Danke!
We moved to Germany in 1986 and at that time they were still doing repairs in Wurzberg caused during the war. I remember going to several churches and such on field trips were they were taking collections to continue the restoration. restoration.Wurzberg is a truly beautiful city.
At 84 yrs of age, I do remember those terrible days, month and years. Many, many buildings were still I ruin in 1953 in Wuerburg when I rode my bicycle from Main Kai (next to Wahlfisch Restaura )to Mozart Schule.
Anyone with an interest of how Wurzburg rose from the ashes should also watch the FOX film, DECISION BEFORE DAWN starring Oscar Werner. It was filmed in Wurzburg (mostly) in 1950. I speak of it in my book, A BRIDGE TO TIME, A Re-enactor's Journey. The film is one of my favorite war films. In 2009 I visited Wurzburg and upon entering the Residence, I was struck by the feeling that I had been here before-impossible. Then returning to the USA, I again saw that film after a lapse of more than thirty years. When Oscar walks into German HQ it was the Residence. I plan to return next year. Thank You, Terry J. founder of the WWII Historical Re-enactment Society

Wohl bekomm's, Rudi!
Depressing.."war is hell" isn't just a saying!
