Excellent self-analysis on your gameplay progression over the year. You really have a unique skill to “review” and “fix” mistakes to quickly improve all while effectively communicating with viewers and sharing your knowledge. That’s why I love watching these videos and also your streams.
Thanks Aust ❤️. Would have never come this far without you! You got me into Fortnite!
Now you're the Content Creator we watch to improve in zero build!🥰
It's been a journey!
@@TobyWanShinobi ❤
I'm 48 and played arena fps (quake, UT) forever so transitioning now to FN my biggest challenge is just cover and not keeping myself exposed. Thanks for your videos much appreciated.
Yep, I had the same issue... arena shooters you can kind of leave cover to take a 1v1 more often. But in FN zb cover is an essential in almost every fight... especially with the 3rd person camera and right shoulder peek.
Just found your channel a few days ago when I felt defeated losing nearly every game...been watching a lot of your content and hope to implement these techniques into my gameplay!
Fantastic video! It's amazing to see how much progress you made in just a year, especially coming from controller. Amazing tips and videos so far! Keep it up, Toby!
Thanks Lex!!
I started playing fortnite 6 months ago and I absolutely love the game. I had a old beat up ps4 that I was playing on and I recently upgraded to a ps5. I noticed that I was getting a couple more kills per game on average, and I figured that's from the system, picture quality, new controller and maybe just luck. I'm trying to become a better overall player and I appreciate your videos man. Thanks
Great to hear that my friend. Keep training individual skills at a time!
Graphics quality definitely makes a difference! Going from my 15 inch gaming laptop to my husband's 25 inch desktop monitor is like 😮 Size matters? 🤣
I stumbled across your videos the other day and I love how you explain your tips and tricks more than most people. You seem like you genuinely want to help people get better, I'll be using some tips tonight in my game play! Keep up the great work on Fortnite and with these videos ❤
Great video! It’s nice to see someone as good as you acknowledge and talk this progression out and see where you came from.
Thank you! I thought it might motivate people to believe they really can improve with the right systems in place. But if they keep doing what they always do, there will be little progress.
Shinobi!!! This was a fantastic vid, it encourages me to want to be much better. Several of your tips, best practices and words of wisdom resonated really well and got through this thick skull of mine. I am inspired and even motivated to start trying to use keyboard and mouse. Keep up the excellent work my man!
Thank you so much Regy! ❤️
Hey Man! Your videos are so helpful! Really enjoy seeing your progression. I’ve been playing for a few years, but super casual. I’ve definitely plateaued and have gotten frustrated with how quickly I get killed off by better players. After watching a couple of your videos I’ve started practicing in the R v B death match and I’ve already noticed a big improvement in my ability to track people and adjust my aim while I’m moving. It’s gotten me super motivated and I’m having a lot more fun. Excited to follow your channel! 👏 🙏
I love to hear that Ben! Thanks for your support ❤️
came across your channel probably around like 2 months ago & been keeping up with your content ever since. this video made me realize that i haven’t been playing the game for that long either (10 months) & i think about all the mistakes i used to make, but as you said we all start somewhere. your videos these days are definitely helping me fine tune a lot of things.. so ty for that. it’s highly appreciated & i hope you keep succeeding 🤝🏽
Thank you Danny! I'm stoked I could help you ❤️
This is amazing!!! What I love about this is that I can pinpoint where my skill level is right now with where you were at that point in time and then see exactly what I need to do next to improve. First tutorial I've seen structured this way. Can also apply your more general non specific Fortnite advice such as creating a journal of weaknesses to any game or sport. Thank you!!!
Glad you found it helpful! Good luck my friend 👍
Thanks man, for sure one of the most understanding guides for covering all different type of players, super helpful! Been practicing movement and its made the game so much for fun!
Love to hear it! Keep training
Amazing video man, quite the self-reflection and self-documentation! That's how one steadily improves at anything in life-focusing on one particular skill at a time. Have an amazing day, I have a feeling that you have quite the solid foundation to become a ZB top-tier content creator as far as educational content, goes!
Thank you my friend ❤️ have an awesome day as well!
Another great video from Toby, love seeing the progress you’ve made. Thanks for including me being eliminated in my 1st month 😂. I’ve definitely made lots of progress with your help!
Haha I didn't even notice 😅. You are killing it, huge gains!!
