    This intro did a really good job of evolving along with TV trends. This screams 1991 the way the original screamed 1978. Genuinely impressive.

    • @DerekWitt
      @DerekWitt 2 года назад +4

      Yeah, the infamous dream season didn't help the show much. I think the beginning of the end was the 88-89 season. The final season was a strange one I thought. Falcon Crest was also going down hill its final season (also 1990).
      Even with the final seasons of both Dallas and Falcon Crest, both shows made Friday nights very enjoyable. I also loved watching Knots Landing on Thursdays and to some extent Dynasty on Wednesday nights. I miss these shows.
      I remember the few crossover episodes between Dallas and Knots Landing, with the latter being a spin-off of Dallas.
      Imagine what would happen if JR Ewing were to meet up with Angela Chaning!

    Looking back, I can understand why people in Houston were so bitter about this show in the 1970s, 80s and early 90s being called Dallas. The show flaunted the oil industry with oil derricks and offshore oil rigs....that's totally Houston's bag, their economy, their specialty. But Hollywood made a show about this and called it "Dallas" instead of "Houston"....which was the real oil town. I have a feeling the Cowboys winning all those Super Bowls is what made Dallas more appealing to make a TV show about.

    In high school I lived about 10 minutes from South Fork Ranch. That last shot of the house is so funny! It doesn’t sit on a large piece of land way off the road. They used camera trickery and a wide focus lens to create that illusion. You could stand at the fence and easily throw an object to hit the house. It’s also not that big.

It was later revealed that J.R. had not shot himself, but had instead shot at the mirror where the spirit "Adam" (Joel Grey) was appearing to him. However, when the revival series began in 2012, J.R. was still alive.

When he was a 'cad' and irritated the livin' hell out of you....the show was so far above anything broadcasted, it was almost worthy of Oscars. He improvised and knew when to smile as the camera panned-off...but when you're trashed day-in and day-out...unfortunately, you lose your grip.

    What made no sense at all was why they kept Sheree J. Wilson on the credits after her character was killed off early in the final season.
    Never understood why they did that.

    I'm writing that my name is Josh and i would like it if Warner Bros. studios was to make all 356 episodes from all 14 se asons of DALLAS available to stream on their streaming service MAX in December 2024.or January 2025.

    Having watched two episodes of the new series, which seems good so far (bonus), you have to wonder what the hell is going on in the world. I wouldn't wish death on anyone. But Larry Hagman was never really so low on the grim reaper's call list that he managed to pull off JR in 2013? But it seems destined to happen. I say Cliff Barnes makes a return too. OK, he's a lung cancer survivor, but he's (Ken Kerchaval) a LUNG CANCER survivor. Many years too! If Cliff came back, well, word's don't....
