How To: Diagnose Warn Winch Solenoids

My Warn winch would not spool in the cable but would still spool out the cable under power. This is a typical problem for Warn winches and is easily repairable once you know which solenoids are bad. I will take you step by step thru the process of testing each of the four separate solenoids on my X8000i winch. You can get replacement solinoids from Amazon or elsewhere by searching for "WARN 72631 Solenoid Replacement". They typically cost about $15 each.