What I needed most was perspective and I finally got that with you showing about how long it takes. Thanks for that, I won't be as harsh on myself for not being perfect yet.
Plus what you said about arena shooters resonates with me a ton, explains why I find tdm more fun than br.
Thank you. Yeah it's a HARD switch to go from past paced arena shooters to a game where you have 1 life and a 1/100 chance of winning. Best of luck my friend.
Doing all of this in just a year WITH a baby proves that anyone can do it. The dedication is unmatched 🫡
That's what I'm sayin' LoVE! You guys can do this! Thank you my friend
Playing Fortnite with a newborn is definitely the hardest challenge I've faced lately hahaha.
@tazblizzard9800 lol you get 45 minutes at a time max, until you can sleep train them when they are older - which I highly recommend!
@@TobyWanShinobii have an 8n 8 almost 9 month old and it's hard to play when shes pulling on me practicing standing up...or when she wants to play lol
@@kelseahearon5182 haha gotta start em young! Mine is 1 year now. Bought a really tall toggle extension and I let him control the move toggle while I play platformers, he enjoys it. I hold his wrist to help him control the movement. We are plying Ori right now. He gets bored of it after about 10 minutes though haha
Great video! Love to see the progression. I’ve been playing for 5 years and have taken similar steps except it took me significantly longer at each stage 🤣
It's a lot to learn!
nice and early for this one, last watched a video when u were at 9k, now ur nearly at 12k, keep up the good content😁
Yup, all thanks to you guys
Your videos are awesome. The fundamentals of every aspect of the game are important if you want to progress as a player. Even myself having alot of time spent in the game and being decent at it, learning the fundamentals improved my skills
Wow loved everything bout this video. I'd consider myself somewhere along your month 8 in terms of skill, and just trying to figure out how to get better and what to do next to do so. Your ideas make lots of sense and I'm excited to start implementing your ideas
Just build one skill at a time, stay intentional with your learning. You've got this 🫡
This kind of work ethic will take you wherever you want to go Toby. Much love and thanks for the video
Another fantastic video baby!!! I'm soaking it all in and implementing it into my game play! Really appreciate what you do! Luv and Support brother!
Thank you my friend
This is pure motivation for me thanks for this video, this RUclipsr deserves millions of views
Great vid man, definitely earned a sub. I’ve been a competitive player since release and I can already tell you have a shot at the higher ups in the competitive scene
Thank you brother! I'm still learning, but another year and I might be there!
Watching this gives me hope! Thank you
You got this!
Outstanding video! Thanks for sharing!
Great video. Thank you. I have so much to learn
That's exciting! It's kind of awesome when you have lots of new stuff to learn :)
Love it …. Can totally relate to this journey… it’s almost identical
Yesssssss so hyped to watch this video. Every time I get a notification from toby I get so exited. Keep up the good work
Thanks Sebastian!
Great long game coverage bro! Great at explaining how its not just overnight turnaround. And all the links are amazing bro!!!
Thank you Jason!
I just realized this was Jwolf! Haha doesn't show you screen name in this view.
Yeah idk why it changes up lol
Love the grind
Very helpful, thanks
Ive been getting ur vids recomended to me. Glad i watched. Shout out to the GOAT Tfue! Subbed.
Glad to hear it! Thanks ❤️
Great video. Thanks for sharing all that valuable information.
No problem!
Watched your videos bc i quit fort a while back ik chp 2 s3 but no build has been a loy of fun but of course i was a bot at it but now i been doing pretty darn good thnx 😊
Let's goo!!! I was waiting for the next upload😅
More to come! Sorry for the delay.
@TobyWanShinobi No, no not a issue at all. Love the content, when do you see yourself streaming next so I know when to tune in 😁
Thank you so much. I'm brand new to the game, and this is my first shooter and BR. I'm trying to catch up to friends who are OGs and it seems impossible to not feel anxious, self conscious and impatient to improve. Your videos have helped my anxiety more than I can say. The reviews and analysis are a godsend. It's so validating to see my role model wasn't always God tier 😙
I'm proud to have your creator name in my shop
I started playing Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 3 for Zero Build, and today after 1 year of playing i can say that i'm a good player, not an insane one but i'm working hard on improving always. The main problems i have is that i usually go for flick shots too much, and don't line my crosshair with my movement, and also jump too much when fighting close range. Kinda hard to master movement when i have constant 120 ping, that's why i struggle so much to implement the movement techniques. Great video as always man, i'm glad i found your channel bc your content is the best for teaching players! Cheers from Argentina and keep up the excellent work
120 ping is rough! That's too bad. Stoked to hear that you've progresses a lot as well!
