Thanks so much for the comment! Very lovely bike, it must be so fun to ride. The carburators are fixed now and i am currently working on the next video... Cheers from Germany!
Good and nice job👍 well done. WD 40 is my favorite tool since 30 years too😉🙂. I was owner of a CB 450 S long years ago with the same problem...rust all over the exhaust...my special tipp: cleaning as shown in the video and after that painting with heat resistant "Ofenlack", we call it in german, in black or silver. The result was outstanding. Shiny black pipes and exhaust, lasting for a long time 🤩. Greetings from Germany
Thanks so much for that awesome and nice comment. Yes, i was thinking about painting it aswell, but i liked the oldschool look of the pipes. I got your point! Very nice bike the 450 S! Greetings Manfred :)!
@@rawnider2671 An alternative to that is after cleaning is to coat the pipe in used motor oil, re-attach it and run the engine for a bit causing the pipe to heat up. This will preserve the old-school look. Just put a bit of motor oil on a rag and rub it onto the pipe so a thin film of oil is on the pipe. The oil will dry into the pipe leaving a protective coating, which resists moisture very well.
Done it once and unfortunately now I have to do it again 😂 I plan to try do change mine little bit into a Ramler so maybe this time after doing all the work I will wrap them.
If you have to do a job like this again, I can recommend the following. Get a die grinder, and then look for 3M scotch brite coarse cleaning discs. I don't know if google translated got that right. in German this means: 3M scotch brite Grobreinigungsscheiben. That will save you a lot of work and sweat in the future! Regards from Berlin.. ;-)
It's a lot of effort isn't it. I did it on mine and it's time consuming, but looks a lot better in the end. Harpic extreme works well to get the initial dirt/corrosion off, however, you need to make sure it's thoroughly cleaned off so it doesn't attackt the steel. You did a good job of it, looks a lot better👍 I can't stand seeing rusty exhaust pipes 🤣
Thanks you for watching :)

Keep making these videos, I have a CB500 myself from 95 and it really helps to have these kinds of videos!

Nice job...my pet hate of all time..rust on exhaust!!

Wrapping can be good, is not my personal choice. Shes just for sale so i will keep it like this.

👍👍👍
Good job, but how do you prevent it from rusting again?
Thank you very much! at first, you really can't. It is steel. At Second, the Nigrin paste has Rust preventer in it.
Thanks for your comment!
Greetings
Or use a wire brush on an angle grinder and save yourself hours of work
