Littlefinger and Lysa not only killed Jon Arryn, but also wrote the letter that Ned and Caitlyn received in the very first episode after the feast, in which Lysa blames the Lannisters for Jon Arryn's murder and accuses them of plotting against King Robert. So basically, it was Littlefinger who started the war between House Stark and House Lannister.
I always get goosebumps when you hear that Little Finger was the start of EVERYTHING!!!!
He also may have started the rumor that Rhaegar kidnapped Lyanna so the Starks would go to war and die. He wanted Catlyn.
Maybe not really... because the conflict at that point was school yard monday problems. It was realease jeimie for ned. Stanis renly and balon werent a result of little finger. It was a result of cercei having bastards and killing robert.
yeah... that took me several watches to catch! Granted I had just had a baby and was watching the episodes in the middle of the night. 🙃
In the books the Vale is actually a much larger system of ever higher mountain levels and the Castle is at the summit, which can only be accessed via several well guarded gates and a sort of cargo lifts for people and goods. In case of siege it was virtually impossible to conquer unless, of course, Dragons.
Always odd how many people miss what Cersei is up to. She is oddly friendly to each of the three judges in Tyrion's trial...
cuz its a show that requires people to think xD
Also not everybody remembers who were going to be at the trial other than when people mention it
That's why they simplified s5-s8 lmfao
She talked to Margaery instead of her father tho, I wonder why
They could accomplished so much more if Marge & Cersei just worked together. All the women could.
"Everywhere in the world they hurt little girls" probably one of the most profound lines ever said on GoT.
Plus Lena’s sublime delivery
This episode reveals that Littlefinger is literally the one behind almost ALL of the events starting in episode one and leading to where things are now. He had Lysa poison Jon Arryn making King Robert need a new hand and Littlefinger knew he would ask Ned. He also had Lysa write Caytlyn and accuse the Lannisters of Jon’s murder. Putting the Starks and Lannisters at odds and making Catlyn immediately suspicious of the Lannisters after Brans fall. So without that bit of plotting Ned would have never gone to Kings Landing. And when Ned got there it was Littlefinger pointing him in the direction of finding the truth about Cersei’s children. I would not even be surprised if he was involved in telling Lancel to get Robert overly drunk on the hunt in hopes it would lead to injury or death. Then when Littlefinger was supposed to get the Gold Cloaks on Ned’s side he betrayed him directly causing his imprisonment and then death. That was his plan the whole time to have the husband of the only woman he ever loved killed without publicly having any of the blood on his hands. Which then lead to Rob calling the banners and war of the 5 kings.
He was also the one that got Margaery to replace Sansa as Joffrey’s fiancé. He made allies of the Tyrells by doing that because he knew that his next moves would anger the Lannisters (taking Sansa away with him).
Orchestrating the murder of Joffrey placed him firmly in the Tyrells good graces and he can now count on their protection. It was also Littlefinger that set up the show with the dwarfs at the purple wedding that he knew would deeply bother Tyrion and most likely cause a scene between him and Joffrey at the wedding making him appear guilty.
Tyrion being named traitor and king slayer would very much be helpful to Littlefinger as he would like Sansa to be free to marry again.
I think the only thing out of everything that has happened that he did not intend was the red wedding. I don’t think he had a full grasp on the lengths Tywin was willing to go to win. Losing Cat was definitely never in his plan.
And he managed all of this without anyone suspecting him. He truly is one of the most dangerous men in Westeros.
I disagree on the part of killing Ned. He betrayed and imprisoned Ned in the motive that Joffrey would send ned to nights watch. If they send ned to nights watch he should be forced to divorce catlyn since nights watch had an oath to not Marry or father childrens. thus i think Joffrey Changing the decision Last minute and killing ned was not in little fingers plan.
Perfect timing, i just made fries and didn't have anything to watch! Thanks! :D
Now I want fries😂
It looks like Cody focussed too much on the fact that Littlefinger had Jon Arynn killed. But more important, is the fact that Lyssa writes to her sister, blaming it on the Lannisters.
Now the two families, Stark and Lannister, always hated each other for obvious reasons. And it is this letter that acts as a catalyst of the war between them. Remember that LF tells Catelyn he lost his dagger to Tyrion in a wager.
Yup Littlefinger was behind igniting the Stark vs Lannister war. And in the ensuing craziness Littlefinger rose in power. “Chaos is a ladder” is his mantra.
George certainly likes misunderstandings & miscommunication lol This is very similar to the conflict on the House of the Dragon. If everyone just sat down & had a chat then all these wars could be prevented.
And recalling the story Littlefinger told about how he lost the dagger to Tyrion... he said that there was a joust between Jaime and Loras, he bet on Jaime, Tyrion bet on Loras, and Loras won. Does anyone actually believe that Tyrion would ever bet against Jaime? It was pure BS from an Olympic-class BSer.
