►💪 Are you a personal trainer? Wish you spent less on continuing education credits? Me too!
That's why I spent a few dozen hours sorting them by cost in order to find the cheapest courses. You can find my results in the table below (I made it for ACE because that's who I'm certified with, but most courses apply to other organizations as well):

About a month ago, I asked the fellas at Spot Grips (John and TJ) to send me a set to review for the channel. They were kind enough to oblige!
This sophisticated dumbbell and barbell spotting system can be yours for $500 on their site, or $540 on EliteFTS (not sure why there's such a difference). They weigh ~10 lbs each (they're very beefy) with ~2-2.5 lbs of counter pull (adjust your dumbbell weight accordingly when training with them). They have a 2500 lbs weight limit. I've trained with 140 lbs on them, but they should be able to support 200+ DBs. I've also used them with bands (gripping the end of the bands and running the band underneath my back). They have a 2 year warranty.
I've used them with Iron Master Quick Locks, Rogue, Hammer Strength, and generic dumbbells. I'm told it IS possible to use them with Power Blocks, but it's not officially supported (you have to take the Power Blocks apart first...not sure how that works...I'll let you know if I find out).
*They come with the Spot Grips themselves, the orange nylon straps, the carabiners, and the Velcro piece for barbell training.

Check the DESCRIPTION for TIME STAMP LINKS! As usual, I rant and sweat a lot, so if you want to jump around to the parts that interest you, scroll down in the description to see where I talk about set up, action, dumbbell and barbell demos, etc

I have these and love them for my Smith machine. My only complaint is that they don't work with the Bowflex dumbbells.

Ah, didn't know that about the bowflex. I love them too. Been holding up great

Bought a set 3 months ago. They're Awesome! I use them for dumbbell pressing movements. They save your shoulders on setup & are amazing for working till failure. If you can afford them they are definitely worth the money. Do you have any tips on maintenance or keeping them lubricated?

Do you still have the spotgrips? While expensive, they do appear to be worth it if you want to lift heavy dumbbells safely by yourself.

Hey, you said these will work with your iron master dumbbells, if you have a heavy handle kit for the iron masters, will it still fit within the spot grips?

And always thanks for the Contant Rob, I am 100% completely blind and you do such a thorough job on the equipment you go over even us blind guys understand the equipment Before we purchase

@eddiegravage7863 dude, that means so much to me. My biggest criticism is how long winded I am (and it's warranted), but I never thought about long descriptions being helpful to visually impaired folks.
If there's anything you need a good description of that you know I have, please let me know

Yes sir, I have the 120 set and it works great. Still use them pretty often. Not sure about the big boy 160s, but I don't see why it would be an issue

@ThreeStormFitness The heavy handle kit OP is referring to is a set of plates that are fastened directly around the non-knurled portion of the IronMasters' handles for the purpose of making the weight feel more balanced, in addition to increasing the total weight without increasing the total dumbbell length. Since the heavy handle kit shortens the grippable space on the handle, OP is wondering if the spot grips will still have enough space.
The Spot Grips product page claims a 4-11/16" width while IronMaster's product page for the heavy handle kit claims that the kit leaves more than 5" of grippable space. So there should be enough room for the Spot Grips, although I can't confirm this myself.

Way too clumsy the dumbell drone is way better

    • @ThreeStormFitness
      @ThreeStormFitness  4 года назад +2

Dumbbell drone looks like an amazing piece of gear and I'd love the chance to play with one. That said, it's over twice the price of the spot grips (which I honestly don't think are clumsy at all... Sorry if I made them look that way). Can the DB drone with with a barbell? I realize my barbell demo probably left a bit to be desired, but the learning curve is pretty quick.
If I get a chance to ever use the DB drone, I'll be sure to post my experience. Thanks for chiming in!
