That is actually very useful, the other day I had problems with non-straight quantisation and then it came to my mind: I can just change the time signature and adjust the tempo! That worked very well, only you need to get used to it.
I almost spit my coffee out. This is an almost identical structure and tone to a current project of mine! Very cool to see other people making this type of stuff in BW.
When i learned how to use multi outputs with drum samplers my life changed forever, I don’t mind the effects in addictive or superior but I’m way more familiar with my other plugins i find that i tend to get a better sound. But i like the idea of setting that kinda limitation for myself. Thanks for the inspiration
Extremely tight drums. Super interesting techniques with the loudness split and crossfader normalizer. Doesn’t seem to mangle the phase when splitting bands might need to check that out
Sounds good - nice to see some of the new 5.1 toys in use and hear what they're doing. The drums in particular sound very good to me. Is there anything special about "addictive drums" that allows you to get these drums? Or could you have gotten similar with XO? Or even with native bitwig drum machine + your own samples?
AD2 gives 1.) real drum samples with 2.) all velocity layers and 3.) different play modes on rides and cymbals. Its actually a lot you get out of the plugin with different vel settings. With xo you only get 1 sample for the snare, with ad2 i get, god knows 2k samples, different mic positions, settings for buzz and good samples for all drum kits. It´s probably also true for superior drummer and similar vsts.
Can I just say your story on how this ended up being a drum and bass track is classic. I'm going to make an ambient track......time for drums, I think I'm going to make a drum and bass track lol
I can always learn something from you! I always had the issue: how can I use only single notes from a certain track for sidechaining, and now, thanks to you, I know!! So easy once you know just with a layer with 2 note filters so you can grab the note ... but I did not think of it.
no. but afaik it's a combined, compressor, distortion, transient shaper, and low end boost. so i guess you can kinda built it youreself in the grid or a few devices :)
@@PolarityMusic please do! It will help me a lot, because my routine if the project exist is to enable/disable plugins to see how the sound was different between stages. Even if there are external plugins the project file is helpfull. Thank you!
Epic music Pol. Swear by Addictive drums too. Excellent lib for snares and cymbals! 👌🥳
yes! I hope they upgrade the GUI in the future and add more drum kits..
It does look like a Waves plugin from 2005, but it still sounds great 😂
that loud split trick is amazing and I'm definitely going to do this moving forward. Thank you for the amazing tips as always
also a big fan of Generate, glad you use it to would love to see how you use it in more of your productions because it's a beast of a plugin
I always love unexpected time signatures. That 17/8 is 🔥

Unless you are a DJ and like boomer mixing 😂
I love odd meters! 17/8 for DnB is right up my alley! Also love Addictive Drums. Been using it for a while now.
Nice one as always. Loving the time signature change up in the drop!
just joined this channel, absolute gem. thank you for providing such delicate insights, impressive.
drums sounds dope! thanks for video
That track is banging, great stuff!
Dude this is sick

Great track! Reminds me of The Hole by Noisia which is one of my favourites. :)
Great, enjoying the video!

Love the drums! You sold me addictive drums. :)

I also tend to prefer having sounds on different channels, but here it worked quite well i think :)

Dope dude. I use magnetic drums in bitwig and can get it to sound like this but starting to think about getting addictive drums

100% pure certified organic banger
❤
WOW, great work, love this track 👍✌🤞
trying to get behind odd time signatures for dnb since a few weeks now
how did you remove the fundamental from the snare so cleanly?
Where can we hear the whole song? Is it posted to bandcamp yet?
no it's work in progress. not finished yet. but probably at some point at bandcamp / patreon yes!
the bitwig god
🥰
Day 1 of asking polarity to recreate the corpus effect in bitwig
Nice when does it finally come out and do they care about fixing the automation interpolation at all
the beta? end of november or earlier i hope

thats why i do these videos! thanks for the feedback 🥰
Der Track eskaliert sehr geil! Darf gerne komplett ausarten und zerstören. Ich feier den gerade sehr! 🚀
da geht noch was :D
@@PolarityMusic Ich hoffe ich kriege das Announcement des Track mit, oder? ODER?! :))
klaro :D
Amazing, I recently just switched to BitWig from ableton , do you know if theres something like the the Drumbuss plugin from ableton in Bitwig?
no. but afaik it's a combined, compressor, distortion, transient shaper, and low end boost. so i guess you can kinda built it youreself in the grid or a few devices :)
Hi, Robert. Is this project downloadable from your patreon? Do you share project files there?
hey not yet, but i can put it up if you want :)

How can you side chain the kick only?
I use a note filter, singling out the kick note (C1) and then using or grabbing that with the note sidechain on the bass channel.
@@PolarityMusic So i put a note filter after AD but I cant pick it up with my ducker VST. What am I missing?
Wow... what specs you have, seems ur pc is very powerful
5950x 32gb ram 3070ti gpu
@@PolarityMusic that is very powerful
DnB in 15/8! Is everything ok at home?
/jk btw 😅
Oof, Addictive Drums is so good for character drum sounds.
lol 17/8 you mad lad.
Waw..
