I would say I work on a lot of vector animations. Hand drawn appears to take more time versus vector animation. But having experience in both is a plus though.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience! Indeed it's good to have experience in both, and this is why we extensively cover both of them on this channel.

Greatly enjoyed this video. I used to use anime studio seven when I was a kid. The company change the name of their program to Moho. It was extremely powerful as a tool but I feel like I let myself be directed by my abilities instead of by the story. I now do raster style animations. I feel like I have a lot more freedom to tell the stories that I want to even though that freedom was always there with the better tools. I think a perfect system would be combining hand drawn and raster animation with vector animation.
    Greatly enjoyed the video

When I say Raster animation I am referring to frame by frame. I’m not sure if I’m using the wrong terminology. You could do frame by frame with a vector animation but I don’t understand why you would want to.

Thank you so much for the feedback and for sharing your experience! Indeed having a hybrid system really brings up the best of both worlds, and this is why we like using OpenToonz very much here at our 2D team.

I think 2D animations are still demanded and trendy. The best animations I've seen recently was a mix of 2D and 3D like Arcane and Demon Slayer. The characters are in cell-shaded 3D but the environment and all the effects are drawn in 2D.

I'm not an animator, but I use Illustrator for my cleanup drawings. Are there any animated shows that use vector animations?

2D is fantastic, some of the best designs I have ever seen are in 2D and all animes are in 2D. 2D is much much better, even for game development.
