@@Shrutig11 Goans welcome outsiders / settlers, who are well mannered and cultured. The hatred is purely directed at the cheap crowd to come to Goa, and destroy Goa, the image, and our culture. I will tell you a true incident. 3 years ago my family and I went to Calangute for shopping at the market place. There's a Tibetan silver market there, and I wanted some earrings. Even tough Calangute & Baga were once safe and pristine, they're considered the worst beaches in Goa today, ruined completely by Tourism, but since it was close we decided to go there late at night. We walked a distance from the crowd, till there were barely any street lamps. I went off on my own to pet some stray dogs. In the distance I see a lone russian woman desperately running for her life, and she's being chased by 7-8 men like a pack of wolves. I was the only person in the area and she ran right beside me. These North Indians surrounded us in a semi-circle, and they kept nudging each other saying "Get her" "Grab her" in Hindi. After staring at all their faces, (which reduces the chance of crime, as there's a witness who memorized their faces), they started to leave one by one. Two persistent guys kept waiting and staring back at me angrily and finally left. This woman couldn't even speak, she was in tears, and choked up for 10 minutes. I took her to my mom and dad, explained the situation, and together we walked her out of the beach and to a taxi stand. I remember in my childhood Calangute was once peaceful, beautiful, and safe... I have many special childhood memories there. And it's now the most uncultured garbage beach with a disgusting crowd. All women get stared at up, down, and centre like a piece of flesh. I have several other stories like this, while not as severe -- and it's never Goans, always Tourists / Outsiders. I once saw a family of outsiders leave a garbage bag laid out like a mat full of plastic / styrofoam plates, cups and cutlery, food waste and just walk away... and the wind started carrying all of it to the shore. People like this sensible man in this video, or those who come to Goa to preserve it's beauty, keep it clean, are respected and embraced. We want cultured and well mannered people. Nor the one's who throw garbage, come for alcohol & drugs, and disturb the peace. People always say white / foreign people are respected in Goa, but not our own Indians. That's because I've seen Russian people / hippies with reachers / grabbers and garbage bags cleaning the beaches, feeding the stray dogs everyday, and being quiet and peaceful; but it's our very own Indians who do the opposite. First and foremost, I appreciate you for expressing the real sentiments of Goans and their hatred towards non-Goans. You have to understand that Goa, during the Portuguese time and even upto the late 1980s, was a big village. Everyone knew everyone and even their grandparents. Goa had a sustainable economy with every Goan having his own house, an orchard of coconut, cashew and mango trees, and a field to cultivate. That way Goans were content with what they had. Hindus, Catholics and Muslims of Goa, used to live like brothers and sisters and partake in the festivals, weddings, funerals, and other social functions of each other. We Goans were like one big family. Fast forward to 2021, Goa has been inundated with migrants from every corner of India - the rich and the poor. The rich wants a slice of the land and businesses and the poor wants to earn a living which they probably cannot do so in their home states. Almost half of the land, property, apartments and businesses are now owned by non-Goans. Even interior villages are not spared from the influx of non-Goans, who have now captured traditional Goan businesses such as vegetable and grocery stores. These non-Goans have a culture of opening their shops are 8 a.m. and closing it past 9 p.m. without any rest. Goans had a culture of siesta, which means a period of rest in the afternoon after lunch. Siesta (which people call it susegado now and infers it to laziness) was taken because of the hot and humid climate in Goa. Basically, the ideal working hours of a Goan used to be 8 hours, with 8 hours of rest and 8 hours for pursing other activities such as music, tiatros, visiting relatives and friends, attending parties and funerals and so on. Australia and most of the European countries follow the same rule of work, rest and play of 8 hours. This cultural aspect of Goans was scorned by the non-Goans and they started calling Goans as lazy people. So the first casualty of the penetration of non-Goans into Goan businesses is siesta. Most non-Goans have the preconceived notion that every Goan girl or woman or for that matter any Goan girl wearing a short skirt or a bikini is of loose morals and easy prey. It is normal for Goans to wade in the waters at a beach in shorts or bikinis and not in sarees or salwars as many non-Goans do. The worst part is the ogling. Most non-Goan men ogle at our women and girls as if they have never seen a part of human flesh in their lives. And when they are drunk, they make advances and even grope our girls and women. Goans perceive such non-Goans as uncouth, perverts, mannerless as they burp loudly in a restaurant after eating food and for their unclean dirty habits of spitting and chewing paan. It is for these reasons, Goans hate the non-Goans as they feel that our culture and their culture do not gel. I think the rest of the reasons why Goans hate non-Goans have been exemplary covered by you. Kudos for that. A small correction about your historical fact on Vasco da Gama. Vasco da Gama reached India after rounding the Cape of Good Hope in 1497 and not in 1524. He arrived at Calicut on the Malabar Coast, which is in Kerala now at a place called Kappad. Goa was conquered by Afonso de Albuquerque in 1510 from Adil Shah, a Muslim ruler. Unlike British India, Portugal considered Goa as their overseas territory and all Goans as Portuguese citizens. It is for this reason that Goans born before 1961 and their two generation are still eligible for Portuguese nationality. The Indian nationality was imposed upon Goans after 1961 during the military administration of Goa. Portugal recognized the sovereignty of India over Goa only in 1975. In a nutshell, the influx of non-Goans into Goa has destroyed the way of life of Goans, their work-ethics, communal harmony, eating habits, businesses and robbed them of their land. Worse, Goans fear that soon they will become a minority in their own land.
Anyway, overall you have done a good job to throw light on those non-Goans who think that Goa is Pattaya and anything goes on. Cheers!