Awesome video! I started just before the Star Wars event began. I play zero build solo or with my daughters in duo and build with 3-4 buddies that have played since season 1
That's awesome! So cool that you play games with your daughters :)
Needed this video so much, thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! 🎉
I'm so glad I found ur channel it has been exactly what I needed to get my rank game up thank u so much
Love to hear that!
Sensei Toby Wan! You’re tips and training tools have helped me exponentially these past 2 weeks. I was about to go from a consistent Gold I player to be able to reach Platinum I! Something I seriously would never have thought I could achieve! The beginner/growth mindset and specific goal identification are concepts I teach my students, and have found it great to apply to these skill sets! Your videos are great! Keep up the good work, and thank you again! Looking forward to the journey of improving!
Stoked to hear that! Thank you for the kind words my friend ❤️
Amazing tutorial, Toby!
That bait you used with the chug splash, I did that with the port-a-bunker. I was inside a bush and couldn't locate the last player, so I threw it a bit far away from me, so the person automatically charged towards it, but I still lost against him 😬
Thanks Shawn... hey, it happens, but at least you had a good idea and used some creative problem solving. Only problem is you may have given them an advantage with the bunker haha
@@TobyWanShinobi lol.. that's exactly what happened
lol with my luck that would happen to me
Dude I made a playlist just for your videos. You rock 🔥🔥
My "must watch" Playlist is my best value videos for sure, if you haven't watched all videos in there yet. Thanks!
Great videos Toby!
Thanks!
This is incredibly helpful, I give you props for inventing that chug bait move. That’s funny😂
Haha thanks!
I joined the game 8 days ago. Never played video games or held a controller. Your content is well above my pay grade but I want to improve and start right. My 12 yo daughter is awesome at the game and my husband and I want to join in on the fun. Of course, rn, she thinks we’re hysterical but finding your content is giving me hope, thanks for sharing!
I’m on year two with an Azeron Classic! Love it. I need to check out your close range video as that is definitely my weak point 🙈
Awesome! Azeron team
Thanks! Started playing about a month and a half ago and love it, and while I'm not bad for a beginner I'm desperately looking to improve my aim. I get so frustrated missing shots. I just started making friends and they e been helpful (while I've played games before, I am 'older' and generally play single player games). I didn't even realize there are training rooms/maps until last week and def looking for ones to help my aim.
Watch my "best zero build warmup" video for good practice maps!
Hey Toby again super video super good content wauw what a progression you made good for you i am learning so much from you big thanks have an awesome day
Thanks so much Martin!
Thank you for this vid! Be rad to make a video on the Azeron cyborg and how you use and map it. I am looking to get one and swap from controller also and a video on this would be super useful !
Thanks for the videos and tips! They really helped me A LOT! I’m shocked at how good I’ve gotten lately. Been playing for less than a month and I’ve got 2 Victory Royales( yeah that’s not a lot,but I had none when I tried a year ago) got 14 kills and second place this morning. I get to top 25 50% of games and top 10 30% of games
I love these videos, you remain one of my top5 go to guys 🙏🏼 best most informative content all the time. Thank you so much for taking time to share this with us 😁👊🏼
I'm fighting to be your #1! I won't let you down 😆
@@TobyWanShinobi shhhh🤫 you can't tell a time that you already are my go to guy 🤣👊🏼 I absolutely love your content and I'll forever support it. Even my wife sits and listens in when I watch your videos 😂 she even said that you're the most informative guy she's listened too
Anyone* not a time 😂😂😂
@dylmcintyre3391 😄 thats awesome to hear. Thank you Dyl!
@@TobyWanShinobi I'm still bummed that I love in South Africa, would've loved to have you as my fn coach
Great learning
I started playing Fortnite about the same time, Ch 3 Season 3. I hadn’t really been a gamer for most of my life, in fact my last shooting style game I had played before Fortnite was Quake on the Nintendo 64 (showing my age there.)
