have you heard about the Romanian car Dacia with the new upgrade from Renault the new 4x4 Dacia Duster Pickup Truck, SUV or the Off-Road?
Geez, now cars need an adblocker?

Yes , we even had to opt out through Honda, for data from the car.
Just put a cover over that antennae. I see a market for a product!

Yes, Google tracks it all. You can turn a lot of it off.

Just disconnect the OnStar from the fuse box or behind the rear view mirror there is a wire just unplug it & then its shut off. The most annoying part is once a month they email you a lot of crap saying you need this & that. If you not subscribe to OnStar it can still send info so make sure you unplug it.
that doesnt work for new gm cars
@@cantwealljustgetalong2 I did it on my 2023 Terrain & Equinox
Didn't work on my 2015 Chevy Volt. Unplugging the tracking thing has disabled the whole car for me, won't shift gears or anything. The best I could do was unplug the RF connector for the GPS signal.
@drsysop can you do a video on how to do it? i have a 22 malibu, 13 lacrosse and a 24 equinox lol....i dont know if the lacrosse might be too old to be tracking me anymore, i never had an onstar account linked to that one. but definitely on the malibu and equinox, cause right after i got the malibu my insurance more than doubled

It's opt-in, but the way they trick you is that the dealer DEMANDS that he manhandle your phone, and they'll opt you in without you knowing.
@humbughumbughumbug
Who is dumb enough to do that?
Jeeeez...
They tried to manhandle my phone also, but they didn’t have my password and I didn’t remember it so I couldn’t sign up for the app. They can keep their three free oil changes. I don’t want them knowing my phone contacts, email contacts, who calls me and who I call it’s none of their business.@@humbughumbughumbug

You have to opt out.
VW also tracks your driving. Bought one not too long ago and recently started to use the app more when I noticed the Drive View option. Turns out its been scoring my driving for 6 months and I never noticed. Every time you break hard or take a sharp turn your score goes down. Living in a city where thats just part of the driving gave me a low score so I disabled it.
Their definition of hard braking is anything more than barely tapping the pedals
For many gm cars the onstaar device is removable, as it was for mine. Find a video on how to do it for your year and model. As soon as done the vehicle starts faster after you turn the key. The device is connected to the OBD2, or CAN, bus and records and sends all info. Best of luck to all.
TY
i doubt it. maybe for the older ones like pre 2018.... but the newest ones i doubt it.
nope. A few years ago I had a 2015 Chevy Volt, wanted to remove the module that tracks me - that box which has the RF antenna cables connected to it. I removed it, and guess what? Car won't start, brakes won't work, car just started rolling, can't shift gears, nothing. Seems the tracker thing was also the main module that runs the car ...
When Scotty says "do not buy", you might want to listen and not *buy*, because chances are you might not be able to disable the tracking without disabling the whole car :( .
Better yet just dont be stupid enough to buy the pos gm in the 1st place
@konnorj6442 id rather have gm than ford or stellantis
If it has a computer, it’s tracking you and sending your data to the manufacturers. Been doing it for years.
exactly and its not only gm, my infiniti does the same thing and it tells you its doing it. you can shut it off but it automatically goes back on the next time you start the car. also if you shut it off it says it still sends transmits certain info
I opted out. Got a card verifying the opt out.
@@sl4983 you may have opted out but they’re still collecting your data.

I have used Uber a few times, and I always give the driver a Cash tip! Usually $20. I know they really don’t make much running their own cars. And I appreciate them that do this. As a Semi truck driver I need to go to grocery store once In a while and cannot drive truck to it. Stay safe and Slow down Please!
Bungee an e-bike to your runway behind the sleeper.
Or just have groceries delivered to your tractor, like Walmart, Kroger?, & a few others.
Tip the driver in cash Uber steals the tips, company lacking ethics.

You can opt out of data collection, you don't have to remove anything from your car. It's law that if you opt out they can't sell your data. We need to make selling data illegal in all circumstances.

@08turboSS exactly, scotty just hates gm so he only mentions what they do even when other companies do all the same stuff
Minimum wage keeps wages low. There's no incentive to work harder or pay better. No competition.
Exactly right
Minimum wage was created to make sure minorities, women and handicap can't take jobs from core working population by taking away their main advantage over them. It was never intended to help the weaker class.
Another aim is to make sure the weaker class depended on the welfare state and continue to vote on more welfare.
If the state really wanted to help the weaker class, they can always just give support to them directly.
That's why I got in the trunk and unhooked the antenna off of it

Growing up there was always a heated debate about Ford Dodge and Chevy, who was best. Now Chevy is straight trash, it's not even in the debate anymore. Makes me sad and I miss the ole American car debate. 😢
All three now are garbage! Toyota and Honda for the win!
Yes. Those were the days. My first car was a 1966 Chevy Impala 283. In high school some of my friends had a 302 or a 327. I remember the Oldsmobile 442.
They all are becoming trash. Overstressed turbos CVTs plastic parts. It’s all their plan. Planned obsolescence
In Australia, the traditional debate since the 1960s was Ford v Holden. Now, there are no car factories (Ford, Holden, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Nissan all closed), and Holden has ceased to exist as a company.

All car companies are grabbing your data and selling it. When you buy a new vehicle you are unknowingly signing a lot of crap and one of these forms is the one that gives them permission. Pay attention.

The county I live in set up license plate scanners on all major roads tracking everyone. My phone lights up when I pass them.
The easiest way to opt out is not buying from Generic Motors. But it isn't just them. I avoid it all by not driving anything new. Being a mechanic myself, problems aren't too much of an issue as long as the price is right and the problems aren't too major.

USAA offers a similar program where they monitor your driving and cell phone use while driving. Simply opting in gets you a 5% discount on your insurance. If you behave, it can go up to 30% off. It sounds like a decent deal but I wonder if they are artificially inflating the price of coverage to offset the savings from the app.
Ok so what happens when they do an update? Does the setting go back to default or does it still keep your selection?
Also don't connect your phone with Bluetooth
