Thank you
Hi
This car came to me with the gearbox going into safe mode when hot... when cold, would drive absolutely fine.
After reading the codes, P0716 and P07BF, and look at some live data, was clear that was not possible to do much more without getting my hands dirty... so, after a bit of digging, problem found!
Not an easy job, but definitely doable...
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem and how to resolve it.
Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!
Good find/video... Why dont you use the dtcs in your title? Would get more viewings with people looking for a specific dtc, just a thought. Keep up the good work 😁
I used to put them on title, then people started to suggest they should go on the thumbnail... I guess I can never please everyone...
😊
👍👍👍
I agree most google searches will link the video if it contains the DTC that person is looking for.

many mechanics replacing completly and it costs a huge bill for the owner.you repaired the connection thats the way to be normally well done.happy customer

Thanks!

Excellent find! Crazy to think that whole transmissions have been swapped for this broken wire, top marks for finding & repairing 👌
😊
Thanks!

Hi Luis, I respect all your work. Some error codes and fixes are not worth teaching. We will not take knowledge to the grave. It is true that years of hard work and effort are one thing. It is another to teach them to people who have no effort and no cost. (You can buy everything in the world, but you can't buy knowledge and experience.)God bless you big boss

@ My only wish is that you do not misunderstand me
Not at all!

good morning Luis thank you for a nother sunday video and at 51 25 i see the normal orange fault light flashing
No worries... plenty in the bag...
👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs i stick 25 quid of fuel in if light is on or low less than 100 miles if i have to test drive no way walking the bill go es up by that much they get the recipt
😁
Just for reference -
I had a car come to me with the same fault of SEVERE JURKING / CLUNKING when selecting from reverse - drive or drive - reverse
car drove fine in all other gears & NO LIGHT on
A mate who worked for Vauxhall UPDATED the gearbox ECU & it was fixed
He said that there was a bulletin for the gearbox update - on the vauxhall system
So if you ever have the same but with NO LIGHT it could be the update
I was guessing it was the update - all the way until you showed the broken wires !!
Thanks for posting this 👍👍
😊
I know about the update, done a few, videos on my channel...
👍👍👍
bro i learn a lot from you , thank you for those videos
😊
👍👍👍
Happy Sunday Luis 😀
Thanks!
👍👍👍
There used to be a vauxhall that had the ecu mounted directly on the engine, it was notorious for breaking multiple of there thing wires because of vibrations
Yes, I have repaired a few...

Nice job, thanks for video

Hello could you please do me a favor what is the program for the dsg gear box golf 6 1.2 TSI / dq200
What do you mean by "the program" ?
👍👍👍
Morning,,,cheers

Louis that was a nice educated lucky guess. I have never seen gel encapsulation in such an area. Why do they(continental) use gel instead of hard epoxy potting? What I can see from the broken wire it was a fatigue damage(vibration load) what could be avoided with hard epoxy potting. I think it is a non repairable item so make no sense to be transparent. Also a big fat heat spreader under the PCBA can do its job without gel potting as well. Do you know any gel potting material? I am curious how long your soldering last in such a vibrational environment... I was also surprised that you could solder it without degreasing after the gel ... I am almost sure this is a design issue and many owners can suffer from it...
This type of gell it is used in many similar applications... I have videos on other systems with the same stuff...
When soldered this way and with copper wire, it is usually a safe connection...
It is the aluminium wire that tends to fail...
👍👍👍
@@LMAutoRepairs Yes, cost saving alu is much cheaper than copper wires.. some application we use gold wires :)
Happy days
How can I book in hadakes job to you?
This is a part-time for me... sorry...
