I was up in Marysville for a family get away last week - so keen to ride Cascades as it had been about 2 years, and I had been doing a lot of training... ... night one of the holiday, I ended up in bed at 7pm with hot and cold sweats and what turned out to be a nasty chest infection. But I did not let that stop me, the next day I got out the bike and rode up Lady Talbot drive as a slow meandering climb to get the lungs and legs working, and then the day after that I rode Cascades. Who would have thought that after driving up a mountain, you would end up doing that much climbing on the bike! An awesome trail, and a great day out. Marysville is stunning - we stayed in the caravan park, and I can't recommend them enough. Already booked ahead for next year :)
Great video Chris. Much more exciting than our day jobs. I came across your video today when I was looking up info in Lake Mountain. Plan to take one of my grandsons up there in the school holidays. The filming in this post was outstanding. 😊👍
What a brilliant video! I'd love it if you did a quick bike check at the beginning, just because I love geeking out to different builds and bike types.
It went together easily in less than an hour. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.
With the right tools (I used a simple bike tool kit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L that you can strap to the bike) it's simple to assemble. As a 270lb guy looking for a way to get more exercise that's easy on my feet I have been impressed by this bike. The tires ship with air in the tires, but before you ride you need to pump them up som more, but once you do you can ride with confidence. You'll definitely want to replace the seat if you're going to ride for any real distance, but that's the case with most bikes. I'm loving it and it has given me a hobby from my youth back.
This video is extremely well made I love it
Victoria is a fantastic place for cycling .

Best investment ever.
It's a good track. Take lots of food, it's a bit of a grunter.

Not a mask in sight 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Why would there be masks? The vast majority haven’t worn masks in Victoria for about 8 months now
Dan won’t be happy
polygon collosus N9 , indonesian
Yeah it is, such an awesome bike that is.
Heading up this week, can't wait. Is it possible to do a couple laps of Cascades in 1 day?
