I have similar background! My parents are tegadelti. I grew up with my grand parents. They raised me as their son, under my grand father’s name. Finally, my mother came but my father was martyred at Rora Brij in selahta werar! I remember on the day Tegadelti entered Asmara (Friday, May 24, 1991) and the whole week after, i had gone everywhere in Asmara asking any tegadalay about my parents. They all said ‘yes manjus, they are coming from Sahil’.. My mother came a two weeks later. It was a an exciting day .. i still remember that day my mother came home after twelve years. It was around noon, the neighborhood kids, i dont remember their names now, brought her to home.. Both My mother and grand mother cried and it was a happy time. .. but my father didnt come and when i asked my mother about my father, she told me he was in Asab and would come home. she knew he was martyred long time ago, but she gave me same answer as the other tegadelti. Zelalemawi zikri nsemaetatna!!!!!awet nhafah!!

I was moved by listening to Pastor Daniel.This is very close to my heart and like every family in Eritrea I’ve lost my little brother during 1998 war but immensely proud. He is my hero. The strangle for independent and defending the sovereignty of our beloved country touch the lives of every families in Eritrea,Memorial Day (June 20) gives us all time to remember what these amazing people sacrificed for us.we need to give thanks to war disabled veterans, and people that are currently serving or who have served. It is important that we do not forget those who survived (like KUBUR H’AW Pastor Daniel Tsegay ) returned with memories of war we can only imagine. Without their bravery, we would not have a country and be the same people we are today. Every single one of those people deserves to be remembered with honour and dignity. we all owe a debt of gratitude to those who fought for our beloved Eritrea. Remembering their service and their sacrifice, They believed that their actions would make a significant difference for the future, but it is up to us to ensure that their fight for freedom and Justice was not in vain. Thanks for this interview. This is a moving and authentic life experience of Daniel Tsegay. On a personal basis, my heart goes out to him and all those who were not able to grow up with their fathers and mothers. Daniel explained how his experience is not so extraordinary as many other Eritreans have similar stories. This is what Eritreans paid to bring freedom and liberty to Eritrea. May the time comes when all this loss and stories will be acknowledged, recorded and pay tribute to them as these are the heroes who sacrificed so much. It is a tragedy that now all kinds of confused stance is adopted by some deluded Eritreans. Let's educate ourselves, raise our consciousness and get our priorities right.

This is a moving and authentic life experience of Daniel Tsegay. On a personal basis, my heart goes out to him and all those who were not able to grow up with their fathers and mothers. Daniel explained how his experience is not so extraordinary as many other Eritreans have similar stories. This is what Eritreans paid to bring freedom and liberty to Eritrea. May the time comes when all this loss and stories will be acknowledged, recorded and pay tribute to them as these are the heroes who sacrificed so much.
It is a tragedy that now all kinds of confused stance is adopted by some deluded Eritreans. Let's educate ourselves, raise our consciousness and get our priorities right.
