LOOOOOL....Props to you for giving dnb a tutorial shot! It's one of the most diverse genres of electronic music, there are so many ways to make drum & bass. Many people are scared to try it because it takes quite a lot of practice. As an american dnb producer myself it's good to see people getting interested in it! Bring it on!!
What do you mean intricate, diverse and hard to make? Just take a amen break, break it up by bars and rearrange them, then use a baseline of choice. tada. every pendulum track ever. (no diss i love pendulum)
Gotta give you your due respect man, your analogies are that weird they're actually 100% easy to understand, impressive 😂 Keep the vids coming, a lot of people could learn a lot from your perspective on production! 👏
This video was hilarious. The funniest part, was the self-mockery of how Americans slowed down the amen break while Europe made it faster. As someone from the UK who listens to a lot of drum and bass, I can say your advice was really helpful and it looks like you know a lot about dnb!
Yay! New Bruhm and Dayse tips we TOTALLY already knew! AND Derrick more or less helped! Underbelly, you saved 1997 from the gnawing futility of time's cruel indifference!
Herr Sargnagel You mean the illusion of having more bass in your tracks, you’d have more bass in the room but you’d probably end up with the lack of bass in your actual mix.

This was a nice tutorial for drums but you missed the bass.... To compensate for that I will turn this into an absolute item of jump up filth like we love it here in Bristol, big up
Bro sounds high af lmao but thank u so much for this vids, for us nn-native english speakers person we appreciate slow explanation, I'm gonna dig your channel mate
Underbelly is the best teacher, you can't forget what he tells you because he has the narrative. Me and probably others would love to see a video of how uncle Joe would jam 4 on 4 micro house beat with his walking stick in the basement with Helga and some neighbors. Wowzers!
Great content as usual! This is definitely how DnB producers used to make their drums. The techniques have changed in recent years, and there's a lot less use of vinyl/acoustic break samples. Most of the "big name" producers now are creating the acoustic hits in Superior Drummer or Addictive Drums, then using FM synthesis to create the low end transients. I do love the sound of those old skool jungle breaks though.
agreed. Midi triggered samples are a welcome addition, but i like them used as an addition, not as a replacement. The chopped up live breaks add so much character and gave the genre its unique sound. Using only quantized midi rolls creates such a sterile sound. You have to put a lot of effort and creativity to not make it sound generic. A well arranged 'slice pattern' immediately sounds amazing. Like, before you even add fx.

Can u go over how u set up your projects in the future? Like why do u have your drum racks set at 6db instead of default 0db, etc.
I think is for mixing purposes and space for compression, I may be wrong bro...