Nicely expressed! Another reason why we Goans hate 'Ghantis' is because the crime rate has increased in the past few years, due to influx of migrants. The entire lot of people coming to Goa for a living are looked down upon because of a few. This reason has also impacted the safety of women in the state. Liked the format in which you explained. Absolutely agree with you.
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this video and explaining what we are ( GOANS ). You have done your homework 💯. Hate is not the word I suggest but the culture of our Indian brothers and sisters simply doesn’t match with the Goan culture. In other words when you visit Goa keep your culture back at home and enjoy what we offer you. Certainly we do keep our Beaches clean, the Roads , and beauty of our Nature flora and fauna. I wish I meet you personally and explain the meaning of Ghanti word. Meaning of this word is just been misused or misunderstood by some people. But thousands thx to you. Please do visit Goa. People of Goa love all Indians . Viva Goa !! Let’s Goa !!! Be Goa !!!
Thanks Bro..It's really a very good topic you selected. You really spoke like a true goan. We Goans need such humble and sensitive outsiders (?)..All d very best to Ghumakkad family..
As a Goan , i sincerely thank you for clearing a lot of misconceptions. I hope you and family stay back. If i may add 2 more reasons Goans resent outsiders. 1) Crime has shot through the roof and over 90% of these are commited by outsiders. Our women dont feel safe anymore like how it used to. 2) Slums coming up across the state.
Spot on! You hit the nail on the head I am a Goan ❤ origin & yes whatever you have said is true. Because of this there are hardly any Goans in Goa. It’s the people that make the land what it is. Breaks my heart to see my Goa like this.
Goans are really very good people. Those who are spreading misconception about them in social media must be booked to justice and It is totally doable.
Can’t agree more, please respect our land our traditions and customs!! Moreover any religious divide doesn’t exit here! This video is what Goa tourism is about.
I NEVER EXPECTED THIS THANK YOU VERY MUCH GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY BUT MY FIRST COMMENT IS FOR THOSE WHO SPOIL THE NAME OF GOA N GOAN PEOPLE IF I HAVE HURT YOUR FEELINGS I M SORRY YOUR VIDEO DESERVES AN OSCAR AWARD I M REALLY SURPRISED THANK YOU
Thank you for speaking for goans. I am comming from family which fought for Goa 's freedom. We Goans are rich in finance, culture, heritage ,religion. We believe in our culture. We respect highly all religions and specifically women.we dont hate any Indians. But if outsiders come with wrong ideas we are sorry. Goa is our home should not be presumed as party capital of India.
Very well said, if you want to enjoy the Goan way of living, go with the flow and don't impose your lifestyle here, otherwise you will turn Goa into the place you have come from, and you have lost the reason you wanted to be in Goa.
This is the best video, I am sure all those who have a wrong picture of goa and the people of goa. All who want to visit goa, please see this video first 🙏. Thank you for this video
Thank you for this video. There is a lot of misconceptions of Goa and Goans but this video provides some clarity of what’s happening in Goa and what every Goan is going through.
Thank you dear..God bless you for the real truth of Goa being an outsider, you have learnt so much about us and our culture we love fun, we love dancing , we love our beaches and cleanliness was in our blood… now we are tired of cleaning what others leave behind… and we love our state… so love urs too make it a haven as God has created all places in their own beauty!
