Su graduated class of 2012. Hinata, Nene, Raura, and Marina graduated the following year, class of 2013. This is class of 2014, with Moa, Yui, Hana, and Yunano as the seniors. They released several singles for this class. This song, Aogeba Totoushi, Takaramono, Animal Rythm, and Mini-Pati's Kira Kira Yami Yami Museum. The whole album this year had tremendous music.

I hope future BM albums that Moa gets more solo tracks. I agree, Moa is an amazing singer. Having only 2 official BabyMetal members, it’s perfect to have Moa having more songs to herself. I'm going to miss all these girls. 20-25 years ago I would have turned my nose up at this, but with time and experience you realize you need something fun and innocent to escape to. Having been to many live shows, Dylan, Aerosmith, NIN, Manson, Zombie, Depeche Mode, etc, etc: seeing Babymetal live in Japan 3 times are some of the best shows I've been to.
Regarding the number of girls. This was 2014, there were only 10 members instead of the usual 12. The reason is, although 4 girls graduated last year (the ones you saw on your Friends Unplugged reaction), only 2 new students were brought in. It is speculated by fans that this was the effect of Mariri (the girl who graduated with Su) leaving early, that it affected Amuse's pipeline of incoming students, so they decided to "reset" during the 2014 class. Then for the 2015 class, 6 new girls were admitted, which includes Avengers Momoko and Kano.
The song was recorded in 2014, when Yui and Moa were 2 of the 4 seniors (Moa being Student Council President). That's also why they were highlighted the most on the video. 😊

They were also the main creative force behind the band 'The Brilliant Green'. TBG, Tommy february6 and Tommy heavenly6 is a whole other universe you haven't seen yet. Yui wrote in her Sakura Gakuin blog/diary how much this song meant to her. She felt like the songwriter really captured her feelings of being separated from the other Sakura Gakuin members while on tour with BABYMETAL. This is 2014 nendo. Moa, Yui, Hana (you reacted to a video of her dancing with a bunch of other idols) and Yunano are this year's seniors. The graduates to this point are: Ayami, Ayaka, Airi (nendo 2011), Su and Mariri (2012) and the four girls singing FRIENDS a capella (Marina, Nene, Raura and Hinata). Most of the nendos they kept a formation of 12 girls, so the girls joining every year corresponded to the girls graduating, with some exceptions. This year is an exception since after four girls graduated, only two joined, so there were only 10 girls in this nendo. The following nendo a record of six new girls joined to reinstate the number to 12.
Another good rule of thumb to figure out who's around for what songs, if they have a lot of solos, they're seniors. So if you're not hearing from someone, they're not a senior or they've graduated. Really the only years that broke this mold were 2010-2011, since Su was there but not a senior, she still got a lot of solos.
"Heart no Hoshi" is the second catchiest song ever, only beaten by "My Graduation Toss", in my opinion. And the girls' smiles are so heartwarming, they can make me cry.
Heart no Earth is the first Sakura Gakuin single release with Moa as student council president, it's from the 2014 Nendo and was released 1 1/2 yeras after Su's graduation. 2014 is one of the few Nendos that had only 10 members. Heart is an anagram of Earth.
Easy as that: Remember what I wrote: Light brown jackets= No Su, cuz til 2012 they wore the dark blue ones. And yes in 2014 they were 10, cuz as you already know, 4 left and they got 2 new transfer students: Sara Kurashima and Megumi Okada. But the nendo class tests will reveal all that much better.

They started with 8 then brought in MOA and YUI making 10. Then after 1 year added Rinon and Hana making 12. The colors of the uniforms also help to date the girls. Su was there with blue jacket/reddish skirts. The song is inspired in part by Babymetal. Yui and Moa were touring with Su opening for Lady Gaga, and could not be at the 2014 TIF (Tokyo Idol Festival, important event for SG). And the song is about even though they are seperated their hearts are still one.

