The fact that shen litterally killed all that po had ever love for him to then beat him after finding inner peace in himself is amazing and shows how far you can come with acceptance
The biggest irony of this is that Shen was defeated by himself (the black & white warrior). He was so scared of the prophecy that he ended up destroying himself
Debatable.. defeated could also be mean that his march was stopped.. Rather than being defeated by a panda, he got defeated by his own weapon which is represented as 'black' and by Po who found his inner peace represented as 'white'

Talk about the ultimate never judge a book by its cover movies. The name alone “king fu panda” with Jack Black, time to ask for refunds. But watching these movies not only their funny, but man they are beautiful. One of my favorite movie series of all time.
The little bunny that goes "eugh" and screams in the village is actually me! KFP2 and the whole trilogy is one of the most visually stunning series and combined with the impeccable score, they're honestly just some of the greatest movies ever! Plus this movie is the second animated movie directed by a woman from a major studio and became the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman at the time!!
In high school we were learning about “Taoism” in religion class, so we watched this movie. It was awesome, we’d also meditate outside during some classes. Kung Fu Panda has great messages and themes, my class and I learned a lot from this kid’s movie!!!
You know, this "I decided to leave out the radishes" hit me harder this time (I've been reading a book about how you gotta make sacrifices in life and I'm in that kinda mood). He loved cooking. But then he met and loved Po. And he decided that Po was worth giving up the radishes. That's... I love these guys. P.S. AND HIS NIGHTMARE WAS THE OPPOSITE. How did I not notice.
There was one small detail I don't know if you noticed. Shen closed his eyes before his death, and when he was fighting Po at the very last scene, he was cutting those ropes. He wanted death, he could not let go, not only his parents but also himself. That's why he acted mad at the end. Overall, Shen is my favourite character . The complexity of this movie is insane!
This deals with a lot issues. Loss, being honest with one's friends, learning to go of the past, and what it means to be family. Po learns all these things. It also teaches about facing your fears. Even though I mention po that is a good lesson for anyone. The third movie brings everything altogether.
In the first movie Oogway says “One often meets his destiny on the path he takes to avoid it” and i think it heavily correlates to Lord Shens prophecy... i swear these movie were just masterpieces... except part 3 IMO it seemed rushed

The voice actors they had in the first one, i was blown away. Then they do this shit? Add Gary Oldman, Van Damme, Michelle Yeoh, Haysbert, and Garber?? Jesus Christ! What a cast!
Something to bear in mind is each of the trilogy deal with one part of the trio of balance or well-being. The 1st film = Body The 2nd film = Mind I'm fairly certain you know what the 3rd will cover :-) Wonderful films that I really think will transcend generations like early Disney.
My favorite thing in this movie is tigress and po’s interaction, bc it’s really genuine and non judgmental and caring, while both characters still have their own thoughts and problems

Shen is basically a Voldemort Peacock lol. The only reason that he was defeated is because he chose his enemy and made it so through the prophecy, very clever story telling really. It's you are the reason for your downfall. If Harry was more a general prophecy, like I don't know born to normal parents who didn't defy the dark lord at all on like the 7th of January, I bet you he'd just kill all the wizarding babies who were born on that day. Morbid but definitely closer in reasoning to Voldemort than any other villain I've seen in an animated movie.
I think what the goat meant by a warrior in black in white I think Wasn't really gonna be po But as you can see in some scenes that lord shen is also in black and white so does that mean shen defeated himself
Interesting theory, but the warrior in black and white was represented by a yin and yang, which Po turns into as he deflects the last ball. Still a very good theory tho
Thats what I like about the Kung fu panda franchise.It always shows to persfectives, one for the main or side charecters and one for the villian.It shows why they fight or try to defeat the charecter.They just feel betrayed and unloved.Ive never seen another franchise do this

You have alot to say, but you start talking in the middle of the dialogue and it breaks your immersion so you miss the entirety of the scene. I'd rather you pause the movie if you want to speak on a specific part so you wont miss the entirety of the scene.

You have to admit tho. Shen's fighting style looks so graceful and do cool to look at. He was 6x harder to animate compared to the rest 👀

I watched that scene where he fights the masters on replay for half an hour straight once. Its just so mesmerizing.
Shen was such an amazing villain. And the fact that he was literally voiced by Gary Oldman makes it even better! Oh boy i love this movie so much. ✨✨

This movie is just pure masterpiece, the visuals, action scenes, the backstory and Shen is just one of the best animated movie villains of all time.
As someone who is adopted, this movie really hit hard with me.