As a Goan, I absolutely agree with all of your reasons!!! Although, I'd like to add another point to your list... You touched upon it briefly but I'd like to elaborate further. We have been receiving false publicity all around that someone can consume alcohol anywhere in Goa and there won't be consequences... So I've seen tourists who literally ride bikes while holding a beer can in their hand!!!! I've grown up in the coastal belt so this has been a very common sight.. The fact that they couldn't care less about our rules and regulations absolutely disgusts me!!!! Why do they think it's fine to do such things in our state when they wouldn't do it in their own??? And not to mention the ruckus/ traffic they cause due to drunk driving... Anyway, I commend your detailed explanation👌🏼 Thanks for being utterly precise about our feelings✌️ I'm a first time visitor to your channel and this video is really good!!! A thumbs up from me👍
Visited 1st time on your channel and I really appreciate the things that you have highlighted in your video for people coming outside Goa.. Love from Goa... bruhh Keep visiting Goa
Thanks brother for uploading this video. It means so much to us Goans. Couldn't have expressed better than what you said about us. That's exactly what we are by nature. God bless you bro. 🙏
Unfortunately this is a reality of all Colonial states, UTs and hill stations of India like Goa, Pondicherry, Diu, Daman, Bassein, Ooty, Manali etc. In some cases locals have lost their identity and forced to migrate. Local people are neglected. Local resources exploited for appeasement.
Very Beautifully xplained the feelings of r Goans we appreciate Ur kind of tourists n nt d one hv a misconception abt r Goans lifestyle n culture... thank you so much Bro🤗
Very well said. You have clearly stated the reasons why we goans hate outsiders as they portray goa in a bad light. We are peace loving, social and broad minded people unlike the rest of India. I am proud of my goan heritage and culture. Outsiders are welcome to goa but they should stay in their limits and not bring their backward and narrow mindedness to my state of Goa. Thank you for the video. You have said it all. I do hope all the non goans out there listen and learn from your video.👍
GOLDEN GOA" is the word to describe its Natural beauty, and. " SUSEGAD" are the people of Goa. Initially outsiders were called Ghantis as these people came from across neighbouring state of Karnataka through the GHATS. Nowadays we come across people from all over the country which isn't a problem. Some are very nice, gentle and loving people . And there are others that come to Goa are rude, always loud and abusive, stare at women, stand in the middle of Roads like Cows except the cows sit. do not follow traffic rules. In Short Goans are peace loving, caring , humble and God fearing people, if you do not have these qualities, one has to avoid Goa. ADEUS.
🥰 it's true we Goan like live SUUSHYEGAADA life.Thank u for this beautiful explanation of Our Goans. 🥰 God bless you Nd Ur most welcome again in Our Beautiful Goa. 🥰
Being a goan, I surely agree with U sir, due to my work I have also been traveling around india and each n every state doesn't discriminate me by saying GATI/OUTSIDER which usually goan's say...but the matter of fact is *Few goan's r lazy and they don't like to work under anyone that's y u see many of outsiders being hired. Goan's need to teach younger generation to forget that they r *bhatkar ( landlords)... GOAN'S we need to support our people in thick n thin..Promote local things that can ultimately put it on world map...( Which goan influencers do )
Thanks a lot brother for your good words about us goans and our beautiful Goa may God bless you and your family always we will always respect tourists like you thanks again stay safe stay blessed

