God this fight is so perfect. The rivalry they had been building up for so long, the incredible action and animation, the brilliant tactics used by both of them, and the finale that shows how far gon has come, yet how much more he needed to grow to stand on an even playing field with hisoka.

But I don't think he's evil for evil's sake, in that he has an insidious motive beyond "It's fun and it feels good". Moreover, he actively has standards for the people he hunts, and a code that he follows, because it serves his own interests.
I think you could make the argument for either alignment. But then, the D&D alignment system was never that great, much as I like it.

This is actually one of the few occasions where I think the 2011 gives the original a run for its money. It's not better, just different and in a way that works. The OG choose to pause on key moments where as this just flows one moments to the next.