It’s been a fun year for sure! I even started dipping my toes into making Fortnite content (mostly because my son loves RUclips and kept asking me to make a channel, I have no idea what I’m doing nor do I have any real direction on the channel, I’m not good enough to make too videos, but I figure if I just keep playing and just keep posting the direction will come eventually. Lol)
Amazing stuff as usual. I signed up for the highest subscription, I’m ready for my training session now sir 😂
You are the best! Thank you Airjef!!
Thanks for the tips, I'm a controller player. I actually learned some of those skills by myself, like movement and aim.
yo congrats on the boi!
Excellent content. I am 56 and and am incredibly slow building muscle memory. I have slowly (painfully slowly) gotten better. Good tips and analysis. The right shoulder peeks might be my biggest weakness and I'll work on that for sure.
Checkout my how to win 1v1's video - it will really help with the right shoulder peek strategy and using good cover.
@@TobyWanShinobi Will do - thx
THANK YOU SO MUCH! You really helped me get to Platinum 2 and i was stuck between Gold 3 & Platinum 1! ❤❤
Glad to hear that my friend!
@@TobyWanShinobiMake that Diamond 1!
One skill focus is probably best advice I’ve heard from anyone, I gotta focus on switching guns 😂
Yeah! Do it in the shotgun training map (my shotgun video) in the room with the 1v1 with jumping bot.
Another excellent and very helpful video Sensei. 🙏🏻 🥋🧘🏻♂️
Glad you found it helpful!
bro thanks this help a lot lot
No problem!
Another great video m8 -- i didn't know you used the azeron? are you on the cyborg or compact? I have been thinking about getting one but i have heard very mixed reviews. GG
I have both but I upgraded to the Cyborg for extra customization and extra keys. I love the Azeron.
This is an amazing video! How many wins do you get a week?
When i started, i was horrible from c1 s6 to c3 s4 when i started to get a bit better, i stayed untill c4 s3 when i saw your movement video and i got much bettwr from your videos
Great video! I started in May, after seeing the Star Wars skins, and I never looked back since lol I hope one day I can be as good as you 🙏
You can be! Just put in the training time .
@@TobyWanShinobi I will do, your videos have already helped me a lot, thank you!
same I downloaded fornite for the Boba skin... never played but when the starwars event started i gave it a try... now im hooked
@@olivegrove-gl3tw yep, I am enjoying the game too much now 😄 I got Anakin and some troopers, I really wanted Maul though 😬
Yes! I need these 🎉🎉🎉
This is a fantastic watch, really enjoyed watching your progress. You often talk about aim training etc. I don’t get much time these days to play, but one thing I struggle with is switching guns at right moment, yes I could use sweaty creative maps, but I’d rather use a gun switch training map, to give me more confidence with timing. Do you know of one?
I love this idea that’s probably my biggest issue as well
Checkout my shotgun aim training video - the end of it has a great map for it in a 1v1 vs a bot
See my reply to Billie 🙂
@@TobyWanShinobi just been practicing that 1v1 focusing on switching guns, for 30 mins , then went & I really felt I played so much better thanks to your advice, actually won game with great smg to shotgun switch.. Now I’m definitely more focused on practicing on one thing at a time. It really does help. Thankyou 😁👍🏻♥️
Amazing video
So good 👌🏻
Wow Fantastic video!
Thank you!
Also would love a video on the cyborg keypad
Damn this hit me hard in so many parts haha. Thanks for this and bringing it all into 1 package to consume. Time to get to work!
Love to hear that. You've got this. Would love to hear how your progressing and help you if I can.
This is hands down the best, most informative Fortnite video I've ever seen. My aim and gameplay are atrocious. I've been playing for a few years and I haven't gotten any better.
Thank you! Checkout my other videos to further your training! My must watch Playlist is a good start
@@TobyWanShinobi thanks. I'll check the out. I manage to reach tier 200 most seasons, not due to my amazing game playing ability, but, because I'm anerd and do all the quests. Last season, I completed every available quest, including all the milestones.
dude you were SO MUCH BETTER in the beginning than i am now, and i constantly upload my gameplay.
I had a lot of FPS gaming experience from the past
Wow the chug splash tactic 😂 I do that too 😂 sending Npc over to a bush or tree near me, always works end game, to flush them out😂 throwing porta bunker or fort, away from me into open another favourite😂
Your month 5 is how my current month 6 is right now. But I'm still on the Nintendo Switch. And Don't really have the means to get a computer set up but I'm trying to get better. Started with doing a lot of AFK level up just to learn controls and learn the game. Now I'm watching videos to get more knowledge, so thank you for the tips and added knowledge!