I really thank you from the bottom of my Heart for this Video..... We Goan and peace loving people and very welcoming we will never interfere with anyone unnecessarily... I remember since the time I was growing how the State of Goa was and how Goa is now ....I would say there is massive difference we all used to live in Harmony no matter which religion we never have Hatred amoung us or we never hated any tourist or anyone from other states .....But now what is happening is these people who have settled in Goa they dome rescpet the land and the people ...there is so much filth around ...so many criminal activities happening land mafia......Brother all we ask and say is come to Goa enjoy yourself and respect the land and the people and our culture Goa is much more then just parties......I personally have confronted so many tourist when I see them littering ....cooking in th road side and keeping the Garbage behind so many tourist drink in the Beach and break the bottles on the beach and bury the broken bottles 🙆♂️🙆♂️ ....... we will never go to any other ask do the same .....So we also expect the same as will never go to another state and grab their land and build houses or do illegal things and yes many north Indian who are filthy rich they come and do Dadagiri here which is not right ......I hope this video reaches Many fellow Indian who come to Goa....... PLEASE RESPECT OUR LAND AND OUR CULTURE ...Thanks .....Sir much respect to you
Well spoken , For 8 years you have come to goa you nailed it .Thanks an Cheers , We all are Indians , As for myself when ever I visit other parts of our country I respect and obey the laws . that's what I expect from all who visit Goa
Thank you so much bro u spoke our heart each and every word is very much true to the deepest, u nailed it .Our Goa was as beautiful as Heaven but very sad to say its getting ruined by outsiders as well as some of the insiders for their personal greed
I fully agree with your views and endorse it. Goans are very hospitable people but that doesn't mean that you impose your opinion and interfere with their culture. The best way to prevent unwanted and low category people is to make tourism expensive. Low budget tourism is another factor that invites unwanted visitors. Long live Goans and their culture.
Brother I like the way u talk. Very stright forward but in a nice manner. And thanks for choosing such sensitive topic and also thanks for presenting in a nice way.
I'm from Kerala and my wife is a Goan from Sancoale, Vasco. Whatever he said are points that my wife tells me, kind of on a daily basis. Prior to marriage, I also was shown in the media the image that Goa is a state where you can do whatever he hell you want. It was after our marriage that I spend a considerable time roaming around Goa with my wife that my whole perception of Goa changed. In one word, I should say that Goa is exactly like Kerala in terms of the landscape and climate, but with a way chilled out people. When my Goan wife comes to Kerala wearing shorts, she gets stares as if she is a celebrity like Virat Kohli. The stares make all the good things I talk to her about Kerala engulfed in that embarrassment. When I walk in a lungi in Goa, people do stare thinking what is he wearing, but those are never uncomfortable stares. They are a bunch of people who mind their own business and do not bother about the other persons dressing or behavior. As said in the video, you can pick a Goan from an outsider by simply noticing the chill factor. Goa is just a wonderful state with wonderful people. I always get a king like feeling when I visit my mother in law or other people in Goa who know me through my wife. I've even taken my wife at midnight to Bogmalo beach and spend time till 1am there with no issues at all. This I can do at Kozhikode beach also, but for sure, some random sadachara police will have khujli seeing us sit like that at that "time ". Many people have tried to put my wife into that Mallu box just because she is married to me. As we agreed prior to marriage, I always accept that she is a Goan, and not a mallu girl, and she also understands that if her husband has to choose between her and porotta+beef, the latter would always win. So in short, enjoy in Goa, but stay in your limits. Don't think that the women you see there in the beaches or casinos or anywhere are there as your bounty. Feel free to check our journey with #munchkinwedspumpkin or #keralawedsgoa.
So true, I never thought about it but as a Goan I have never littered ever even once in my life. It was a shock to go to other parts of India and see people carelessly litter
being a goan i totally agree with you . its due to over migration our native language konkani is on the verge of extinction.i guess after sanskrit its the most endangered scheduled indian language
I have been visiting goa since 1975. My forefathers were goans who had to migrate due to religious persecution. But that's another story. I do agree with you on many points. Namely, unruly behaviour of tourists. Principally from the north. I know from personal experience that trade and business have now changed hands from the locals to immigrants with big money. You have mentioned land mafia and profiteering from development activities. That's right. But please show me one state in India, where it does not happen. This is a sellers market. Prices can only skyrocket. From what I know, mining was the only industrial activity in early post independence days in Goa. Even then, very few locals opted to engage in manual labour. So labourers from Andhra and Karnataka settled here. As you must be aware, true blue goans were/are prone to susegad attitude. Businesses small or big, cannot operate on those lines any longer. Especially with a spurt in population. People need quick service and value for money. Are the locals in a position to provide that? Do they have that mindset? I don't have any such experience. Now about jobs. Securing a job is not a right. If you have the right skillsets, yes you can get a job. Otherwise someone with a better work profile and also willing to be hired at a lower cost is bound to snatch it away from you. Period. So it's time goencars awaken to this fact. Now getting to the crux of the issue, lands were not snatched away. They were sold by the locals, perhaps willingly, perhaps not so willingly. Drugs. Allegedly sold by foreigners, but definitely helped along by locals. With a good amount of help from politicians. Prostitution. Does exist. As everywhere else. In fact it's the oldest known profession historically. Goa has the highest p.c income thanks to overseas remittances. It has nothing to do with local industry or agriculture,or trade, save for the tourism industry. Now with this newly spawned hatred for outsiders,I wonder how long that distinction can exist. The USP of goan tourism industry is liquor alone So far as beaches go,I'm sure Karnataka has better virgin beaches. Kerala has a much superior infrastructure for tourism. But liquor is not cheap there. And when liquor and tourists come together, the only outcome is filth, eve teasing, and unruly behaviour. The immediate remedy is to shore up policing, improve public sanitation and impose heavy fines for littering. These are my impressions on the issue. You and perhaps others too, may not agree with me. But as you have made it amply clear, this is a logical debate/discussion. So there it is.!
So U are a New Goan, hope all New Goans adapts, assimilate, take the baton ahead and protect the Old, take forward the progressive attitude of Human behaviors ahead.
Goans are the most jolly good people in India I have ever met. I am a teetotaller and a pure vegetarian but I visit Goa every year and proudly call Goa my second home. I receive so much of affection by Goans whenever in Goa but I have noticed the north indian gondaism in Goa these north people are a threat to Goenkarpon in Goa. I pray to God that regains it's purity of what Goa was 25 to 20 years before.

