Love The Wood Brothers!! Seen them a few times and everytime has been exceptional!! Heard Oliver Wood has/is collaborating on a tune with Derek Trucks! Can't wait to hear it. Thanks for the reaction and lesson video!!
Love their fixing a hole and trouble in mind covers. They're a masterclass in dynamics, layering, minimalism, and musicianship. Sneaky filthy boys. Thanks for your videos!
Wood Brothers would be one hell of a band to see. So cool the way they changed key and compared rain pouring down to an overcoming love song. Thank you Kevin Brooks for sending this request to Michael. Michael love the way you can find the notes in songs.
Michael I am so glad that you have finally done a Wood Brothers video. I have been waiting for a reaction from you. I love these guys. Oliver on lead with his quirky style and vocals, Chris driving it with that stand-up bass (he was a former member of the acclaimed jazz trio Modeski, Martin and Wood), and the great, understated percussion of Jano Rix on the shitar (designed so that he could play percussion with the brothers around a single microphone). So cool.
MIIIIIIIIKE you're the man! I'm moving to Nashville in a week or two and I religiously watch your channel. I would consider myself a professional for a good while now and your channel still teaches me things here an there and when I'm not learning on your channel I'm just being purely entertained. I can't say enough how much I love you and appreciate what you are doing. I tell all my guitar buddies about this channel.. all love brother! Keep it up! ✌🖤🤘
A big Avetts fan, I only just got introduced to the Wood Bros today for the first time. I was surfing around for their songs and came upon your channel. It's fantastic! I won twice today. Thank you!
I spent a lot of time with Chris Wood during the Shackman recordings as an assistant to the engineer David Baker. Chris blew my mind daily with his skills. Pretty intense guy when not playing.
I believe the percussive guitar is one they refer to as the “Shit-tar”…at least that’s I’ve heard them say in concert. Highly versatile, highly custom…not available at guitar center. Love the video! Thank you.
The percussion instrument is called a Shuitar (not a joke) Oliver Wood is one of the more underappreciated guitarists out there. And Chris Wood is easily one of the best bassists Postcards from Hell, Muse, and Keep Me Around all all live recording that need to be checked out. Give me chills each time
The Wood Brothers are amazing! Seen them up close a few times and they are incredibly dynamic, Oliver and Chris do something special as brothers. I saw Dead and Co last month in PA where i live. Great show, John Mayer was outstanding. ruclips.net/video/yrW5Dz_AQW8/видео.html Ripple encore John plays tremolo at 3:18 emulating the album version, but then he plays something like ive never heard. Not sure the best way to share a link with you, i dont catch live traction often, but i definitely thought of you and want you to hear this shit man💔
Also that note ur missing is that little cowboy cord, D diminished. Almost like that little country walk down u hear a lot of time in country tunes. It's the little cord that's in the first two frets.. it is a D something lol
Yes I got it the second time through! It’s amazing how much you miss when the camera is on and you’re also trying to say something about the lyrics, arrangement, etc!
@@Guitargate oh absolutely! And you are so good at explaining things I would never be able to explain lol. I e always been just a player by ear. Never really learned how to read music, so I just really dig the way you articulate things and clarify pieces of music. I've learn so much just in theory watching your channel. Where and when to play those major and minor licks.. once I started watching your page I started to really practice that. I have to say you have ignited more interest I'm me for the guitar I had had in a while. I had gotten a bit burnt out if that makes any sense lol. That's definitely easy to do in this state where there's basically no music scene anymore. Sorry for rambling lol I just appreciate you even responding to me. You tha man brotha!! God bless ✌🖤🤘
@@Guitargate I think what you didn't mention (but you played it the first time) was B min to B maj to G to D in the pre-chorus. It's the chromatic D D# D that sounds so cool. I think the 7th chords are just in the chorus for a thicker sound
Jano Rix and his Shuitar round out this trio perfectly. Definitely worth the spend to see them live.
Should have called it a guitamborine.
I LOVE JANO

Oh man that fixing a hole cover is unreal

Just got home from their show, they were great!
They headlined a roots/bluegrass fest I went to years back. They are INCREDIBLE live.

Go to their show! Absolute joy.
I spent a lot of time with Chris Wood during the Shackman recordings as an assistant to the engineer David Baker. Chris blew my mind daily with his skills. Pretty intense guy when not playing.
My FAVORITE live band. I know there are so many artists out there, but I sure would love another Wood Brothers....more recent
I've seen them three times, road tripped to Dallas with my son in my 78' F funfiddy the first time. So much talent.
You should react to their song Luckiest Man, fantastic song and I think you'll absolutely love it!
Love the Wood Brothers
One of the best live bands out there along with dawes
Dude you’re awesome! I subscribed a while ago and I love the way you host you’re videos
Totally underrated

Seeing these cats on my birthday next month with my wife and many of our kids and I’m PSYCHED!!!
Awesome!
You need to listen to Beato's interview of Derek Truck's. He broke out a tune he and Oliver Wood are working on and it's great with insight to Oliver
That was a great interview!
@@mitchweiner Derek was so relaxed
I'm a huge fan of the Wood Brothers and Michael Palmisano Thx for the vids !!!!
Great tune.
I shared this with Oliver!
Turns into a straight up love song 9:28 "Since you held my hand and kissed me the the very first day...." Love these guys so much.
What do I win? I’m cheerfully replying. 😀
Would love to see some Medeski Scofield Martin and Wood too!
I love Oliver's guitar playing and singing. Still can't figure out what's going with the guitar on "postcards from hell"
I figured it out once. I’ll see if I can refigure soon and I’ll clue you in to what I find if someone doesn’t reply with something better sooner!

Postcards from Hell, Muse, and Keep Me Around all all live recording that need to be checked out. Give me chills each time
Atlas and Ophelia (live) are easily some of my favorites of all time
Hey man.....did you ever get started on that building on that piece of land that you bought?
Love your channel. I'd love to see some Dinosaur Jr. covered at some point.
Go see them - unforgettable
YESSSIRR 🔥🔥🔥
Please react to Blaze Foley - you can choose any song of his, research his story, fantastic artist who was taken from this world too soon

5:38 = B7 with D# as Basstone

Blackberry Smoke has the same drumming guitar.
Can you react to Rome Music's Vengeance? They have an amazing guitarist Jess Lai Mieritz who wrote a sick solo
Wood Brothers have some pretty great stuff. I'm a much bigger fan of their live recordings over their studio stuff.
Agree
Please, for goodness' sake check out Postcards From Hell.
Do Death story to tell
Please do some Allen Holdsworth RIP
he's mine please
His percussion instrument is a “Shittar”
Thats Jono
Wow very reminiscent of Dan Hicks - RIP - Reeling Down... Diatonic? Not... Peace brother!
Mike. Youre trying to brake down a fretless instrument.
They call it the shittar lol
Not my cup of tea. But,I get why others might like it!
