- This is a video of a 6 day Hike to the National Parc "Los Nevados" in Colombia. It is a volcanic mountain range situated just in the centre of the famous coffee triangle in colombias cordillera central, between the cities Pereira, Manizales and Ibague.
The national parc contains a huge variety of different climates. From the warm mountain rainforest in the lower altitudes, to the super humid cloudforests up to the paramo highland with its emblematic plants, the Frailejones (Epeletia spec.) The peaks of the volcanos reach the alpine zone with glaciers on nevado de Tolima and the infamous nevado del Ruiz, the most dangerous volcano in colombia. It's one of the few places in the world where you can admire dense jungles and glaciers in the same place.

I started my hike in the famous Cocora Valley, with it's giant wax palms up to the Paramo, which I crossed to reach the laguna de Otun. Here I set up basecamp to climb the peak of Nevado Santa Isabel with almost 5000 m.
Eventually I decended into the huge rainforest valley, of the rio Otun, to end up in the city of Pereira
This looks absolutely beautiful my friend!
Sehr cool, macht Spaß zuzuschauen 👍
Schönes und sehr eindrucksvolles Video😮
Schönes Video AJ.
Nice one dude. I was there in 2019 and by the looks of things I went up and down the same route you descended. I tried finding the trail up above Laguna del Otun but completely lost it after a while and gave up!
@@feargusc Indeed. Following that trail was really hard work. I was lucky I had a clear view most of the time.