So... to put things in perspective:
- Jon Arryn, the Hand of King Robert, was killed.
- Robert travels North to "invite" Ned Stark to be his Hand. Brings him back to Kings Landing.
- Catelyn Stark is later manipulated by her sister into thinking it had been the Lannisters who murdered Jon Arryn.
- Shit unfolds, Robert dies, Ned Stark is killed, war rages the continent, Robb is killed, all as direct consequence of Jon Arryns death, who everyone always assumed was murdered by Cersei.
- Turns out it was his wife, in league with Littlefinger, who poisoned his husband, so she could marry Littlefinger, who actually only loved Catelyn Startk.
There's more to it, but I can't talk about it yet.
Wait Littlefinger is gay with a husband ?! 🫢
The “wedding” night Lysa was talking about is something Petyr is in denial about. Petyr was so drunk he didn’t know what was happening and Lysa r*ped him.
He's not in denial. He knows it happened... It's why he was banished from Riverrun. Well that and his duel with Brandon...
Was he drunk of feverish?
@@liulinjured and high on milk of the poppy I believe. I also think he was so drugged he thought it was Cat at first
In the book Lysa gets pregnant from the encounter and wants to marry Peter. But since Peter was a minor Lord her father forbid the marriage and made her drink Moon Tea (the Westeros version of an abortion pill) to end the pregnancy
@@AL-fl4jk Damn you'd have to be high as fuck to think that lol
Brienne and Pod's story is a reflection of Brienne's great Grandfather, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his loyal squire, Egg, (short for Aegon.) Their story is the subject of HBO's upcoming prequel to Game of Thrones tentatively titled "A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms."
BTW, Ser Duncan the Tall is also Hodor's grandfather. Thats where Hodor gets his height, hes not part giant.
wait so Brienne and Hodor are related? omfg
"Daddy Petyr"... There is a fan theory that Littlefinger is Robin's bio dad...
I've never thought about that but I can see it
Hope the books confirm it..I'm 50/50 on the theory..he is small and sickly..but the book storyline differs with the show arc..won't say anymore now, cos of potential spoilers..
"The domino that sets everything in motion"
Great way to put it! When you consider that "domino effect", pretty much everything that happened in these 4 seasons, was a consequence (direct or indirect) of what Littlefinger did!
This Jon Arryn thing of course, but also Littlefinger telling Catelyn that the dagger was Tyrion's (which led to her seizing Tyrion, which led to Jaime attacking Ned, to Tywin raising armies), almost everything comes from Littlefinger.
I always called the White Walker babies "White Crawlers" lol
That wasn’t Summer who killed Ras, it was Ghost. Remember he had Jon’s wolf locked in that cage. Bran freed Ghost and Ghost got his revenge on Ras. 😂
I’m not sure why the mutineers would have kept Ghost prisoner and not just killled him. Unless they were using the wolf as a threat against Craster’s wives/daughters (do what we say or we feed you to the wolf).
@andrewward5891 probably to torture him. He represents Jon.
“I saw the Snow fall and bury your bones.” 🤌
When Lysa said they already had their "wedding night" She's simply talking about the first time she slept with Petyr. They haven't actually been married the whole time. Fun fact: that night Lysa actually pretended to be Cat. Littlefinger was drunk and thought is was Cat. She told him she loved him and blah, blah, blah. He did come to start sleeping with Lysa regularly. But that first night, he thought it was Cat, and he thought Cat loved him, too.
He has been using Lysa this whole time, yes. But he's also been using her since they were children together at Riverrun. All the whole, actually pining for Catlyn.
Just scrolled through the comments…is nobody going to mention how Cody was freaking dialed in this episode???? He was noticing things a lot of people don’t catch on first views, speaking about myself and the many people I’ve watched react to this show. He caught the Jon Arryn reveal immediately for example. (I was a mega casual my first time watching this show I was 18)
The wedding night happened when little finger was a ward of the tullys and lysa made him think she was cat which is why in the books he boasts of taking cats virginity, which he never did xx
hi yall are literally so funny i love u both
This is a book thing, but Oberyn's mother and Cersei's mother were friends. They wanted to make a match with Cersei and Oberyn, and one with Elia (Oberyn's sister, not Ellaria Sand, who is not his sister, by the way) and Jaime. Tywin, however, wanted Cersei to be queen, so he planned for her to marry Rhaegar Targaryen. But King Aerys said it would be beneath Rhaegar to marry the Hand's daughter, so he arranged a marriage between Eiia and Rhaegar. It's interesting seeing Cersei and Oberyn interact. They would have made an interesting pair.
I love how fast these episodes are coming out, y’all are great!
i am now singing bridget during the intro. it only took 3.5 seasons.
When I first saw this episode the Karl/ Jon fight reminded me of Mortal Kombat. Just epic.