This is Nendo 2014, the final Nendo of Moa and Yui. The new faces of Aiko Yamaide (one of SGs best singers) and Megumi Okada (Oha girl, Japanese castle expert)
Usually when a certain number of members graduates, the same number joins with the start of new school year, keeping the amount of members as 12. In 2014 (this video, Moa & Yui's senior year) you correctly counted that there were only 10 members, because previous year 4 girls graduated (Marina, Raura, Hinata, Nene) but only 2 new girls joined! This only happened one time though (until current year 2021, when no new members joined, so there's only 8 of them total).
In the Moa first scene 3:32 she is already doing the Road of Resistance motion with the flag, nice pun, this was recorded around the same time they made that song. This was...SG third or fourth year I think. Second year was when the class president Ayami Muto left (the girl that sang at Karen Girls with Su), next year Su left and this year, with the light brown jackets, Moa and Yui were president and vicepresident of the class, so the action on their songs is centered on them as they became SG aces.
When Su graduated it was at the end of 2012 nendo. This video is from the 2014 nendo, Yui and Moa were the only ones left from the original members. I have the theory that in this nendo they only were 10 girls because when Yui and Moa joined SG they become 10 members. It's like in the present, SG in the last nendo only have 8 members like when it started before Yui and Moa "transfering", because they were originally be 10 members, but at the end they decided that Yui and Moa "got transferred" 5 months later and the tradition of the transfer members beging (this last part Moa explained in 1st episode of LoGiRL Sakura Gakuin Houkago! Manande Monday!)
This was 2 years after Su left. Although Sakura Gakuin usually has 12 members, with graduating members being replaced by an equal number of transfers, in 2014, which is the year this song was from, there were only 2 new members despite 4 graduating the previous year. Although I don't think an explanation has ever been given, I expect that it has something to do with the fact that this year, which was Moa and Yui's senior year (and they were therefore expected to lead the group- Moa was even the Class President), coincided with Babymetal blowing up internationally. As such, Moa and Yui would spend big chunks of their final year on the road and weren't there to help train new members. To ease the burden on the other members, they only brought in 2 new members, rather than 4 as would have been expected. As there were 2 other seniors that year aside from Yui and Moa, the next Nendo, in order to bring the number back up to 12, introduced an unprecedented 6 transfer students, including Kano Fujihira and Momoko Okazaki who would both go on to perform with Babymetal as Avengers.
Yep. Moa & Yui being too damn busy is why they kept the numbers down. It was during this Nendo that they played Sonisphere which is where they really exploded internationally. But even before that... Yui & Moa missed Tokyo Idol Festival which is SG’s first big show of the year because they were on tour in the US with Babymetal. Marina & Raura came back to fill in for them and help prepare the other girls for that show. I honestly don’t know how Yui & Moa coped this year with how much they had going on.

I think the sequence of events were they came to Europe and played the club shows in Paris and Cologne, which were Legend Y and Legend M to celebrate Yui and Moa’s 15th birthdays at the end of June/start of July, then went to the UK for Sonisphere, I’m fairly sure TIF happened in August. But apart from that you’re absolutely right, Babymetal were in the US opening for Lady Gaga when TIF 2014 happened and Marina and and Raura came back to fill in. Yui and Moa were gutted at missing their last time at TIF and they sent a video message to be played during the set as well as footage of them doing the dance to Yume in Mukatte so they could be there in spirit.

(well, actually now only 8 members left because they don't have a reason to transfering a new student in because we know that they going to be disbanded this year)
First watched this a couple ears ago. Recognized Yui right away, but took a couple of rewinds to find Moa. LVT and Magz, I bet if you were in Japan, Su and Moa could walk right past you in their everyday clothes and hair style and you would not recognize them.
Four girls of Moa, Yui, Hana, and Yunano were 3 grade in the junior high in 2014. So I think that the MVs of 2014 have been featuring these 4 girls, and looked adorable in particular. However, I have confused a little because the intro of this song sounds like K-pop for me... And I can not tell who they are immediately because of their makeup. I love Hana with a pan the best in this clip. Like....I mean, I already knew this was a thing; that Japan has no eye color disparity (unless you have non-Japanese ancestry in your immediate bloodline). But when they put each one of the girls in the close-up cam and flash through them one by one and you make that realization that they're all brown.... ...I dunno, I can't explain it. I think it's just fascinating to me having grown up in a culture where pretty much everyone has a different eye color. Or maybe I'm just weird (more likely).