Awesome! Respect to the switch game... lots of difficulties inherent to that device - impresses me that people can do things on 30fps, wifi and an 8" screen haha
@@TobyWanShinobi thanks man! Yea lots of difficulties! Definitely wouldn't mind a bigger screen! Haha
i also use the Azeron, Im curious what button you use for jump. Good work on the vids btw, keep em comin.
I put all of my movement on middle finger. Middle forward is sprint, middle down is crouch, middle back is jump.
Nice video I have to learn not to choke in close fights🤣but I’ve learned thru your vids not to just stand still🤣oh yea happy birthday little guy
One of the many things about this awesome streamer/RUclipsr he doesn’t make you pay hundreds of dollars on his course!!
Toby Zero-Build Shinobi delivers another stonkin training video, the red vs blue tip is awesome, love that map, its more fun than regular BR pubs IMHO, played it for 4-5 hours yesterday, if you need ideas for more content I think what would help complement the advanced movement vid is probably a more basic pre-video showing what settings you need to perform the likes of the reverse mantle juke and others, plus a more detail explanation on combat timings, you make it look so smooth but it's so difficult to master in the heat of combat, do you have a twitch channel Mr Shinobi?
PS The one juke that was omitted from the Advanced Movement video is the slide into a player and then shooting them as they fly back, tricky & dangerous to pull off but looks amazing.
Thank you! Good idea on content... people have asked me for a "when to use x and y jukes" so that is pretty similar. I stream on RUclips every Tuesday and Friday. You can see my past live streams by visiting my channel and finding LIVE replays
i put off playing fortnite for like a year because all the updates were getting out of hand and it wasnt as fun to play but now i feel like giving it a shot just playing zero build
I recommend! New season starts in 2 weeks - might be a great time to jump in.
This is incredibly impressive. Bravo. I'm hoping to achieve similar results. I'm tired of being average!
I love to hear that! Join us! We will help you reach your goal . Checkout the "must watch" Playlist for training.
@@TobyWanShinobi I'll start watching when I get off work. Keep up the content!
Where is your jump bind? I also play on azeron. My jump is binded to my thumb button on the mouse. I have a feeling it's altering my aim when in combat movement. Any insight?
This kind of content is fire
Thank you my friend
Bro.. are you telling my story right now? i also started fortnite for fun with my gf back when ZB released. Very casual for months, until i started watching tfue and decided i wanted to get good at the game. i spent hours and hours on that coney crossroads map. haha very nice vid as always my friend!
Haha that's funny, very similar! Look at us now :)
I finally started to follow the core advice from this video: Track matches and reasons for deaths, click training, The Pit for practice. What the tracking quickly revealed for me is how poor I was at escaping bad situations and needed to get better at using shockwaves. Started each daily game session with just 5-10 minutes practicing in The Pit and a few more minutes of aim tracking. Doubled my previous win % over the next week. Super, super helpful. Thanks so much!
What's the aim tracking practice?
Another great video. Do you stream too? Wouldn't mind watching you play live a little!
Yep! Every Tuesday and Friday here on RUclips. Join us! We have a great time and you'll get to meet more of our great community members. They really are the best ❤
Great video! It’s a shame I didn’t find your channel during my infinite phase haha
your a good dude. period
Thank you my friend
I screw up. A LOT. I’ve still done noob things like accidentally jumping off a cliff, missing the rail or the water.
But you DO get better, in time. Practice, patience, pay attention. Always watch your six.
Deathmatch and such as practice goes highly underrated within the BR community. Thankfully Fortnite is mostly fighting instead of ratting so this is much more applicable with this game.
What are you using to aim train? Do you have a routine in game and/or Aimlabs or Kovaaks? Im coming from Valorant, after reaching my Ascendant ive gotten pretty bored, decided to pick up fortnite for fun! Loving your series, ive also been a big fan of Tfue since Season 1 Chapter 1!
I used the voltaic system in Kovaaks... mostly just grinded the voltaic novice and intermediate playlists
Love the one vs one on the tank 😄 Now that's "pressing"
Hey Toby I got 7 crowns in the first 3 days of playing is that solid enough to stream? If I kept it going I got back on because I heard of zero build
Very impressive work… It’s top of the food chain.
Thank you!!