Yep. Peter is the reason for the whole thing. The whole thing. If you think back to it when Ned wanted to leave King's Landing he had him stay, the knife from Bran's assassin. Basically the whole "game of thrones" in Westeros was started by a plot by Peter. Had it not been for him Daenerys would be working to eventually come and fight a strong Westeros with almost no one dead... (Or her staying there and never even coming if she died with assassination attempt or not).
"It's been Petyr all along"
Love your reactions! This season is my favorite & can't wait for each episode now! Baelish started "everything"....was a nice reveal.
Podrick is one of the most adorable character for me🤣 I'd love o see a spin off of Brienne and Podrick on their road!
That's an interesting thought about controlling a white walker.
"Everything keeps coming back to Yellowjackets." Buzz buzz buzz!
I love the timing on this upload😭 I just sat down behind my sewing machine with nothing to entertain me lmao
Your reaction when Lysa says "are you pregnant!?" 😂😂 Out of nowhere!
"Uncle" is often an honorific for friends of the family and sometimes stepparents/parents' significant others.
Also, he was fostered with the Tullys. Making Belish a ‘brother’ to Cat & Lysa
the next 5 episodes are going to be (IMO) the best television that was ever made; can't wait to see you reactions to that. THAT will be a rollercoaster...
I've been waiting since season 1 to see Cody's face when he found out about Lysa and Littlefinger. Both he and Brigg guess so many accurate things without even realizing, so I knew this one would 🤯
It's always helpful to remember Petyr grew up with the Tullys. A classic I have eyes for someone who doesn't look my way situation between Cat, Peter and Lysa respectively. After the series is done, you've gotta livestream some Alt Shift X videos.
I have to say you guys are my most favourite game of thrones reactors then 2. don't trust Hannah then 3rd the Scottish guy - sofa and chill 4th. Suzy and stevo at this time it changes for all time
Yay! Another GOT reaction!! 🎉
On a side note, I love Bridgette’s hair! 💙
So many moments I’m just waiting for you to see. I need to watch your hearts break the way mine did
The poison they used to kill Jon Arryn was called "Tears of Lys", which is kind of poetic cause it was Lysa who poisoned him.
"If your system requires you to swear a 12y/o in to be your leader, the system's broke"
That's funny, considering in the books, Joffrey IS 12! (Tommen is 8)
There's other past activities that also set paths in motion that are yet to be revealed. I didnt figure it out the first time, but it's totally there. It's so simple yet set up well in the way of trickery.
Yo, Fatt Damond, I love you mate, you're funny and witty as hell. Subscribed 100%
It just gets worse for poor Sansa her next arranged marriage is to a ten year old who will definitely expect Sansa to take over feeding duties
19:46 me with 7 daughters 👀 😅 It’s exactly as it sounds lol
Lysa had to drink the abortion tea after she was first "with" Petyr when they were young at Riverrun. She's very invested in the thought that he's her love match...
She's going to wish she had married Robin lol
"Married" doesnt mean that kinda marriage (becoming husband and wife) but it means that they had slept together, which they did as younger kids. Probably only once. Lyssa has always been enamoured wth Petr, but he only has eyes for the sister.
A fortnight is 14 nights
10:55 Seeing that realization that it was Littlefinger who started this WHOLE shit with the killing of John Arryn... its wild, huh? That little admission from Lysa spoke VOLUMES!!
Woohoo! Loving it!
Keep up the excellent work 🤩 🤩
Love your reactions. Thank you.
I did not catch that lil necklace nugget before!
By "Married" she means they had sex.
While olena takes the jewel off Sansas necklace she ask her what kind of a monster kills someone at a wedding?
I cannot wait for next episode because of THAT scene
Jon's kill went sword deep at Craster's keep
Dany needs to whip out her Drax arms.
Tri-Pod jokes ... love it
2:40 his not the leader underage someone else leads until the king is of age this type of system built the world we live in today 🙌
It's Olenna, not Olanna.😊
For the algorithm!
I swear the actor playing the crazy prince of the vale nailed it 😂
Wow!! I never notice she took it off Sansa 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
11:10 Yes Co you're correct, Baelish effectively started the war between the Lannister's and Starks in hopes to steal Sansa and become the King in the North by proxy or more as long as there's still toys to be played with after the dust settles Baelish will be happier than a pig in shit.
I don’t think your reasoning is correct.
If you go back to 1x9 where the moment where Joffery gives the order to take Ned's head you will see everyone beg him to stop it. Everyone but one man who just stands there. Make you wonder if Littlefinger spoke to Joff before then about it making him look weak if he let Ned live.
🎉🎉
Moving along the journey through Westoros continues 🎉🎉🎉🎉
11:46…”it’s like the domino that sets everything in motion for the show.”
