I think I have you beat on the deal of the year. I am a machinist and went into a goodwill ,looking in the glass cabinet I found a digital protractor for $25.00. Couldn't think of an immediate use for it, not looking for resale stuff I passed it by because of the price. Two weeks later I stopped by again and it was still there so I looked at it again and realized it was the half off price tag color ,being a tool fool I bought it for $12.50 figuring I may need it someday. The next day I looked it up in a tool company catalog finding it to be the top name brand selling (on sale! ) for $386.00. Plus in less than two weeks I had to make a set-up on my machine that couldn't have been made without this tool. WIN - WIN!!!
Holy cow. I literally said "What?!?" when I saw the prices for the Under Armor Recharge suit. I never would have thought it would be worth that much. Awesome find.
Hello Taco, I am from Singapore and I watch your videos very regularly. I also dumpster dive a lot and most of the stuff I get is given to poor people in the Philippines. I love the way you collect stuff. You take very quickly and you are not afraid to take items which are bulky and of odd shapes. You are a super hero.
Taco, I know how ya feel about the thrill of the hunt... I recently found/bought a Rare Vintage Polo USA Ralph Lauren Fleece Pullover Shirt Red Superman Size Large for $4.00 at a thrift store... Sold for $200.00 (Find of the Year.) I was so pumped up.
Had to laugh,.... you thought that California sweatshirt was vintage, but you blew right past that Catalina sweatshirt with the polar bear on it, and I KNOW for a fact that that was vintage (and a major label) because I designed that one for Catalina sportswear in 1984.
AWESOME find with the Under Armour!!!! Couldn't have gone to a nicer, more-deserving guy. As my niece says, "That's karma, baby!" Of course, in that case it was because her sister grabbed a huge bite of mashed potatoes off my plate and burned her tongue on them at Easter dinner... Congratulations on a huge score!!! ☺
I found this nearly new leather, Swarovski decked out belt a few days ago, for $4!! I checked out the name-Rocks Leather, and found out it's an exclusive leather wear company in San Diego (just down the road!), and it retails for over $130. 00!!! I buy what I like, and most of the time, I'd only find out later that they are really quality stuff! I wish I had your eye and patience! Great finds!
Well hello there. 😊 I am new to the whole RUclips watching, but definitely not new to thrifting!! I love thrifting and transforming items. Maybe a little too much, if there is such a thing.😎 I appreciate you providing your knowledge of items worth purchasing. I look forward to viewing your other videos.
Nice job. My most recent Goodwill score is an original, signed, Maude Eggemeyer pencil & watercolor. I got it for $8 (it was mislabeled as "Neggemeyer Painting" on their auction site). Appraised for $225. Probably won't sell it, though, 'cuz it's a gorgeous drawing.
Tfs! Very very nice finds. Glad the cashier didn't give u any drama about the double staples. I hope u make double what u made last year! Keep thriftin n pickin!😀
I would love to see videos that show what you actually sold these items for and where. Maybe splice it in at the end of a video like this. You're excited about what you found but that's only half of the equation. I'm left in suspense and that's frustrating. Keep searching!
Nice Murray State shirt! It's amazing how many different t-shirts and sweat shirts you find. A lot of people in Kentucky don't know where Murray State is as it is a small school compared to other state colleges. They were the Ohio Valley Conference basketball champs this year and did go to the NCAA tournament. My son got his degree there and he still keeps up with them.
of course there is a line forming half an hour before the thrift store opens... those are resellers as well...lol down here in Miami the Red White Blue Thrift store opens at 9 am and the line starts forming at 630 am..no lie..everyone goes there because its not cherry pick by employees and all the good stuff is there..its not like goodwill or salvation army and all the juicy stuff pulled before it hits the floor.. happy thrifting
About a year ago I saw a saxophone in the local Goodwill thrift store tagged for $100. I ended up selling it for $1500 cash! If it had been a year or so older it would have been worth $4,000 to $5000. The company ended up moving their manufacturing plant and the ones from the old plant are more desirable. Needless to say, I make sure to stop by when I'm near there and look for more deals. :)
Kind of hard to find treasures in the Goodwill stores in Portland area. They have created "Boutiques" and all of the high value stuff is now at the boutiques and much more expensive. It's all about money folks
I love shopping at goodwill and so does my son ..He makes some really good $$ on Ebay. I actually worked at a goodwill for a while and as an employee we were not allowed to buy anything with the newest color tag on until the following week. Missed out on alot of nice stuff ..but then again I could always go to another goodwill to buy the newer stuff..Worked out good..
Well hell, after this educational vid, I'm going shopping for me hubby.....my fav is the Vintage California one and the recharge suit.....killer finds. I never knew pyrex was that collectable, I see tons of it here in Texas.
Friend worked at Goodwill - all the employees grab the furniture and the best stuff first and sell it on eBay - doesn't even make it to the sales floor....
my last video I got a PYREX casarole dish dated 1919. really good shape and I only paid $4 for it. It's silver plated base holder, bubbles in the glass and in great shape. I'm going to list it at $60 do you think I could get more for it as you always get PYREX and intact I only got it because of your videos. another great video Stacks.
If you got the time, thrifting can be lucrative.I once bought a silver looking vintage water pitcher for about $3,took it to 2 coin shops to get it appraised.the first shop tested it and offered $300 for it.I took it to a 2nd shop, and they pretty much laughed at me and said it was silver plated.I simply took it back to the first shop and collected my $300.it was my best find so far.I've found sterling silver spoons and forks numerous times for about a buck a piece and sold for around $15 each.if its unique looking,Google it on eBay,and if its selling for 20 times the price on there, pick it up.worst case scenario is that you'll be stuck with it but the value will usually increase over time.put a dollar in a savings account and you'll be lucky to get 5 cents interest in a year.
Tamara Kramer ~ I have been doing this for years. It’s my favorite stain remover, so much so that I keep a small bottle of it right with my other laundry products. ✌️
I never even heard of Underarmor. Googled it and way to go‼️ I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for that although I don’t think you’ll run across those at thrift shops every day‼️
Once while shopping at value village I had someone take a nice pair of capries from my cart while I was in the dressing room. I didn't notice that they were missing till I was checking out
Do you post the same items both on ebay and etsy at the same time or just one or the other? Just wondering if you have pay fees on both if you do it that way?

