  • Hi friends, in this video I'll show you the new Techo nib (created by CY aka TokyoStationPens on IG) as part of the Esterbrook special nib program. I ordered the Nouveau Bleu with palladium/silver trim along with the Techo nib directly from Esterbrook (this video is not sponsored.)
The Techo nib is CY's take on the Naginata Togi (a wide nib) and designed to give you varying line widths depending on the angle you hold the pen. I tried four different angles in my writing sample and found it quite comfortable to write with throughout.

Thanks. I was looking for more information about the Techo nib from Esterbrook. This video is very helpful, and you have a pleasant way of presenting the pen, nib and ink.

What an interesting nib! An Estie is on my wish list for 2023, but I'm really unsure about which nib. I hope they come to the Raleigh Pen Show this June so I can try them :).

I hear you on trying to decide on the nib - there are so many interesting ones! Hopefully they’re at the pen show so you can find the right one for you 🙌🏽

So fun watching you play with the nib. I bought one and as per usual my pen is still uninked :)

I love the versatility of that nib. Thanks for sharing this video. Did you have to wait long for the nib to be available?

I love it too, it’s a great nib. I ordered directly from Esterbrook when they had the nib on hand (a few days after announcing it) but they did say that it might be a few months for a restock once they sold out…

This is such an interesting and versatile nib. Do you still enjoy the nib? does it give you hand fatigue to hold in different angles for prolonged writing/drawing sessions?

It’s still one of my go-to nibs and the pen is always inked up! I actually do love it for journaling - the angle that I use for cursive lets me write in a wide line and printing the date at the top of the page gives me a finer line!

@@FromCarola Thanks! I am debating getting an esterbrook with this nib or getting a Naginata togi grind (I am planning to go to SF pen show next month)

@@UARELOVE1010sorry for the late response but I just published a Short where I wrote with the Techo nib and Sankakusen (aka Naginata) both ground by CY. The Techo is ground from a B nib while the Sankakusen/Naginata is from a BB so it’s juicier. Btw I’m also going to the SF pen show…have fun!

@@FromCarola The short was a good video helping to see both the nibs side by side. I think I just fell in love with the Naginata nib. Thanks for doing it before the pen show. I hope I can get on the list for the nib meisters!!

Hi! Want this nib in that pen too. How did you order it? I don’t like the botanical garden

Hi! I emailed Esterbrook directly with my choice of pen + trim. They don’t currently have the option of buying the nib on their website but my understanding is that they will in the future. This is a lovely pen!