(Edited because i got called out lol) SG started in 2010 with 8 members, Ayaka included. She is the girl from Alice in Borderland, the show Mags likes. They got 2 transferees (new students) in Moa and Yui that year, bringing the total to 10. 2011 brings in 2 transfers to bump up the total to 12. This is also the year Ayaka graduates along with 2 others. 2012 completes another 12 girl roster by getting 3 transferees. The year ends with Su graduating along with 1 more (though not a senior) 2013 class sees 2 transferees for the same 12 girl roster. This is the year of the "Thank You Oh My Friend" video they did before. 4 seniors graduate this time. 2014 brings in 2 transferees, meaning they only complete a 10 girl line up (class of this video). It's worth having a look for the dance only version of this video as this is probably the SG song that has the best choreography and as good as the full MV is, you miss a lot of it.
I'm no SG expert but I believe anytime you see the girls in the Tan uniforms it is after Su left. Su was the only Sr that graduated before this but Mariri left early to become a model.

I'm going to miss all these girls. 20-25 years ago I would have turned my nose up at this, but with time and experience you realize you need something fun and innocent to escape to. Having been to many live shows, Dylan, Aerosmith, NIN, Manson, Zombie, Depeche Mode, etc, etc: seeing Babymetal live in Japan 3 times are some of the best shows I've been to.

Regarding the number of girls. This was 2014, there were only 10 members instead of the usual 12. The reason is, although 4 girls graduated last year (the ones you saw on your Friends Unplugged reaction), only 2 new students were brought in. It is speculated by fans that this was the effect of Mariri (the girl who graduated with Su) leaving early, that it affected Amuse's pipeline of incoming students, so they decided to "reset" during the 2014 class. Then for the 2015 class, 6 new girls were admitted, which includes Avengers Momoko and Kano.
The song was recorded in 2014, when Yui and Moa were 2 of the 4 seniors (Moa being Student Council President). That's also why they were highlighted the most on the video. 😊
If there were no dimples, Moa in 2010, 2015 and 2020 would look like three different girls to me.

They were also the main creative force behind the band 'The Brilliant Green'.

This is 2014 nendo. Moa, Yui, Hana (you reacted to a video of her dancing with a bunch of other idols) and Yunano are this year's seniors. The graduates to this point are: Ayami, Ayaka, Airi (nendo 2011), Su and Mariri (2012) and the four girls singing FRIENDS a capella (Marina, Nene, Raura and Hinata).
Most of the nendos they kept a formation of 12 girls, so the girls joining every year corresponded to the girls graduating, with some exceptions. This year is an exception since after four girls graduated, only two joined, so there were only 10 girls in this nendo. The following nendo a record of six new girls joined to reinstate the number to 12.
Maybe you had trouble spotting Moa because she had some serious and angry expressions instead of her constant smiles. 🙂

Another good rule of thumb to figure out who's around for what songs, if they have a lot of solos, they're seniors. So if you're not hearing from someone, they're not a senior or they've graduated. Really the only years that broke this mold were 2010-2011, since Su was there but not a senior, she still got a lot of solos.
Heart no Earth is one of every fukei's favorite Sakura Gakuin songs, and is one of the highlights of any concert in which it performed.
"Heart no Hoshi" is the second catchiest song ever, only beaten by "My Graduation Toss", in my opinion. And the girls' smiles are so heartwarming, they can make me cry.
No surprise the same songwriting team was responsible for both songs. : )
Heart no Earth is the first Sakura Gakuin single release with Moa as student council president, it's from the 2014 Nendo and was released 1 1/2 yeras after Su's graduation. 2014 is one of the few Nendos that had only 10 members. Heart is an anagram of Earth.
The other nendo with 10 members is 2010 (and that technically started with 8 members, which is also the amount SG will end with).
Easy as that: Remember what I wrote: Light brown jackets= No Su, cuz til 2012 they wore the dark blue ones. And yes in 2014 they were 10, cuz as you already know, 4 left and they got 2 new transfer students: Sara Kurashima and Megumi Okada. But the nendo class tests will reveal all that much better.

