today’s economy. Not speaking on an industrial scale but a local scale as in just my family and I. I’m personally a music education major, who had the idea to grow my own food so I could buy more Music instruments. Point is I think a garden is very essential in every community small or big.

53:00 This is me hand down, I want to sell my house in the suburb and move to the countryside. The problem I find from the land from down under is starting a farm on the right land.
Here are some of the questions that weren't asked or answered.
It all comes down to the right location and price,
What are you using the land for?
Are you using it for fruit and veg or livestock?
What type of soil or grass do you need for fruit and veg or livestock?
Water: dams, creek, tank, what state laws do you have to follow?

I would like to comment on some your tax statements that are clearly in error. I farmed for 49 years and have been a CPA for nearly 30 years. First of all, tax credits are not all bad. It is only the nonrefundable tax credits that are a joke. No income, no tax credit. A refundable tax credit does not require income and any tax credit will be applied to any tax owed first and if no tax is owed the entire tax credit would be refunded to the filer. John Edwards, when he ran for president wanted to make the healthcare insurance premium a refundable tax credit. Great idea, your insurance premium tax credit would be applied to any tax you owed and if no tax owed your entire healthcare insurance premium would be refunded to you. As to half the people who don't pay any tax that couldn't be further from the truth. Working poor people pay all kinds of taxes starting with social security. They pay gas taxes, property taxes, sale taxes and even taxes on their beer and cigarettes. A tax is still a tax no matter what the hell you call it. Your neighbor who rents his farm out for cash pays no social security on the rent money. People that come from wealth and only have stocks, bonds and rents pay no social security. This is all unearned income not subject to social security and Medicare taxes. As self-employed you pay 15.3% social security on your earnings. Your corporations that you occasionally defend only contribute 10% to 15% of the total federal revenue. Individuals pay nearly half of the federal revenue with excise and other taxes paying the remainder. Socialism without capitalism is communism and capitalism without socialism is fascism. As a fellow moocher such as yourselves who collected farm subsidies the whole way and never exactly knew what each subsidy was for - although I did figure out how to spend the money. Please review regressive taxes such as sales taxes, gas taxes, property taxes and other taxes not based on income and perhaps your view will change on who does and doesn't pay taxes. Also send any rebuttal arguments to Larry Congdendorf, Kenosha, Wisconsin C\O Baldwin Telecom.

The value of U.S. agricultural exports, not adjusting for inflation, peaked in fiscal year 2022 before declining in 2023. Total exports were valued at $178.7 billion in 2023, a $17 billion decrease from 2022.
In 2022, the federal government provided farms with $15.6 billion in subsidies, or direct farm program payments.
Remember Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? Yep that was a $154bn subsidy which was entirely covered by one year of Ag exports GDP.
Did you know the WTO bans export subsidies? So most of these agricultural subsidies go towards loans and infrastructure. Some is for CRP, or rather paying farmers to not farm land and restore plains and wetlands.
Now go repeat your uneducated talking points to your barista you loser.
