    Great review! I use the short battery on my sol terra. It’s as good as it can be with a battery. I prefer a power supply just because the machines will always run better with one

    My critical battery I used on my sol nova mark 2 went belly up in 3 months. It would go from 90% to 30% in an hour or 2. Then it stopped connecting properly and started puttering off/on. 😂 I sent it in a month ago for warranty work and have heard nothing back.

    • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  6 месяцев назад +2

      Other people’s battery’s on the Mark 2 started doing the same thing. I had the issue also and sent my Mark 2 and battery to an engineering friend of mine and they said it’s an issue with the mark 2 and not the battery….. trust me I’m pissed after hearing that. And now my Mark 2 is held by customs over seas and I still haven’t gotten it back yet lol

      @@adamdarklord holy shit, that sucks. I’ve just been using the cord on the SN2 and it’s flawless, both my 3.5 and 4.5. Thanks for getting back to me.

    Every time I use the critical battery on my sol novas the battery doesn’t hold tight. This causes my machine to fluctuate in power or sometimes the battery will move or wiggle.

    • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  23 дня назад

      It’s actually a problem in the SOL Nova… I had the same issue and sent my machine with different batteries over seas to a engineer and they said it’s the machines speed controller and compositors that are having issues. Same thing happens with the Cheyenne battery on it….. I didn’t notice the issue until after the review. Cheyenne is aware of the issue and still hasn’t fixed it

    Wait so you’re telling me that the $500 SOL Terra I just bought is coming loose ALREADY!!!??? I seriously have a SOL Nova 4.5 in my cart and was going to buy it until I saw this. I already splurged like $350 on two shorty battery’s for my SOL Terra. Dude this kinda sucks for that much money and who i consider to be the apple of tattooing, that they would put this type of shit out…. And the repair service fees are very questionable in itself. Ughh I’ve commented like 3 times cuz I’m really disappointed. As an apprentice it’s so hard to justify dropping $650-$1000 on a machine (SOL nova/unlimited) but now I feel like I’d rather take my money to FK irons since they are the only other company I can get a good machine for under $1000

    • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  11 месяцев назад +1

      Idk about the port on your specific machine but mine is more loose then when I got it. I try to be as open and honest as I can be so people don’t make big purchasing mistakes.
      It’s pretty standard to buy one machine every year or two if you tattoo everyday.
      I still believe the SOL Nova is a good buy. FKirons has issues sometimes also out of the 5 FK machines I’ve got I’ve had the send 3 of them in for repair in the first year and the 2 I haven’t had to send in I have hardly used.
      I agree it’s bull shit man…
      At least the Acus M1 you can open up and see what’s wrong.
      You can always message me on Instagram also if you have very specific questions on any machine!

      @@adamdarklordYeah so my port definitely has come loose over time and I’ve only been using my Cheyenne Sol Terra for about 3 months and maybe 40 hours. The problem with the 3.5mm Criticals is that it doesn’t fit flush. I had to rig mine up to where I use a little tiny piece of athletic tape and cut it to fit over the little port and it locks in the battery so it won’t wiggle or twist while using. This is making me second guess buying that SOL nova lol. Fuckk 😢 these damn company’s always gotta make shit complicated. Everything I hear about Cheyenne and even FK irons is sounding like more of a headache than a pleasure to use. Hmm I wonder if bishop is gonna stock thw 4.2 wand anytime soon

    Whaaaat fluid gets under the screen. A $60 ambition battery doesn’t even do that. Why not just to go to rca with the rest of the world. Surely that would’ve been cheaper than making their own battery. Well from the looks maybe they did get it cheaper. And ya way too long. I think the unio is even a little longer so that would be really long. Just to mention the short ambition battery is a great battery imo. Especially for $60. Lasts a long time. Actually feels better built than the critical. These are aluminum compared to plastic.

    • @adamdarklord
      @adamdarklord  11 месяцев назад +1

      I got liquid under the screen from a small 30min tattoo and then I stopped using it because I didn’t want to brake it before my review 🤦‍♂️
      Yes I agree just do RCA and boom! It would have thousands of new battery’s to pick from and have a more durable port.
      That Ambition battery looks very nice I’ll pick one up 🔥

      @@adamdarklord minor nit picky issues. When it starts it always starts at 8v. It goes to sleep too fast. And when you wake it up and start it, it's going to start at 8v again. Kind of annoying. But even the short battery last me a good 4-5 hours. When you feel it you'll notice it feels like better quality than the critical. It's all milled aluminum and has a nice weight to it. When my critical batteries finally die I'll probably just buy these ambition ones. They don't fit the critical dock....I checked. Lol

    So idk if my little port/connector on my Cheyenne Sol Terra is loose from my critical batteries not fitting tight and me kinda messing with the battery’s to make them fit more solid. Now I’m starting to feel like it’s not the critical battery’s but Cheyenne itself…. More and more I feel like they are trying to cheap out on clients. I wanted to send my machine in to see if it was broken and they wanted to charge me $500…. I just wanted to send it in and ask if my little 3.5mm jack is supposed to be wiggly/slightly loosed.

    What would be the best battery right now for the Sol Nova? muso toku... critical ...egen? I have a short critical...it only lasts about 3 hours...still a voltage of 9+-...I have the sol nova 4.5, what voltage do you put your sol nova on? thank you

      I run the Nova around 8.5,

    the biggest problem with them is the connection. 3,5 mil. it is horrible with this kind of stuff. I had a Critical battery supply last for a month before it would not hold the connection any more. And it was 300+ euros then. Just go with unlimited if you want wireless. If this is flimsy from the start i give it max 2 or 3 months. Critical 3,5 con same crap... The only downside to the chayenne machines is that fkn conection...

    Why buy this and sol nova 2 when you can buy mast racer for 300$? As long as you get used to 4mm stroke you can literally do anything and there is no reason for all the responsive/e-give modes. Big tattoo companies are on the innovation decline.
