- The Alexander march is a German infantry parade march. It was composed by Andreas Leonhardt in 1852 for the state visit of the Russian heir apparent Alexander in Berlin. He is included in the army march collection under AM II, 124 and AM II, 161, respectively.

The best Tsar in my opinion. There is still a statue of him in Senate Square in Helsinki, Finland.
In Bolivia this is the main parade march of the Colegio Militar del Ejercito.
For the one's who don't know, Bolivia adopted the military traditions of Germany in 1911 under the command of the Colonel Hans Kundt and Major Fritz Muther, and nowadays still remain, of course, Chile is the most known case when their military became prussian in 1885.
The Colegio Militar's cadets wear the uniforms of the 1. garde regiment zu Fuß with silver details in the bluse and pickelhaube instead the golden details of the Chilean cadets because their uniforms are worn from the 2. Garde regiment zu Fuß

They were mostly friends in history, the 20th cent was an exception.
One of my favourite marches along with "Deutschlands Ruhm", "Wir Siegen!" by Leon Jessel and of course the "Versailles Festmarsch zum 18. Januar 1871". Apart from the great classics like the Königgrätzer March and Preußens Gloria of course. There are many great marches that are unfortunately far too unknown. Nice to see that you are trying to change that!

This is an Austrian march , composed by Andreas Leonhardt, First (and only) Bandmaster of the Imperial Austrian Army.
Dedicated to Tsarevich Alexander (later Alexander II) on occasion of his visit to the Olmütz garrison in 1853, whence its original title "Alexander-Cesarewitsch-Marsch).

That was a great march, dear Doktor!! My ancestors are German-Russians, so this feels like a nice tribute to that long-standing friendship between the peoples.
Beside the 20th century wars, Germans and Russians were always very close friends.

Alexander I was a bit emotional and childish on some occasions, but he was one of the very few that cared for Russia.
