Man, I truly hope that the Low Rider S returns this year and that H-D finally introduces a touring model for it. A modern FXRT is much needed. These custom builds are awesome, but many of us want one ready to go off the floor from the factory.
I'll say it again and again and again... THIS is how H-D will compete with the rest. As long as H-D can keep it cost effective, which they can if they really want to, and not kill the deal with nonsense, overpricing, and make financing super easy, these are win win sales. This design, as well as all of Laidlaw's other recent builds, are fantastic.. Bravo fellas!
Awesome build. I would like to see the overall sales figures at the end of the year and see where the Low Rider S is at. Hope HD Corp takes notes and expands options, parts and builds from this platform. That exhaust sounds killer and you did make a good point about doing long distances with something like that. Great for short rides but not all day.
@@TheNostorian agree. somewhat cool fairing but looks abhorrently aftermarket on the inside. i wouldnt pay 50 bucks for it. I'll take a conelys t sport fairing every time over this.
I had Bassani pipes on a 2012 Custom Sportster and they were loud. When riding in staggered formation the bike to my right usually asked to switch positions so my exhaust was mostly addressing the roadside and not the right side rider. That said, I loved the sound. Now I ride a 2016 Stage 4 Limited with Vance and Hines exhaust that is loud but not in the same league as Bassani. Please keep the videos coming, they are always informative and entertaining.
Hey Matt, I've gotta thank you. I already gave props to Shadetree Surgeon but as I told him your Zion video broke me brother! I did a similar trip back in 99 in a car with my then girlfriend. The entire time all I could think about is how epic that trip would be on my bike! 21 years later with my bike outta sorts, not having ridden in 6 to 7 years (new ex-girlfriend) I find myself watching that vid. It freaking broke me! Less than a week later I'm the proud owner of my first Harley. A 2020 Softail Standard! I am so happy right now! Thanks for what you do and for the inspiration to get me back on two wheels!
Thanks brother. I live for comments like this. I’m always trying to spread the enjoyment of two wheels. Congrats on the new bike. Enjoy. Thanks for watching my channel. 👍🏻
@@mixalis6168 Yes it was pulled. It remains to be verified what is happening to the Deluxe, Breakout and, what was the third one forecast to be dropped?
Matt, idk about shorty levers. I have 1fng (same as Elit) shorty clutch and normal size brake lever. I really dig it. I have no fatigues on a clutch even after battling trafic for 1 hour straight. But I used to have a lot of fatigues in traffic with stock levers.

The cool thing about this fairing is that it’s 30 inches wide. Just like the bars, so, if you squeeze & split on a Sportster, Dyna or this Low Rider -S, stock, you can totally do the same thing with this fairing!
Evil White Man I believe he’s referring to lane splitting. I was wondering the same. I like the fairing but no way I’d put it on my bike if it made it harder to split lanes.
@@angelosenteio Matt didn't seem to have any problem splitting lanes with it , there was at least one shot of him doing it . i was more worried about the bags , they look a little wider than the fairing . but didn't seem to be a problem .
I meant lane splitting, yeah! This is the perfect fairing for it, as is exactly as wide as the bars. I know it’s not legal everywhere, but in California and in Mexico City, it’s necessary and can be safe-ish! 🤘🏻💀
Big fan of the FXRT fairing on Softail builds....please share more in the future, especially if owner also added a bluetooth speaker system. I also hope that MoCo offers an FXRT model in 21.
Really cool bike! Love the saddle bags. The fairing is just screaming for a sound system. Maybe if Harley could mass produce something like this at a reasonable price you’d get those elusive younger guys interested in riding a Harley.
great looking bike . i was unsure about the bags , seemed like putting a fat back end on a bike built for lane splitting and canyon carving . stock cam ?
Looks good. Can't do mid controls though unless I was just bar hopping, which I don't do. Does that fairing come with brackets for any of the softails?
Sweet build and cool video. Would love to see your opinion on the softail quarter fairing with the dirty dixie performance windshield for a change up tho. Im trying to decide between those fairings
Nice bike, the bags are different but nice to see all the options available. So your saying you can install an aftermarket head pipe/full exhaust and not void the warranty as long as your using the SE tuner/SE Auto-tune Pro combination?
Love the bike and the build!! What does the faring usually cost to fit on property and paint and install by your shop? I’m very interested in doing a similar bill to my 2019 Lowrider, I can’t find anybody that does the quality work you guys do up here in Northern California
@Matt Laidlaw how much does harley charge for Labor? i wanna get some risers on my Lowrider S... stock seating position and bars messes up my lower back after a long ride.
An excellent video (again) and a beautiful bike. Since you said the taillight was stock, I was surprised you did not comment on the apparent "turn signal delete" option! LOL. Not sure this will fly in many states! Maybe the owner should upgrade to a taillight w/integrated signals?? Also from your riding, I was wondering if the inner fairing painted Barracuda Silver was excessively reflective at the wrong times of day. I am thinking matt silver or black, "billiard" silver (which I know doesn't exist but would lack metallic flakes), or even vivid black would have been better?
Great video matt! Your recording style of the videos are really good! The sound is good too! Can i ask you where did you put the micro when you are riding? Sounds really clear the exausth and no wind noise... Interested how do it! Thanks!
@Merle Stadnyk we ALL know that Matt's ALL about "doing the speed limit" 🤣 The Zion video was a great display of that. ("Licence & Registration please"👮♂️)
Once again, great job Matt. I’m curious as to what you did with the rear turn signals. Maybe I missed it but I’m not sure if they were integrated into the taillight.
Could you please add spec lists? (All the aftermarket parts to this bike) I’ll like to shop for it. Still contemplating on getting a HD, either Street Bob or FXR.
How would you describe the sound of the Bassani Road Rage compared to a Fab28 exhaust? I just picked up a new Low Rider S and so far those are the two exhausts that I’m interested in. I’m looking for a deep and clean sound without any raspy or high pitched notes
Another beautiful build by Laidlaws. Matt does Russ make a faring for the Heritage? I have his suspension ( the bike you sold me) and want to keep the custom parts by the same customizer.
I like the video and although not my taste in how I like my bike to look watch to out own. I do have a question for you. Will you address again the new model line up and the possibility of some discontinued models. It would seem in the past few months with H-D a lot of this information has been closed down. Can you address anything.
Matt, why the shock from the Heritage?. I have an FLSB on which I am looking to raise the suspension and I had been told the Fat Bob shock was the one to go for.
I like the looks of that. I know you've got to know Adam Sandoval. He got his lady a similar ferring for her bike. Looks good. I only wish that these and the ferrings on the road glide could be mounted a couple of inches lower kind of like some old car get a lowered roof but here without the chop. I think it would make the bikes look a little longer and sleeker.
I appreciate the ideas and the quality of the work involved but I have to say that fairing looks very chunky, The noise! Definitely too much, too loud. Always interesting to see these projects. I have a question. Can you buy mufflers or systems to make HD's quieter?
Great build! What's the weight of the bike in final form? Harley needs a fairing bike, proper liquid cooling, with cruise control. The Pan American platform was a nice new concept. A Road Glide redo with the Pan American engine, belt drive, and a modern lightweight chassis would absolutely rock the motorcycle world and also be a huge shot of adrenaline for Harley.
Damn y’all just barely beat me to it. I’ll get my RWD next week. Was hoping to be the first one in silver. Granted I’ll probably be the only one on it part of the US coast line
Matt, I thought that I would ask....and I know that this is kind of remedial but, what are the gloves that you are wearing in the video? They seem really functional? Thanks for your time, sir!
