This is why I am a free-speech absolutist. When free speech is allowed but selectively regulated to disallow the glorifying of a terrorist organization, outrageous as it may be to do so, it paves the way for discourse around the Israel-Hamas conflict to become severely distorted. This is because the deeply entrenched views and dark thoughts of Hamas sympathizers in examples such as the above remain undisclosed and censored. If on the other hand these opinions were allowed to be aired it would allow for the exposure of these twisted ideologies so that they might be tackled head-on. As it stands they remain hidden and the root ideological causes of these acts of terror remain buried.
