    what he is saying doesn´t really makes sense. "i made these people do messed up things, because i didn´t wanted to lose the relationship with them". as a famous drag race queen once said: liza minnelli, lies!

      I don't think you understand what he's saying, in part because Tamron keeps interrupting him and doesn't actually explore anything he says. Frankly the interview is obnoxious. What he was doing was try to control them, so he can have more of them. That's what he means when he says he has a fear of losing them, i.e. they would leave him behind and not care. It's very normal in show business to have that kind of fear, of someone getting work, a new partner, and moving on from a friendship. People try to control out of insecurity. He admits this earlier. Whether or not he's just a callous or cruel person is a possible additional question - the problem is, it's not likely to be something he would admit to himself nor others.

    This was a big news in the gay community. Therefore.... from this point forward, to aspiring actors: IF YOU ARE ASKED FOR SEXUALLY CHARGED PICTURES AND VIDEOS for the chance of getting a role.....DONT. A professional in any sector of jobs would NEVER ask for these things. We should also touch on the topic of not only the “willing” victims. But also the people who unashamedly WOULD and DO try to get ahead in life by getting roles and job opportunity’s using their body’s. Nobody never focuses on them, only when they “complain” about it.... smh

    Seems like SP is trying to make herself a victim as well. She doesn't seem genuine in the apology and anyone else catch that SP kept deflecting the answer by repeating I'm sorry and saying "oh yeah I know". The fact that the authorities aren't involved speaks volumes to how she was able to do it, why she went undetected for so long and why more victims will NEVER come forward. I applaud tamron for sticking to her guns and airing this very important interview.

    • @perry5509
      @perry5509 3 года назад

      Maybe the authorities aren't involved because what she did isn't particularly illegal? They weren't underage, she didn't ask for money. What she did was awful, but the reality is there are far worse people out there doing far worse things every day. Those are the people the police care about pursuing. Sherry just seems like 'the worst of the worst' because its extremely rare for someone so recklessly devious to be in the public eye.

It's sad how with every answer before he can get too deep he reroutes back to his "blanket statement". He did wrong. What he did was morally reprehensible, but unfortunately he didn’t break any laws in the state of New York. There was lots of discourse within the Drag Race fandom about that when the story first broke, the long and short of it is his actions don’t line up with any actual established criminal charge the NYPD could bring against him. The general consensus was that this situation was an example of the law being woefully underprepared for the demands of the internet-era.
      To be clear though - his being gay has nothing to do with his not being charged. In fact, the police (and most especially the NYPD) have historically treated LGBT+ people much, much, much, worse than they treat straight people.
      The first Pride was a riot that broke out in opposition to a culture of Police violence, corruption, exploitation, and abuse, of New York’s LGBT+ community. I highly recommend the podcast “You’re Wrong About” - they did an episode called “The Stonewall Uprising” that does an amazing job telling the story of one of the most important moments in LGBT+ and Civil Rights history, as well contextualizing the LGBT+ community’s historical relationship with Police, and dispelling the common misconceptions about both the event, and who participated in it. And they do this in only an hour!

    Why did Tamron and the media keep comparing Sherry to R kelly, Bill Cosby and so on and referring to 6 years old kids to his "so called victims". Those people associated with Sherry Pie were grown ass man who would do anything to be famous and the fact that they came out now was because they weren't. If they were to be casted on films like Call me by your name and had done all that during audition, none of them would have come out to say all these things and being "traumatised". They knew full well it was the risk they were willing to take. So the term victim is quite a stretch in my opinion.

      He’s a literal abuser. He deserves to be charged in my book. Would you say the same to a man who did what he did to women? Or to young people? Or is it simply because he’s gay. Because as a gay person myself, it disgusts me that he would perpetuate such a harmful stereotype.

      It's not brave or classy to confess to sexual exploitation. The brave ones are the men that came out about being exploited them in the first place.

    Every one deserves a second chance unless there black, ask Tyra Sanchez, Azealia Banks, Ertha Kitt, The Vixen, Khia, Farrakhan, Nina Bonina Brown, Bill Cosby, R Kelly!

      Maybe NBB does deserve another chance, but she has said some nasty things. Same for Azealia. And personally, I live for Vixen. But Tyra literally made a bomb threat and quit drag, so I don’t think she wants another chance baby.

      I don't think this is a race thing, and for me this doesn't feel like a second chance. It feels like to have the Sherry's side of the story without justifying him in this interview.
