When I had the bike I didn’t mess with the suspension at all. I’m 5’11 and at the time I was 160lb. So the suspension was good for me. On my KTM I run the bars on the second holes and it did make a big difference, especially while standing. And yes, the exhaust is a good mod it wakes up the bike a lot. also with the exhaust you are probably gonna need a tune, so if you get one you might also need to get a power commander. Hey, I have never ridden a Yamaha, so I can’t really tell you if it is better than the klx300r or not, but what I can tell you is that the klx is really smooth in every aspect. I’m guessing that the Yamaha might be faster and lighter. But in my opinion this bike can do everything you want it to do. I have done some gnarly stuff with it and it performs just fine. It’s really capable, like if you got the skills you can easily keep up with any bike. Something I really like about the yz250 4 stroke is the sound, it sounds amazing, I have seen a couple on the trail and they sound a lot better than the klx.
