A very rare moment...not easy to recreate the Opera on the Concert Stage...but these two great Singers connected, to raise us into Puccini's magical world...astonishing, thx deeply
Just beautiful! I love the way they are so perfectly in character. And the way she sneaks a look at the conductor (her husband!) after her flirtatious line at 3:03.

As a romantic diehard......it doesn't get any better than this duet. Pavarotti and d'amici did this beautifully as well. As did Tetelman and Opalais.

I remember watching this on tv many years ago. Absolutely beautiful, riveting. But you can already hear an unhealthy tremolo in Opolais’s voice and, sure enough, she rarely performs today. Her voice is beautiful, but she needs to re-study her technique.

Amici della musica salve , Mefistofile opera poco rappresentata ,un po pesante se ascoltata per intero ,ma il prologo e sopratutto il finale signori che meraviglia se.... Fatta come Dio comanda ,con interpreti d'ecezzione ,un direttore e un regista altrettanto bravi .

I definitely do like Hoffmanns voice. He sings everything with a potato voice. I like a clear tenor much beter.

Kaufmann ist ein ganz schlechter Tenor. Siehe Pavarotti,Domingo,Lanza. Di Stephano, Mario del Monaco, Fritz Wunderlich. Mir ist ein Raetsel wie er zum Star wurde. Das ist halt nicht mehr wie SB. SB hat und hatte wesentlcih besseres Potenzial.
