Zia ul haq promised election within ninety days according to the constitution and then by playing a drama of islamisation and jehad deceived the people and the country and for eleven years the Army looted dollars. Nawaz was his favorite child. Nawaz and army nexes proved lethal. Pakistan needs to be devided into small provinces. These four provinces were constituted and named by the British but for better administration and autonomy there should ve been more and smaller provinces so the urdu speaking would also have got representation. At present panjab has got monopoly over other provinces.
Bhutto was so much power hunger that it leads to dissolution of West and East Pakistan Union.

We should analyse Dacca fall un emotionally. It was very simple whom won 1970 election he should had been handed over the government at that time to save Pakistan. Both persons - Bhutto and Zia - are gone and whatever they did, they would be enjoying accordingly as per Quran: Surah Baqrah Ayat 141:

Had there been not a military rule, there wouldn't have been Mr. Bhutto around. Military rule enabled his career. Military rule ended it. It was military rule that led to the fall of East Pakistan. Mr. Bhutto was a loose end to this military rule. He did more damage to Pakistan than all the military rulers combined. It was a golden moment for Pakistan to start afresh with a civilian rule. Yet, he, out of sheer recklessness, destroyed Pakistan's golden chance to become democratic. Now it's stay in a hospice struggling to breath.

Everyone in Pakistani politics is a product of the military rule so I don't see how that singles out Bhutto. Plus, you are not blaming the individual who reinstated military rule but the victim of it. And you absolve the military of all the major ills of the society by saying Bhutto was responsible for the more combined damage than all the military rulers. This is highly biased as you are absolving a body that has been in power nearly all throughout Pakistan's history, including right now.

I mean bhutto got killed by gen zia which was a strict islamic person so why west would kill a man with Secular views. Gaddafi died when OIC had no power and it was just an organisation. Anwar Sadat was also killed because he accepted Israel so why west would want to kill him. Shah Iran was overthrown by the Islamic Revolution of Iran after which Iran's and west's relations got troubled so it doesn't make sense either, Shah Faisal got killed due to their tribal dispute by their own relative over some old fight. But killing Saddam Hussain could be intentional..

Often historians in Pakistan only present a one-sided version of history, which suits their stories that democracy is often threatened in Pakistan because the army crosses its boundaries and disrespects the constitution of Pakistan. Now these stories about Bhutto tell you the other side of history, which won't be told because it would not let these people pay victimization card on behalf of democracy. First adopt democratic behavior and then fight for democracy, otherwise it is just HYPOCRISY, not democracy, and saying this does not make you an agent of someone else or chamcha

Thanks BBC for a very analysis. Bhutto’s biggest blunders was his personal arrogance that he is superior to everyone and that he can’t make any mistake. He loved power absolutely and would not admit any mistake. His trial was bogus for the most part--the first adjudication was in the High Court of Lahore, this deprived him a first right of appeal because an appellate court should not become a trial court of first appearance. The biggest mistake, of course, his belief that he understands human nature more than anybody and his love for flattery. Here, he selected General Zia and rest we all know. President Mursi of Egypt did the same blunder in selecting General Sisi-looking at his mahrab on his forehead and his wife wearing hijab. Bhutto’s services in bring POWs and some understanding with India was his biggest achievement. however, biggest failure were the bogus selection of psychopaths friends and then opting for this nefarious parliamentary system for Pakistan. Still, he was a powerful man, loved by many of us but he died and not “zinda” any longer. The only zinda is Qaim Ali Shah at this time:-
