I've had one for 2 or 3 years, and used it pretty heavily. At the time, I had a job where I was outside a lot and I'd always have this playing pretty much all day (fairly loudly). Battery would last all day, and was pretty impressed with the sound quality. If I had one thing I'd like to change, I'd prefer just a bit more bass, but maybe that's just because I like a lot of bass in my music. Overall, I'd give it an 8.5 outta 10.
I've had this speaker for 2 years ish, it's fallen off the top of a CH-53E helicopter that I used to rebuild, it's been tossed around and in my bag, it's been on my work bench and dealt with high vibrations, etc. This thing is beast. Still works like a champ. I upgraded to the Lifejacket and love Altec Lansing's products. Also, I can't get the wireless stereo pairing to work though.
I also own the large version (life Jacket) And even though the large version is louder, The small H2o "sounds" better. Stay tuned for my review on the LJ. Thanks for watching... BB23
I have the boom jacket two and just had to get t replaced under warranty after buying it last July (I replaced in January 2018) Never submerged it in water, never exposed to any elements. It stayed in my house or my backpack or on a dry surface at work and it eventually began to have trouble charging, the port came loose within 2-3 months. Around 5 months it just started shutting off at a certain volume, especially if its colder. What good is waterproof or “everything proof” if it can’t do the basic jobs it was designed for? (On top of never being exposed to things it’s supposedly resistant to) other than that it was a really good speaker with good sound for the first few months. Not sure if the 100$ price tag ended up being worth it :/
Not ideal for bass boosted songs especially at full volume. And it sometimes make annoying beeping sounds even if fully charged. If you're not particular with music, this is okay. I would give this a 5/10. My charging cable and aux cable are no longer working, 8mos of irregular use. Bluetooth connection must be disconnected from last connected device in order to connect to new one. I was impressed with this one before, but eventually there are better sounding speakers. If you have one, you will realize it tends to distort on high volume.
Does it actually allow you to ask it questions like it says in the box when you open it? If so please do me a favor show me how it is done. I would be very thankful
I traded a guy 3 cigarettes for the original A.L H20 and it took a beating for years. It was a great speaker. I'm picking up the Model 3 on sale today.
Does anyone know why mines sounds like the bass is dimmed like when I play a high bass song it sounds like the volume lowers Whenever the bass drops and it goes right back to the normal volume each time.
Have had mine for a little over a year and now cannot get it to take a charge - tried numerous different cables and outlets but will not charge. I used it in the top shelf of my shower so it didn’t really even get wet. Any ideas?
Could be a bad battery. My guess is a moisture problem. I have a JBL doing the same thing and haven't had time to troubleshoot. I do however plan on doing that and posting a video sometime down the road... Cheers.

I have two of these that don't turn on, they charge but they won't hold there power. I'm thinking of opening it up in order to fix it. Hopefully it will be able to be fixed since it seems like a pretty decent speaker
There's a similar model that is easier to open which has pegs to access inside but on this model, only one screw is found near the tripod compartment. The only way to open it is to pry open the speaker where the glue is located which i'm planning to do soon. Hopefully I will be able to fix it; although, it may not be water proof after putting back together. 🤔
The Altec sounds good for what it is, Ive heard worse, it is what it is. 2) 1 1\2 " full range speakers are not going to have great highs, and deep Bass. Over all it still is one of my favs., I listened to a lot of these units. Buy one try it. If you don't like.....Take it back.
I have 3 models all bought this year. Not one of them pair to each other in any order. This is BULLSHIT! So if you want to pair 2 , get a matching set . I call tech support and the guy had a bad accent so I could not really understand him.
the guidance voice is very loud and you can't turn it off. Super annoying... hurts your ears if it's near you and is often much louder than anything else in the room. other than that, good, but so what...
I don't think waterproof means to put it in water like a rubber duckie in a bathtub!!!! I am pretty sure it means encase of rain or dropping in water by accident. Damn man what are you doing!!!! You didn't discuss sound quality much at all.
SQ on this speaker may just be a slight bit better than its big brother Life Jacket XL. As to the water proof, last year I put this speaker in a Home Depot bucket full of water and held it to the bottom with a large Rock for a1/2 hour (playing) The Speaker still works, and very well. Straight up these are no bullshit units. Thanks for watching.

I have the exatact same one for 5 years and it's still like new. The sound quality is great, the volume super loud and the battery suuuper lasting

I got mine for 50 bucks on amazon but it was on sale and I got a mount for it too, worth the cash if you want a good quality speaker

Low wattage so it doesn't have enough support during the bass drops
