This is a great game! Like it the best out of their other games Calico and Verdant. I already have over 130 solo plays of Cascadia and just love the puzzle.
Thanks, Luke!! I played this for the first time last night (with much anticipation) and it was loads of fun! Great puzzle and even though I don’t play solo games, I am honestly considering trying this one solo.
Good review! I hope your family likes it, as well. I appreciate the re-draw rules on the infrequent occasions when three or four of the same animal tokens are drawn on the same turn.
I found the more restrictive nature of the Calico board to be quite engaging, knowing that your options were thinning but then ultimately accepting how it turned out, plus I really liked the dual layered board and scoring mechanisms. Seems like an interesting title but am not so sure that it would change things up enough for me to get rid of Calico. Good review!
Yeah, I held out on Calico because I thought the game play looked too restrictive, but this feels more open so I might pick this one up. Thanks for the review.
Been wondering if you have played Life of the Amazonia - feels like something that might interest you. A bag building heavier (and longer) Cascadia style game.
Great review! 👌 As far as I'm concerned, I haven't got a chance to play Calico yet so I cannot really compare these two games. But I feel like the tension when playing Calico might not be for everyone trying it with me. Cascadia on the other hand seems to be a little less challenging but I might see it wrongly. I love the solo mode and its achievements and I also think that a two player would also be better than a four player play when it comes to competition .
Nice game, I do prefer Calico in the end because I do enjoy the tension and having to plan backups after backups when the wrong tiles turn up :p But even that got old eventually but my wife still loves it (and we can play on the sofa lol).
Good review, Luke, but unfortunately the artwork wasn’t enough to tempt me with this one. I think Subastral is a much better game with prettier looking artwork.

It's best solo honestly, I mean it's not much different from multiplayer 👍
Thx for the review. I appreciate the different rating for different player counts.
Thanks, it's certainly been a popular new thing, wish I had proper logos for it.
This reminds me of Overboss with the tile selection and points based on placement.
I love the theme surrounding Cascadia as well as it being light and easy to play. The tiles and tokens are well made and I love the cards design.

Yeah they should be fine with it.

Thank you for saying so!

No not played that one.

Cascadia may not be something i want to play over and over again, but it ticks every box it should do.

Sofa, bed, fits the theme 😁
It's pronounced kal-i-koh. Coleco was a company that made the game console ColecoVision in the 80's. ; )
I love this game for what it is. Only played it at 3 and 4 and I think bit works perfectly fine. Three was 32 mins.
Personally I like achievements in solo games, not as much as win lose conditionsbut more than just beat your own score.
hey, sorry for offtopic, will you be covering Euthia?
Nope, but I played it today as a friend taught me it and I really didn't enjoy it. A watered down Mage Knight.

Fair enough!
Another great review Luke! This game is too light for my liking so I wouldn't seek it out. Thx!
Thanks!
