I think the reason it's creepy to most people is because it's almost like forced or imposed intimacy. There were no previous relationships or experiences and so this casual closeness in unsettling.
I feel like the reason people think it's creepy is it forces you to a level of vulnerability most people are not comfortable with. It is meant to make you look deeper, like meditation.
At first I thought this video was creepy, but now I think it's soothing. I think it's soothing because it kind of puts you in a vulnerable position. You are weirded out and can't look away, yet this character isn't asking anything of you and that's kinda nice. He simply tells you nice things for the sake of saying nice things. Good on the creator!

darien You must be an old soul. I'm 19 too, and I felt the same way. The creators of the Hi Stranger video created something with postive affirmations rather than it being "creepy". I agree that the teens seemed too over the top, really reminds me of how others would react to it when around people. I don't get how others can't use critical thinking to see the ingenious of the video instead of thinking "OMG so weird, I'll send it to my friends and creep them out".
I actually really love Hi Stranger and it makes me a bit emotional because the way I interpreted it, the video is about a persons inner voice telling them to love themselves.
Y'know, Hi Stranger freaked me out at first but after the tiny little laugh after his butt comment I found everything else very calming and reassuring and not that weird. I even found myself telling the poor little guy that I loved him too. And I do, I think, in a weird way.
am i the only one who actually liked the video? to me, it accurately expressed intimacy without making it too sexual. there's the vulnerability you feel at first during intimate moments, and later on the feeling dissipates and you feel relaxed, soothed being around this person. and if people are still creeped out as to why he's naked, i thought it was like to express the dude's own vulnerability. intimacy is a two way thing. i open up to you, you open up to me kinda thing.. that's why he lets you see his butt, and later on, we become vulnerable when he talks about being hard on ourselves, etc. idk. since, a lot of people just find this creepy maybe i'm just fooling myself. but yeah, i still like the video :)
Honestly though, as bizzare as the video is, I kind of get how it's relaxing. I feel like the naked guy is an embodiment of our inner conscience. He's reminding us to slow down our chaotic lives and just rest, whilst soaking up the beautiful, abundant aspects our planet has to offer. At least, that's how I interpreted it.
love the video, the author, created a character with no boundaries, no limits, full of freedom and love, no prejudices of good and evil, if you get confused, is cause you deny some parts of yourself xP

matrixvalnar That's what I was feeling. Perhaps a lot of people would find it uncomfortable, but I feel like this was a film that was for a particular group. Like maybe there are people who really need to hear the positive words, and by focusing on the video, it causes them to internalize the words, and maybe the meanings. When I first watched it, I was actually thinking of a friend of mine from high school who has been struggling with bipolar for a long time, and I feel helpless when he has really hard days. I wasn't sure whether to send this video to him. Still thinking about it...