Really. Who pays that much for a shirt....He has $$.
@@francesfehrman741 From what I could find out about it. It was a rare jacket made for one of the olimpics if I remember correctly.
Had to laugh,.... you thought that California sweatshirt was vintage, but you blew right past that Catalina sweatshirt with the polar bear on it, and I KNOW for a fact that that was vintage (and a major label) because I designed that one for Catalina sportswear in 1984.

Who cares it was a ugly ass shirt haha. Vintage ugly is still ugly and no one wants it
Not true! Ugly sells very, very well. And vintage ugly is even better!
you sound like a failed egomaniac.

Absolutely amazing to see Taco’s subscribers increase by 125 in one day! Congratulations.
I love all your videos mostly because you take the time to explain how and why you decide what you pick up ! I learn something new every time 👍

Looooove Pyrex! That was definitely a good find!

Thrift stores are the best places to find treasures.
Tfs! Very very nice finds. Glad the cashier didn't give u any drama about the double staples. I hope u make double what u made last year! Keep thriftin n pickin!😀

Do you have another job or do you do this full time?
If you put the blue dawn dishwashing liquid on any stain let it set overnight you wi get any stain out !
Tamara Kramer ~ I have been doing this for years. It’s my favorite stain remover, so much so that I keep a small bottle of it right with my other laundry products. ✌️

You really know your stuff! Impressive.
I used to live in California and I would always be at a thrift store. I live in Mexico now.... where they don’t have thrift stores :/
Like they tell me every squirrel gets a nut every now and then! Good haul
I never even heard of Underarmor. Googled it and way to go‼️ I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for that although I don’t think you’ll run across those at thrift shops every day‼️
$1125.00 on ebay depends on size but they go from 900.00 + good score I love watching your videos
Really!!!!
No one mentioned the quilt hanging on the wall. I noticed it. Quilting is my hobby. Quilts are beautiful.
OMG that was an awesome find!! I looked it up - holy cow!
Taco you are doing so good!
Awesome day for you~well done!
WOW!!! Impressive potential return on the UA!!!

Thought I saw a nice piece of dark blue, depression glass there, that you seemed to overlook.
Great video you showed around the store and scored some great finds 👌
Loved the video. I live down the street from the light you were stuck at by the CA. Lol it sucks. I have to deal with it everyday to and from work.
They have done the same to me. It didn't have a tag. How hard is,it say ok we want this much for it but no that's too much thinking involved
Love the thrift store videos!
Awesome find!!! Hope you do well with the under Armour
Hey Taco!! Great score with that Under Armour body suit!!! *SWEET!* thumbs up bud! ;)

Pyrex vintage is always good especially when you have a top.
I was wondering......when did you first start your salvaging/thrift stores/flea markets?
Well I had trouble finding the UA Men's Recharge Energy Suit but what I was able to see the resale price is awesome! 😀 Great video!
Cool! I live like 5min from that community aid.
Awesome video really enjoyed it Thank you 🙏😊
I need that snowflake garland.
Once while shopping at value village I had someone take a nice pair of capries from my cart while I was in the dressing room. I didn't notice that they were missing till I was checking out
