  • This video is part of a new series of basic clinical skills videos.
    It demonstrates how to administer entonox to a patient using an entonox mouthpiece. This delivers 100% entonox, which is 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide.
    This video demonstrate the technique of delivering entonox only and does not cover all indications and contraindications for administration of same.

    I want to test this one out!!
    I’d be a very willing volunteer for testing some gas & air...
    (Others can do the endoscopy up the bum, intubation nose tube, etc)

    The button doesn't need to be pressed. Entonox is self administered by the patient meaning they breathe it on. The button should never be encouraged to be used. Contraindications head injuries.
    We covet alot of high risk events and clinicians talk appropriately qualififying patients how to use it.
    Keep the mouth piece in your mouth and breath deeply in and then the you can also exhale through the mouthpiece without having to remove the entonoc from the patients mouth