MOA - Queen of the Forest Girls.... No SU, This was from the year Moa and Yui graduated. I see 2-4 new younglings so they did bring a few new girls in.
Saki Shirai and Aiko Yamaide (7th president) joined in 2013. Sara Kurashima (6th president) and Megumi Okada joined in 2014. So, yeah, 4 if you're counting from when Su graduated. :)
The colors of the uniforms also help to date the girls. Su was there with blue jacket/reddish skirts.
The song is inspired in part by Babymetal. Yui and Moa were touring with Su opening for Lady Gaga, and could not be at the 2014 TIF (Tokyo Idol Festival, important event for SG). And the song is about even though they are seperated their hearts are still one.

Usually when a certain number of members graduates, the same number joins with the start of new school year, keeping the amount of members as 12.
In 2014 (this video, Moa & Yui's senior year) you correctly counted that there were only 10 members, because previous year 4 girls graduated (Marina, Raura, Hinata, Nene) but only 2 new girls joined! This only happened one time though (until current year 2021, when no new members joined, so there's only 8 of them total).

In the Moa first scene 3:32 she is already doing the Road of Resistance motion with the flag, nice pun, this was recorded around the same time they made that song. This was...SG third or fourth year I think. Second year was when the class president Ayami Muto left (the girl that sang at Karen Girls with Su), next year Su left and this year, with the light brown jackets, Moa and Yui were president and vicepresident of the class, so the action on their songs is centered on them as they became SG aces.

members. I have the theory that in this nendo they only were 10 girls
because when Yui and Moa joined SG they become 10 members. It's like in
the present, SG in the last nendo only have 8 members like when it
started before Yui and Moa "transfering", because they were originally
be 10 members, but at the end they decided that Yui and Moa "got
transferred" 5 months later and the tradition of the transfer members

This was 2 years after Su left. Although Sakura Gakuin usually has 12 members, with graduating members being replaced by an equal number of transfers, in 2014, which is the year this song was from, there were only 2 new members despite 4 graduating the previous year.
Although I don't think an explanation has ever been given, I expect that it has something to do with the fact that this year, which was Moa and Yui's senior year (and they were therefore expected to lead the group- Moa was even the Class President), coincided with Babymetal blowing up internationally. As such, Moa and Yui would spend big chunks of their final year on the road and weren't there to help train new members. To ease the burden on the other members, they only brought in 2 new members, rather than 4 as would have been expected.
As there were 2 other seniors that year aside from Yui and Moa, the next Nendo, in order to bring the number back up to 12, introduced an unprecedented 6 transfer students, including Kano Fujihira and Momoko Okazaki who would both go on to perform with Babymetal as Avengers.
Yep. Moa & Yui being too damn busy is why they kept the numbers down. It was during this Nendo that they played Sonisphere which is where they really exploded internationally.
But even before that... Yui & Moa missed Tokyo Idol Festival which is SG’s first big show of the year because they were on tour in the US with Babymetal. Marina & Raura came back to fill in for them and help prepare the other girls for that show.
I honestly don’t know how Yui & Moa coped this year with how much they had going on.
@@craigbridgens I think TIF happened after Sonisphere. I think the sequence of events were they came to Europe and played the club shows in Paris and Cologne, which were Legend Y and Legend M to celebrate Yui and Moa’s 15th birthdays at the end of June/start of July, then went to the UK for Sonisphere, I’m fairly sure TIF happened in August. But apart from that you’re absolutely right, Babymetal were in the US opening for Lady Gaga when TIF 2014 happened and Marina and and Raura came back to fill in. Yui and Moa were gutted at missing their last time at TIF and they sent a video message to be played during the set as well as footage of them doing the dance to Yume in Mukatte so they could be there in spirit.

I love Hana with a pan the best in this clip.

Like....I mean, I already knew this was a thing; that Japan has no eye color disparity (unless you have non-Japanese ancestry in your immediate bloodline). But when they put each one of the girls in the close-up cam and flash through them one by one and you make that realization that they're all brown....
...I dunno, I can't explain it. I think it's just fascinating to me having grown up in a culture where pretty much everyone has a different eye color. Or maybe I'm just weird (more likely).
