Nice vid Mark. Came here from the Rolex forum and then saw you made one on the V60. I am an advocate for this too. I worked in specialty coffee - as a barista but also helping with roasting - and this is my favourite method for home. I’m glad you’re happy with it. If you get a grinder, I would recommend at that stage going back to weighing your beans in order to find the sweet spot for extraction. Received wisdom is an 18:1 water:coffee ratio, but I generally go for 17.5 to 1. Also, after your bloom, try a slower pour from the centre. As you said, pourover technique is forgiving, but I find the small details in the pour really matter. Great vid on the Sub btw. Stay well, Matt
3:59 They say you should clean the jug after blooming. Blooming releases the CO2 in the coffee grounds. While it is not really necessary, for most doing it produces a better tasting brew to them. I suggest you try with and without blooming and see how you like it, you do not even have to be limited to 30 seconds, but that is a good benchmark. Like when I bloom, I usually let it it sit for like 45 seconds instead of 30. The nice thing about the pour over method is that there is really no right or wrong way to use it, as allows for more flexibility and everyone would have different ways of brewing to suit their taste. It may take awhile before you get things dialed in and some practice to maintain consistency, but once you do, it will be a perfect cup every time.
Simple reason i like the v60 is the simple cleaning of the dripper 02 and the hario 01 glass server. Of course i like the taste too. Also broke my first hario server and bought another bc i like the look a lot. ^^
Do you need it? No. Do you want it yes! Waiting for my V20. I should have stocked up when I lived in Japan since it really is quite cheaper there. I use my Bodum Frenchpress then went on to the Moka pot. This will be the third so thanks for making the comparison. Appreciate you!
Thank you for your review, Mark! I can highly recommend James Hoffmanns instructions for using the v60 if you want to improve your technique even more :)
Very nice content bro. One question, is this the regular glossy ceramic v60 dripper? Cause they released a matte white one and I'm all over the internet to see comparisons on how matte the new one is.
Thanks! This is the regular glossy ceramic- I actually wasn’t even aware they released a matte one. I think they have a cheaper plastic white one but I think that ones glossy too- sorry I don’t have more info!
I loves this simple ans easy acces video!
Thank god it’s possible to make coffee without many unnecessary stuff
Good job! Ive been looking for reviews about these products all over RUclips. This helped me a lot! Thank you

You're definitely a natural at this. Good seeing you today.
Too kind my man, see you on Mon!
Great video Mr. Kwak! I'm looking at V60 setups and this convinced me to buy.
Great video! I just bought a V60. Quick question, what camera are you using?
Im moving into an apartment this fall for school so I might have to pick this up, good review man!
Thanks and enjoy that coffee my man!
Ahhh, the nice and beautiful accessories rabbit hole...
Thank you for the review. I teach and this will come in handy instead of drinking the coffee at work that not very good.

Hopefully you have an awesome experience with it. French press is legit, but pour over is definitely my favorite.
@@MarkKwak very excited to get it. Have you tried a Moka pot? If you have, what are your thoughts on it im comparison with pour over?
I went from Moka pot to bodum French press now looking at getting one of these undecided yet though

I just found out that the matte series is exclusive for Asian countries. These items have the 'V60' badge instead of the usual 'Hario'.
Nice daytona. :) and pleasant video.
Hah video on that to come some day
first time or 100th time, you should be using the scale. even slight differences are noticable and it's not that hard to just use it anyways.
I don't have that long spout kettle, u can do it with regular wide lip kettle yes?
Yes, though the flow rate and amount of water will be fast and huge.
Apart from a very detailed review , u r so cute :)
Hah will take the compliment!
You preground your coffee you monster?!
It is true, I am a monster... but sometimes I'm a lazy bum :)