THAT is the most important and magical statement to EVER be said!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Olenna Tyrell is such a badass
9:00 oh god and then Sansa has a bad night with thin walls
Poor Sansa went from the frying pan to the fire and Back Again three or four times but she is a strong
I wish Locke lived longer. I liked his character
You guys like any mediocre character as long as he's a straight white male....
He is responsible for everything that has happened
Always love your GoT reactions, but I can't believe you guys don't like the Hound. He's the best character on the whole show!
Tommen is 8 when hes crowned in the books. Reading them now. 😊
Petyr essentially facilitated the war of the five kings.
They’re going to have 3 dragons and also 3 gragons 😂
can’t wait for you guys to see the watchers on the wall episode 😻 such a. good battle
This didn't occur to me at the time this originally aired (or on many rewatches and reactions before this past week), but now I'm wondering if Lysa and Littlefinger having their "wedding night" years ago might not be how Robin Arryn was conceived. Like, could he actually be Littlefinger's child instead of Jon Arryn's child? I haven't read the books, so I don't know if this particular scene is even in the books, but it does make me wonder about Robin's parentage.
I honestly hope u guys reach 100k subs by the end of the year. I love all your videos and reactions and it’s always a bright spell in a dull day when I see a new one released. ❤
Another fun fact: LYSA was the one that got fat. Everything she told Sansa about that had actually been her. In the books, Lysa is STILL chubby.
Guys Hodor is not literally half-giant 😂
They say he has giant’s blood as a joke, since he’s unusually large. Like saying someone is half-fish because they love swimming. There are no giants south of the wall. Even if there were, it would be physically impossible for a human to mate with a giant!!!
Physical impossibility is not a thing in GOT because there is magic. We don’t know Hodors background beyond Old Nan. So just because there are no giants south of the wall, doesn’t mean that his family was never north of the wall. GOT leaves so much room for theory and conjecture, there are some untold stories with no absolutes
I'm pretty sure that most or all of those women died. If other Wildings didn't get em, the Walkers probably did.
I cant wait for the trial 😉
I know we all love when Bran wargs to make Hodor kick ass, but to be a peaceful, simple person and just 'wake up' with blood on your hands and a dead body in front of you has to be extremely traumatizing. Poor Hodor :/
Carl scared the crap out of me
season 4. rate the kills episode. do it!
Littlefinger is responsible for starting the War of the Five Kings.
Allegedly…
Next 5 episodes is some of the best tv out 💯
I'm really enjoying your GOT reactions. I feel bad to say I've been watching for awhile but I just Subscribed. Sorry ❤
.... i've just realized y'all are just about halfway thru the series 😭
“Hodor is not mentally capable as other people…”
Oh, you sweet summer children 😔
Next eps 6, best eps of the season.
that moment you realize everything that's happened is because of Little Finger and Lysa.
Well, they haven't been secretly married. They just had sex a long time ago. This is actually a messed-up story as he thought she was Catelyn (he had just been hurt in the duel with Brandon, Ned's older brother and Cat's then-betrothed). I'm not sure any of that is ever spelled out on the show, though.
I think it was an amazing feat to have a murder mystery that started in book/season one and you find out whodunit so much later. Hats off to GRRM.
I'll say it again. This season is insane.
Honestly, if Joffrey hadn't been murdered at his wedding, I'm sure Tywin would have had him assassinated at some point not too far in the future, especially if Margaery got pregnant quickly.
I wish your audience would have let Olenna's involvement unfold naturally as it does in a later season
I mean... She herself tells Margery that she was involved.
What do u mean??
there is a difference, what "we" know, and what a "certain characters from the show knows".. dont spoil who! And he/her doesnt know it . that is a point of that scene...
Cerci says : " You never love anything in the world the way you love your first child". But I guess she forgot Joffrey wasn't her first child. In season 1 she tells Catelyn Stark that she had a black-haired baby who died of a fever shortly after it was born.
Which was made up for the series, bc if I remember right in the books she drank moon tea rather than have Robert's child. Not sure why they ever added it to the series
U do realise she didn't get to raise him right??? The 1st baby she got to raise fully is joffrey(how she raised him is entirely different point)....
I'm pretty sure the baby you're referring to is Gendry. It is in scenes right before it shows Gendry implying the baby that she thought died grew up to be Gendry, Robert's bastard(it wasn't a bastard because it was Cersie and Roberts, even though Cersci says all her babies are with Jamie it doesn't mean she knew this one wasn't)(it was really just taken away with the excuse of that it died.)
@@w33d533dGendry isn't hers. They did that to clue you into that Gendry was Robert's bastard and that none of the Lannister children could be his bc of the lack of dark hair.
nah i looked it up and it pretty much confirms my suspicion, so i am right.
They weren't married. They "had a wedding night". Apparently Pod has nothing on Little Finger.
