In the game you can choose whatever partner you want( well not exactly they need to be compatible with the shooting technique), and endou just seems to be one of those choices, but it's not strictly endou alone who can shoot the ball with goenji
Gouenji's OST is just amazing it gives me goosebumps everytime it appears ....!!!! And although Last Resort looks pretty amazing, it destroys Gouenji's character as a player whose play involves fire type shoots. Plus they removed his originality from majority of his shoots, like Bakunetsu Storm requires another shot which removes its uniqueness and Last Resort also can just be copied by the other teammate; (sorry forgot his name).