Be Goa !!!
I from Delhi and really appreciate your views. I frequently travel Goa feel like second home.

Thanks, as a non Goan i absolutely agree with you and with this video.
This message should be shared with all states as it's all very beautifully said .. and 100% true
Goans, especially the Catholics hate Hindu Indians.
As a Goan, appreciate ur efforts to understand the real problem of this beautiful State 👍
Nice message but also the goans have to be blamed for selling goa to outsider
As a Goan I agree! This needs to be implemented asap. Basically it's about ones mentality. *Clean India, Green India* 💚
Can’t agree more, please respect our land our traditions and customs!! Moreover any religious divide doesn’t exit here! This video is what Goa tourism is about.
Thank you brother. Appreciate whatever you spoke about Goans which is absolutely true. Thanks. God bless you
I really liked this frank video
I m a Goan myself

Thank you bro. Could have not explained better then this.thanjs
Very honest video. Well appreciated.

After watching this video, you have a new Goan Subscriber... 🙂

Thank you Sir! If more there were more tourists that thought like you we'd welcome them with open arms.
Damn. I agree. Bro bohot acchi video hain. Finally somebody understands our goan's pain
A thumbs up from me👍
Thanks for your frank and good observations. You are very honest and straightup. You have come with an open mind. Keep it up!!
Visited 1st time on your channel and I really appreciate the things that you have highlighted in your video for people coming outside Goa..

Very nice information.. keep it up

U said it rightly 👍
Thanks for understanding us… we always welcome sensible and responsible tourists like you ❤️
Very well said.

Good advice for tourists 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for the video. Very important that you made it at this time.
So beautifully explained ❤️
Thank you
Very true,we Goans totally agreed with you sir ,good examine about Goans people
GOLDEN GOA" is the word to describe its Natural beauty, and.
ADEUS.

GOAN'S we need to support our people in thick n thin..Promote local things that can ultimately put it on world map...( Which goan influencers do )
Rightly said Nanubab. Dignity of labour must prevail.

I am Goan, watching your video for the first time. You have explained everything nicely. 👍 Strict action should be taken against RUclips'r like you mentioned who is portraying wrong image and spoiling image of Goa. Such RUclips'r also spoils minds of viewer who are planning to come to Goa and feeds wrong perception about Goa.

Thank you so much bro u spoke our heart each and every word is very much true to the deepest, u nailed it .Our Goa was as beautiful as Heaven but very sad to say its getting ruined by outsiders as well as some of the insiders for their personal greed
Great! Love the way you articulated a lil risky topic, but I feel it's lil stereotyped we are much more diverse in good and bad waysc
All said by you is true.
Yeah exact explaination about Goans behaviour. We like kindness🙂🙂🙂🙂

Explained in a simple🥰 Loved watching 👍🏻
Very beautifully Said....m
I am a Goan myself and u spoke from my ❤️...we like respectful guest like you... thank you for those words..

Being an goan,I like your video since u hve spoken d truth.thks bro.
So true, I never thought about it but as a Goan I have never littered ever even once in my life. It was a shock to go to other parts of India and see people carelessly litter
So true. We outsiders must be sensitive to the local people's way of life and learn from them. How to care and be kind and especially not to litter.
being a goan i totally agree with you . its due to over migration our native language konkani is on the verge of extinction.i guess after sanskrit its the most endangered scheduled indian language
Very well explained 👏👌
Appreciation from a proud goan🤟
Nice Video Bro!!! Thanks
I second your opinion. Thanks for putting more light to the topic
Awesome thank you bro anytime your welcome with respect
So U are a New Goan, hope all New Goans adapts, assimilate, take the baton ahead and protect the Old, take forward the progressive attitude of Human behaviors ahead.
Wonderful video.. :)

VERY VERY VERY TRUE GOD BLESS YOU❤❤❤❤❤ AND ALL
