Elite should include Luminosity Masks! Oh, and great video by the wonderful Robin Whalley.

The Elite version doesn't exist anymore. Now there's only one version of DPL and it doesn't include luminosity masks unless you have purchased a FilmPack license. Very frankly, it's ridiculous.

Thanks for your comment@@patrickphilippot5045 We have a great feature added for FP7 which is a good think on our end and we hope that you will use this feature in FP7 and for other topics PL7 is the better choice, which is up to our customers. :) Best regards

Great succinct, detailed video: a Robin W. hallmark. Great to have Robin at DXO!

Not including the Luminosity Mask seems ridiculous, especially considering much of the competition includes it without having to spend any extra money.

Agree. Very customer unfriendly decision by dxo.

Thank your for your comment! :) Every tool has different functions, this does not only comes down to the luminosity mask but we are happy that you like this feature and would love to see you work with this one! :) Best regards

I won't be working with it unless you put it in the main application .

Thanks for your comment!@@-OzSteve There are a lot of features that are available specifically for every different tool, as they differ. Thats the nature of having tools that ca do some things better then other, like the NIK Collection or Photolab or Filmpack. I love that you like the function and i hope that you will use it too someday as its not a decision to take something away of the customer, its due to the fact that some tools just encourage different workflows then others. Best regards :)

@@DxOLabs Sorry, but that doesn't make sense. Luminosity mask is a tool that is applicable in lots of contexts, well beyond film simulation. The customer friendly thing to do would be to put it in the main editor, not in a specialised add-on. The only reason for putting it in a specialised add-on is to try to get some of your customers to buy that add-on to get the feature, even if they don't need the other capabilities. A while back I bought film pack just to get the channel mixer (another tool applicable in many contexts beyond film simulation). Since then, I have NOT ONCE used filmpack for film simulations as I'm just not interested in that style of image. I refuse to buy it again just to acquire one feature. Instead, I will continue using a competitors product for luminosity masks. If DxO keep doing this, I'll simply get DxO PureRaw for raw conversion and use a competitors editing suite instead.

I too was delighted to hear Robin on the DxO channel. Good move DxO.
However the non inclusion of Luminosity I think is a poor move. I would have also thought by now that Split Toning would have also been included in a new release of the Elite version.
The PC version as in the past differs from the Mac version which I presume Robin used in his demo. The tools in the bar at the bottom of the image do not show in the PC version. Where do you go on a PC to change the Mask Colour as demonstrated? This is not the first time the PC version differs from the Mac in provision of the the tool bar below the image.

Thank your for your comment! :) With having several tools for different work areas the functions may differ from tool to tool and this is not only the luminosity mask. We try to provide every feature possible for our tools to ensure the best workflow and i hope you will be able to use them the way you like! :) Best regards
